Tanger Outlets Cookstown is at 3311 Simcoe Road 89, beside Highway 400, about 20 km and 15–25 minutes from downtown Barrie. A business-sedan planning range is $165–190 one way, all-in plus HST. For a full outlet day, book an hourly chauffeur in Barrie at $135–160 per hour, three-hour minimum, and the car waits with your bags.
Tanger Outlets Cookstown by car: the short version
Tanger Outlets Cookstown is the outlet centre people from Barrie, Muskoka and the north end of the GTA head for when the shopping list is brand-name clothing, athletic wear, shoes and home goods at outlet prices. Tanger's own visitor page places it at the southeast corner of Highway 400 and Highway 89, roughly 15 minutes south of Barrie and 40 minutes north of Toronto Pearson (Tanger Cookstown visitor information). That position is why a chauffeur makes sense: the centre is on the way to and from the airport, and it is easy to build into a longer day. To go, book your Barrie chauffeur on BarrieLimo.net, enter your pickup address, and the reservation engine shows a fixed all-in fare before you confirm. No surge, no meter, no aggregator.
Planning fares to Tanger Outlets Cookstown
These are planning ranges for a business sedan, one way, all-in (chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route, gratuity) with HST shown separately. The Cookstown figure sits in the 20 km band of our fare table; the reservation engine quotes the exact address, date and vehicle before you commit.
| Trip | Planning fare (business sedan) | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Barrie to Tanger Outlets Cookstown | $165–190 one way | about 20 km | 15–25 min |
| Barrie to Toronto Pearson (YYZ), passing Cookstown | $380–440 one way | about 97 km | 60–85 min |
| Hourly, business sedan | $135–160 per hour | 3 h minimum | car waits for you |
| Hourly, business SUV | $175–205 per hour | 3 h minimum | up to 5 guests and 5 bags |
| Hourly, executive SUV | $225–265 per hour | 3 h minimum | up to 6 guests |
| Hourly, Sprinter | $475–550 per hour | 3 h minimum | up to 14 guests |
A four-hour sedan booking is about $540–640 all-in plus HST, which comfortably covers a return trip from Barrie with three hours at the outlets. The Barrie limo price guide shows the other classes.
What Tanger Outlets Cookstown is
The address is 3311 Simcoe Road 89 (Tanger writes it "Simcoe 89"), Cookstown, Ontario, L0L 1L0. Cookstown is part of the Town of Innisfil, which is why you will see the centre listed under Innisfil as well. Tanger Inc.'s property page gives the centre 308,000 square feet of retail space and lists brands that include Coach, Adidas, Under Armour, H&M, Gap Factory, Aerie and Bath & Body Works (Tanger Inc.: Cookstown, Tanger Cookstown). Store lineups change, so check the directory on Tanger's site before you set out if you are after one particular label. We do not print store counts or opening hours here because both change.
Where the chauffeur drops you
Tanger Cookstown is an open-air outlet village with several numbered entrances rather than one front door. Tanger's visitor page lists an EV charging area in the northeast lot near entrances 3 and 4, a mother's room between entrances 2 and 3, complimentary wheelchairs on request through security, and a tour-bus drop-off and pick-up at Entrance 3. Tell us which store you want first and the dispatcher plans the nearest drop. For a Sprinter group, the chauffeur confirms the right bus-friendly point on the day.
Hourly beats one-way for an outlet day
Outlet shopping is not a ten-minute errand. People arrive with a plan and leave with six bags and a second plan. An hourly chauffeur is built for that: one car and one professional chauffeur kept for three hours or more, so you can return to the car with the bags, go back for one more store, and carry on to lunch without a second booking. A business sedan is $135–160 per hour all-in plus HST, a business SUV $175–205, an executive SUV $225–265. If you book one-way instead, the standard 15 minutes of waiting is included, then 15-minute blocks, which adds up quickly over an afternoon. Hourly versus point to point compares the two.
Sample day: Barrie, outlets, lunch, home
A four-hour sedan plan, inside the planning figure above:
- 10:00 am pickup in Barrie; about 15–25 minutes down Highway 400 to the Cookstown interchange.
- 10:30 am to 1:00 pm outlet shopping; the car waits and you message when you are ready.
- 1:00 pm short hop to a lunch stop, or lunch at the outlets.
- 2:00 pm back to Barrie, parcels carried to the door, or on to Park Place and Georgian Mall for a second round.
For a larger group or a longer day, add a vehicle, not a day: the booking can include several cars on one dispatch.
Pearson to Tanger on the way home
Tanger sits on the road between Pearson and Barrie, so a visitor landing at the airport can go straight to the outlets before checking in. The airport-to-Barrie run is about 97 km and 60–85 minutes with a planning range of $380–440 for a business sedan, flight-tracked. We include 30 minutes of waiting after a Canadian domestic or US landing and 60 minutes after other international arrivals, from actual landing. The standard pickup is curbside at the commercial pickup area; meet and greet inside arrivals is an optional add-on. A stop at Tanger is a waypoint on the same booking, and the fare engine prices the extra time. See Barrie to Pearson for the full route, and Pearson airport transfers for pickup details.
