Georgian Downs, the Innisfil racetrack and casino at 7485 5th Side Road, is about 15 km and 15–25 minutes from downtown Barrie. A business sedan one way is a planning range of $150–170, all-in plus HST. For a night out, book an hourly chauffeur from Barrie at $135–160 per hour, three-hour minimum, so the car waits and you never drive home.
Georgian Downs casino and racetrack: the short version
People type "casino Barrie" into a search box and land on the same place: Georgian Downs, in Innisfil, a short run south of the city on the way to Cookstown. It is two things on one property. The racetrack side is a standardbred (harness-racing) track operated by Great Canadian Entertainment, and the casino side, Gateway Casinos Innisfil, has slots, table games and e-tables. To go there without driving, book your Barrie chauffeur on BarrieLimo.net: enter your pickup and the address, see the fixed fare, and choose a one-way ride, a return, or an hourly booking where the car and chauffeur stay with you. We are independent of both operators and name them only because customers ask us to take them there.
Planning fares from Barrie to Georgian Downs
These are planning ranges for a business sedan, all-in (chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route, gratuity) with HST shown separately. The reservation engine quotes the exact address, date and vehicle before you confirm.
| Trip | Planning fare (business sedan) | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Barrie to Georgian Downs (Innisfil) | $150–170 one way | about 15 km | 15–25 min |
| Barrie to Casino Rama (for comparison) | $230–265 one way | 47 km | 35–45 min |

A four-hour sedan booking, which suits a dinner and an evening on the floor, is about $540–640 all-in plus HST. The casino is 19 and over, so this page is written for adults. The Barrie limo price guide explains how classes compare.
Gateway Casinos Innisfil at Georgian Downs, in plain terms
The address is 7485 5th Side Road in Innisfil, Ontario. Great Canadian Entertainment's page for the track says live racing runs in June, July and August, that the simulcast room opens at noon seven days a week, and that the facility has operated since November 2001 (Georgian Downs). Gateway's Innisfil page lists slots, table games and e-tables, a restaurant, a loyalty programme, group bookings and Stay and Play packages, and says players must be 19 or older with valid government photo ID (Gateway Casinos Innisfil). Its site currently says table games run around the clock, but hours and games change, so confirm anything time-sensitive with the venue before you set a pickup.
One-way, return or hourly: how to book a casino night
There are three sensible ways to book, and the right one depends on how you play.
- One way, then a second ride later. Cheapest if you will stay until closing and cannot predict the hour. Book the return when you are ready; ask the dispatcher what is realistic, but a fixed time is safer.
- Return at a fixed time. Book both legs at once, for example a 6:30 pm pickup and an 11:00 pm return, and each leg has its own fixed fare shown in the engine.
- Hourly wait-and-return. The car and chauffeur stay with you from pickup to the last block. This is the lead product for casino nights, and it is what we recommend for groups because the plan is one booking, one dispatcher and one chauffeur. Hourly starts at three hours; a four-hour sedan booking is about $540–640 all-in plus HST.
Live racing season and the simulcast room
Harness racing is a summer sport at this track, with live cards in June, July and August according to the operator. If you want a day at the races rather than a casino night, ask the track for the current race calendar, because dates and post times change every season. The simulcast room is a different experience: it shows races from other tracks and, per the operator, opens at noon every day. An afternoon at the races also suits an hourly booking, with an early dinner in Barrie or at Friday Harbour on the way home.
Is there a casino in Barrie itself?
Not that we know of. The nearest casino-and-racetrack property to Barrie is Georgian Downs in Innisfil, and the larger resort casino in the area is Casino Rama, east of Orillia. If you want the resort experience with a hotel and show rooms, read our Casino Rama attraction page and the Casino Rama limo service. If you want the short, easy evening, Georgian Downs is the one: 15 km against 47 km, and a lower fare for the shorter run. For a head-to-head on distances and fares, see Barrie to Casino Rama.
Gateway's planned move to Cookstown
Gateway has announced plans to relocate its Innisfil gaming operation from Georgian Downs to a site on Reive Boulevard in Cookstown, the former Innisfil Creek golf-course land. Standardbred Canada reported in 2024 that Gateway's lease at Georgian Downs was expected to run until a targeted opening in January 2028, and local news reported that Ontario issued a minister's zoning order for the new casino site in July 2025. Treat all of that as a plan, not a timetable: nothing about the current address changes today, and our fares from Barrie to the present location stand. When the new facility opens we will quote its address through the same reservation engine. If you are booking far ahead, check the venue's own site for the current address before you confirm.
