A Billy Bishop airport limo from BarrieLimo.net is a pre-booked black car between downtown Barrie and Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ): about 115 km, 80–110 minutes by road. A business sedan is planned at $445–510 all-in plus HST, tolls included. Flights are tracked, the chauffeur waits at the mainland terminal on Eireann Quay, and the reservation engine fixes your fare before you confirm.
Billy Bishop airport limo from Barrie: what you are booking
Book a Billy Bishop airport limo on BarrieLimo.net and the engine fixes your fare before you confirm. The ride needs different planning from Pearson, because Billy Bishop is a different kind of airport. It sits on the Toronto Island, so the car never reaches the runway: you cross by pedestrian tunnel or a short ferry from the mainland terminal. A Billy Bishop airport limo from Barrie therefore has one job, which is to put you at the foot of Bathurst Street at the right moment with your bags, rested, and to be there again when you come back. You see the fixed all-in fare before you confirm, and deal with one dispatch desk.
This page is the airport page: where cars stop, what the tunnel and ferry mean for luggage, and how waiting time works. The drive is covered on the Barrie to Billy Bishop route page and in our Billy Bishop limo guide.

How far is Billy Bishop from Barrie, and how long does it take?
Billy Bishop is about 115 km from downtown Barrie, and the drive takes 80 to 110 minutes. It is the longest of the Toronto airport runs from Barrie, because the last stretch is on downtown streets rather than on an expressway. The first 80 km, on Highway 400 and its connecting highways, behave like the Pearson trip. The last 20 or so are in the city, where weekday rush hours, ballgame nights, festivals and lakefront closures can add real time.
That is why the range is wider than Pearson's, and why we plan from the slow end of it. For a morning departure, the dispatcher back-times from your airline's recommended arrival and adds a margin for Toronto's downtown traffic; for an arrival, the chauffeur is waiting before you are off the ferry.
Where the car stops: the mainland terminal at Eireann Quay
The airport's address is 2 Eireann Quay, at the foot of Bathurst Street. The airport's own "To and From" page says that drop-off is along the curb outside the mainland pavilion and ferry terminal, and that taxis pick up at a taxi corral to the right of the pavilion. Rideshare uses the same curb zone as drop-off. A pre-booked chauffeur is a different case: we agree the exact meeting point with you by message on the day, rather than printing a spot that could change.
On a return to Barrie, you come off the ferry or out of the tunnel at the mainland, and the chauffeur is waiting there. On a departure, the chauffeur unloads you at the mainland curb, and you walk to the tunnel or ferry with your bags.