Cottage-country travellers: shop on the way up
Tanger bills itself as a gateway to cottage country, and from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving the Highway 400 and Highway 11 corridor north of the GTA is heavy on Friday afternoons northbound and Sunday afternoons southbound. A weekday or early start with a stop at the outlets beats the Friday crush. We run cottage country car service from Pearson and downtown Toronto, and an outlet stop on the way is a normal request.
Is there a shuttle to Tanger Outlets?
People search for an outlet shuttle, and the honest answer is that BarrieLimo.net is a private car and chauffeur service, not a scheduled shuttle, and we are not going to describe public schedules we cannot verify. A private car is priced per vehicle, not per seat. Four friends or a family of five in a business SUV or executive SUV often find the per-person cost reasonable, and the door-to-door convenience with parcels is the point. For public options, check the City of Barrie and GO Transit websites (GO Transit) for what exists today. A taxi or ride-hail is cheaper for one person on a short trip; a private car wins on groups, bags, early starts and the ride home.
Which vehicle for outlet shopping
- Business sedan: three guests and three bags; a mother-and-daughter day.
- Business SUV: five guests, five bags; $175–205 per hour; the sensible default when shopping bags are expected.
- Executive SUV: up to six guests and six bags; $225–265 per hour.
- Luxury minivan: up to six with sliding doors for strollers, walkers or car seats.
- Sprinter: up to fourteen for a birthday, a bridal party or a group outing; $475–550 per hour.

Bags, boxes and what fits
A business sedan takes three bags. Six outlet bags plus a boxed pair of boots is more than that. Tell us what you expect to bring home on the booking; the dispatcher will suggest the business SUV, which has room for five passengers and five bags with the rear seats up, or the executive SUV for a bigger haul. Infant, child, toddler and booster seats are available on request from $25 each. Add them at booking and the chauffeur fits them before you set off.
Planning a good outlet day
A few habits make the day smoother, and the dispatcher can help with all of them. Decide your must-visit stores before you leave, because the village is large and the walk between ends adds up. Start early on weekends: the lots fill from late morning, and an arrival before the rush means an easier drop. Keep lunch flexible, since restaurant queues move faster on weekdays. Check Tanger's site for sale periods and for the TangerClub app, which Tanger describes as a free loyalty programme with coupons and preferred parking; that is Tanger's offer, not ours. And book the return in the same breath: on an hourly booking the car is simply there when you finish, with the heater or the air conditioning already working.
Team outings, bridal parties and birthdays
Outlets suit group outings because everyone finds something. A Sprinter takes up to fourteen with their bags and is $475–550 per hour with a three-hour minimum; an employee appreciation afternoon, a bridal-party shopping morning before a wedding, or a birthday group are the usual requests. Stretch limousines and party buses are partner vehicles from vetted operators; there is no alcohol on board in any vehicle, so plan the celebration drinks for the restaurant. See Sprinter group transportation for seating and luggage notes, and corporate car service if the outing is a company account.
Peak shopping weekends and winter
The busiest days are the long weekends, the Black Friday weekend and the run-up to Christmas, when the outlet lots fill and the approach from the interchange queues. Book early, and let the dispatcher know your time constraints. Winter is a factor too: Highway 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 is in the snowbelt, and lake-effect squalls from November to March can slow or close it. Our vehicles run winter tires from November to April, and dispatch checks 511 Ontario before each trip. We would rather start early than have you wait in a snow-covered lot.
Mobility, EV charging and amenities
Tanger lists complimentary wheelchairs and a mother's room on site. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available from us if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter. Our chauffeurs help with seat belts and stow a folding walker or manual wheelchair. We do not print a ramp specification. If you are driving an electric car yourself, Tanger lists charging stations in its northeast lot; that is its facility, not ours.
Combine Tanger with other Innisfil stops
Tanger is one of several Innisfil places we drive to. A lunch or sunset at Friday Harbour, a summer swim at Innisfil Beach Park, or an evening at Georgian Downs can all sit on the same hourly booking. The Innisfil city page maps the town, and our Tanger shopping guide on the blog has trip ideas.
No alcohol, pets and tipping
There is no alcohol on board in any of our vehicles. Pets travel by prior approval, requested at booking and confirmed in writing; service animals are welcome and should be mentioned at booking. Gratuity is included in the fixed fare.
Book direct and cancel fairly
More than 72 hours before pickup there is no charge; at 72 hours or less 10 %; at 48 hours or less 50 %; at 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100 %, measured from the scheduled pickup. Booking direct means one dispatch desk and no aggregator commission. If your trip includes flights or a hotel, the travel desk can help, and the attractions hub lists the other places we drive to. We are independent of Tanger and name the centre only because customers ask to go there.