Safe ride home: no drinking and driving, and no alcohol on board
An evening at a casino and a drive home do not mix with alcohol, and the point of a chauffeur is that nobody who has been drinking ever sits behind the wheel. One rule is binding on every one of our vehicles: alcohol is not allowed on board, including in party buses, stretch limousines and group vehicles. Plan your drinks for the venue. The chauffeur is a professional, the car is warm, and the return trip is on the fare you saw. If you are designating a night out for a group, one hourly booking means no designated driver is needed.
Gaming responsibly
Gambling is for adults and for entertainment. In Ontario you must be 19 or older. If you want tools to set limits, PlaySmart offers information on responsible play, and the AGCO, Ontario's gaming regulator, publishes rules and consumer information. If gambling stops being fun, ConnexOntario offers free, confidential support at connexontario.ca. We simply drive, and we do not give gambling advice.
Vehicles for a casino night
- Business sedan: three guests and three bags; a couple's night out.
- Business SUV: five guests; $175–205 per hour.
- Executive SUV: up to six; $225–265 per hour.
- Luxury minivan: up to six, with the easiest step-in height.
- Sprinter: up to fourteen guests for a birthday, a retirement party or an employee outing; $475–550 per hour.
- Party bus or stretch limousine: partner vehicles from vetted operators, no alcohol on board; ask for a written quote.
Birthdays, retirements and group nights out
Groups are where hourly really pays. One Sprinter for twelve friends is one booking, one pickup address (or several, added as stops) and one return, and the fare is shown before you confirm. Our Sprinter group transportation page covers seating and luggage, and the birthday limo page sets out how celebration bookings work. For groups beyond fourteen, a coordinator prices the movement in writing.

Taxi, ride-hail or private car?
Honest comparison: a taxi or ride-hail from Barrie to Innisfil can be cheaper for one person on one leg, but on a Friday or Saturday night the return is the unpredictable part, because an out-of-town address is a long dead-run for a local driver. A private car with a fixed return time, or an hourly wait, removes that risk. For a group of four or more, split per person, a Sprinter or an executive SUV can come out close to ride-hail money with far more comfort. We state ranges, not guarantees, and the engine shows the exact number.
Winter nights and Highway 400
The 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 is in the snowbelt: lake-effect squalls from November to March can slow or close it with little warning, and a late return after midnight on a snowy Saturday is exactly when it matters who is behind the wheel. Our vehicles run winter tires from November to April, dispatch is live 24 hours a day, and the dispatcher checks 511 Ontario before sending a car. We build in an extra margin on winter pickups and will tell you honestly when the road makes a later start wise.
Visiting from out of town
Visitors landing at Toronto Pearson can go straight to Innisfil: Barrie to Pearson is about 97 km, and the fare range for the airport run is $380–440 for a business sedan, flight-tracked. Hotels near the Highway 400 corridor, including the options in Barrie hotels and on the Innisfil lakeshore at Friday Harbour and Innisfil, keep the transfer short. Gateway's Stay and Play packages are the venue's own; we only drive you there.
Combine Georgian Downs with other Innisfil stops
Georgian Downs is one of several Innisfil places we drive to. The lakeside resort at Friday Harbour makes a natural dinner stop before or after, Innisfil Beach Park suits a summer afternoon, and Tanger Outlets Cookstown is a short drive south at Cookstown. The Innisfil city page maps the whole town. All of these can be stops on one hourly booking.
Staff nights, seniors' outings and corporate groups
A casino or race night is a popular reward for a team, a retirement or a seniors' club outing, and the transport brief is the same each time: one pickup point or a few, a fixed return time, and everyone home safely. A Sprinter handles up to fourteen; bigger groups are split across vehicles on one dispatch, priced in writing by a coordinator. Our corporate car service handles company accounts and invoicing. Tell us at booking about anyone who uses a walker or wheelchair so the chauffeur plans the nearest drop and the right vehicle.
Child seats, pets and accessibility
The casino is 19 and over, so child seats matter only for the drive to a family race day or a different Innisfil stop; infant, child, toddler and booster seats are available on request from $25 each. Pets travel by prior approval, requested at booking and confirmed in writing; service animals are welcome and should be mentioned at booking. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter.
Cancellations and book direct
More than 72 hours before pickup there is no charge; at 72 hours or less 10 %; at 48 hours or less 50 %; at 24 hours or less, or a no-show, 100 %, measured from the scheduled pickup. Booking direct with BarrieLimo.net means the fare you see is the fare you pay, one dispatch desk plans the night, and no aggregator takes a commission. If your night out is part of a longer trip, the travel desk covers flights and hotels, and the attractions hub lists every place we drive to around Barrie.