The pedestrian tunnel, the ferry and your luggage
There are two ways across to the island terminal, and both are short. The airport describes the pedestrian tunnel as a connection of under six minutes, and the ferry crossing as a 90-second trip. That means this airport is walkable even for a family, but it is not a place for carrying much. Plan on being able to move your own luggage from the car to the tunnel or ferry.
- Travelling light: the tunnel is an easy walk from the curb.
- Heavier bags: pack so that you can manage them, or choose the ferry if it suits you better.
- Mobility needs: tell us at booking; a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book ahead, and the airport can advise on its own access routes.
Check the airport's pages for current tunnel and ferry arrangements before you travel; they are the authority on how the crossing works on the day.
Waiting time and flight tracking
Every Billy Bishop pickup is attached to your flight number, and we track the aircraft from departure. Included waiting is counted from actual landing: 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights, which covers nearly everyone who uses this airport, and 60 minutes on any other international arrival. After that, waiting runs in 15-minute blocks that appear on your receipt.
Because you have to get off the island first, the chauffeur's timing builds in the walk through the terminal, baggage and the tunnel or ferry. If the crossing or the baggage hall takes longer, message the dispatcher; the car waits. See our explainer on flight tracking and meet and greet for how the handover works.
Billy Bishop to Barrie: from the island to your door
The step-by-step version:
- Before you fly: book on BarrieLimo.net with your flight number, destination address, passengers and bags.
- On landing: collect your bags and follow the signs for the tunnel or the ferry to the mainland.
- At the mainland: you receive the chauffeur's message with the car's colour, plate and position; if you added meet and greet, the chauffeur finds you by name.
- On the road: the chauffeur picks the route against live conditions on Ontario 511 and downtown traffic, and takes Highway 400 north.
- At the door: the fare was fixed in advance, with tolls and gratuity included.
Meet and greet is an optional add-on chosen on the booking form, and the engine shows its price before you confirm.
Barrie to Billy Bishop: timing the departure
For departures, we collect you at your door and drop you at the mainland terminal. The airline sets its own check-in and bag-drop times, and Billy Bishop is a smaller airport, so many people arrive with less buffer than at Pearson. Use the airline's current advice for your flight, and then add what the road needs:
- Normal weekday: 80–110 minutes plus the airline's time plus the walk through the tunnel or the ferry crossing.
- Weekday rush hours and event nights: build in another 30 minutes for downtown Toronto.
- Friday afternoons and long weekends: cottage traffic on Highway 400 fills the northbound and southbound lanes at different times of day.
- November to March: lake-effect snow off Georgian Bay can slow Highway 400; see the winter travel guide.
The route: Highway 400 and the last stretch into downtown Toronto
South of Barrie, Highway 400 carries you to the 401 and the road network in the north of Toronto, from which the chauffeur picks the way into the downtown core and out to the lakefront. The tolled 407 ETR can save time on some days and not others, and when it is used the toll is included in your fare. The final approach to Eireann Quay is on downtown streets, near the waterfront, where closures for festivals and sports events happen.
Our dispatchers watch conditions on the day, not only the typical times. For the whole picture of travelling between Barrie and the city, read the Barrie to downtown Toronto page.
Billy Bishop or Pearson: which airport for a Barrie traveller?
For many Barrie travellers the choice is made for them by the airline, but where you can choose, the comparison is simple.
| Billy Bishop (YTZ) | Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | |
|---|---|---|
| One way from downtown Barrie, business sedan | $445–510 | $380–440 |
| Distance | about 115 km | about 97 km |
| Drive time | 80–110 min | 60–85 min |
| Last stretch | downtown streets, then the tunnel or ferry | 400-series highways |
| Airport | compact island terminal | two terminals, wider route network |
Billy Bishop costs more to reach and takes longer on the road, and it saves time inside the terminal. Pearson is cheaper to reach and larger. Neither is a clear winner; the flight you want decides. Our Pearson airport page covers that side in the same detail.
Taxi, rideshare or the airport shuttle at Billy Bishop
At the island end, you have ordinary options. The airport lists taxis, Uber and Lyft on its own pickup pages, and a shuttle that links Union Station and the airport. For a trip across downtown Toronto, those are sensible choices. For the 115-km trip to Barrie, a metered or app fare moves with traffic, availability at awkward hours is not guaranteed, and the driver has not been tracking your flight.
A booked black car costs more and does more: the fare is fixed on the screen before you confirm, the chauffeur is assigned, and the car is at the mainland when you arrive. Read the flat-rate airport taxi alternative for the longer comparison.
GO train and the airport shuttle from Union Station
A rail route from Barrie to Billy Bishop does exist, in two steps. A GO Transit train from Barrie to Union Station, and then the airport's shuttle between Union Station and the island airport, which the airport describes on its shuttle page. The airport states that the shuttle is complimentary and runs every 15 minutes; check that page on your travel day. Verify GO timetables and fares on the GO site, since we do not print them here.
That journey suits a solo traveller with light luggage, and the free shuttle is a good last leg. It suits less well an early flight, a late return, heavy luggage or a family. If a car is the better fit for your trip, there is also Union Station car service from Barrie at $420–485.
Shared shuttle or private car
Shared shuttles from Barrie book you a seat in a vehicle that may collect other passengers, and they usually run to a pickup window rather than your exact time. For one traveller with one bag the seat price is usually lower than a private car, and we say so. A private car is priced per vehicle, so the comparison tightens for two, three or four people, and the car leaves when you do. For a Billy Bishop flight, a private car also avoids any chain of drop-offs on the way. Our shuttle alternative page goes through it seat by seat.
Driving yourself and parking
If you drive yourself to Billy Bishop, you add downtown driving and parking, which the airport says is provided through an external operator. The airport's To and From page lists the current options. Many Barrie travellers choose to leave the car at home for this airport, precisely because the last 20 km of the trip is the hardest to drive.
Choosing a vehicle
- Business sedan: up to 3 passengers and 3 bags; typical for a solo business traveller.
- First-class sedan: an S-Class or 7 Series class car for executives and VIP guests.
- Business SUV: up to 5 passengers and 5 bags, with four-wheel drive for winter.
- Executive SUV: up to 6 passengers and 6 bags.
- Luxury minivan: up to 6 and 6, with sliding doors for strollers and car seats.
- Sprinter: up to 14 for a delegation, a team or a family.
Because you carry bags through the tunnel or on the ferry, many travellers pick a vehicle for the people and pack for the walk. Stretch limousines and party buses are partner vehicles, arranged for groups.
Families, child seats, pets and accessibility
Child seats (infant, toddler, booster) are available on request from $25 each; add them at booking. Pets travel by prior approval, requested at booking and confirmed in writing. Service animals are welcome; mention them when you book. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles.
Hourly chauffeur from Billy Bishop: meetings downtown, then the drive home
The hourly private chauffeur is where Billy Bishop becomes powerful. Plenty of travellers' days do not end at the curb: they land, go to meetings in the financial core, take a client to dinner, then drive home to Barrie. One car and one chauffeur stay with you from a 3-hour minimum, at planning rates of $135–160 an hour for a business sedan, $175–205 for a business SUV and $350–410 for a first-class sedan, all-in plus HST. A four-hour sedan booking is $540–640.
The same car waits through meetings, so there is no hailing a ride across downtown at 6 p.m. in the rain. Read hourly compared with point-to-point, or see the hourly chauffeur service and corporate car service.
Downtown hotels, Union Station and the rest of Toronto

If your trip is a stay in the city, the downtown Toronto hotels page covers cars to and from hotels near the waterfront. For a rail connection, see the Union Station page. Our travel desk can pair flights and hotels with the car, so the whole trip sits in one file.
Booking, cancellation and what the fare includes
Booking is direct on the reservation engine. The fixed fare includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, airport fees and gratuity; HST is shown separately. Cancellation is measured from scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 %; 48 hours or less, 50 %; 24 hours or less or no-show, 100 %. Options such as child seats, meet and greet, pets and wheelchair vehicles are set on the booking form.
