Meet and greet airport service means a chauffeur waits inside the arrivals hall with a name board and walks you to the car. At BarrieLimo.net it is an optional add-on chosen at booking. The included service is flight tracking plus curbside pickup at the terminal's commercial pickup area. See the full airport limo from Barrie service, then decide which pickup you need.
What is a meet and greet airport service?
It is a personal handover. Instead of leaving the terminal and looking for a car, you walk out of customs into the arrivals hall and see a person holding a board with your name on it. That person takes the luggage cart or the bags, walks you to the vehicle and stays with you until you are in the back seat. The phrase comes from the world of corporate and VIP travel, where the aim is that nobody arriving should have to work out anything at all.
At BarrieLimo.net it is one of two ways to be collected. The other, the standard one, is curbside pickup with a position message. Both begin the same way: you book direct, give a flight number, and the pickup is tied to that flight.
What does the standard airport fare include, and what is the add-on?
The fixed fare includes the vehicle, the chauffeur, fuel, 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, airport fees, gratuity and flight tracking, with HST shown separately. It also includes curbside pickup at the terminal's commercial pickup area, which is the place the airport sets aside for pre-arranged cars. The chauffeur does not go into the terminal by default.
Meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is the add-on. You choose it on the booking form, and the engine shows its price before you confirm, so we do not print a figure here. If you leave it off, nothing changes about the fare, the tracking or the waiting time. You can see the planning fares for every class on the rates page.
How does flight tracking actually work?
You enter the airline and flight number when you book. Dispatch attaches the pickup to that flight and follows the aircraft from departure, not from the moment it appears on a board. That means the booking knows the real arrival time, the terminal the airline has assigned and any delay long before you do.
Tracking has a plain practical result: the chauffeur is where the aircraft will be, not where the timetable said it would be. An early flight from Vancouver does not leave you waiting for a car, and a late one does not leave a driver idling and a fare running. The same logic applies to station pickups, where we track the train into Union Station. Flight tracking is why a delayed aircraft is never a cancellation.
What does the chauffeur do before you land?
The chauffeur plans back from the tracked landing. On a normal weekday that means leaving Barrie early enough to be at Pearson well before touchdown, with allowance for the 60–85 minute drive down Highway 400 and whatever the road is doing. In winter, or on a Friday afternoon from Victoria Day to Thanksgiving, the allowance is larger.
On arrival at the airport the chauffeur positions the car and watches the flight. When it lands, you receive a message. The vehicle has been cleaned and the child seat, if you booked one, is fitted. Nothing about the wait is wasted on your side, because it is already inside the planning. Our Pearson Terminal 1 or 3 guide explains how the terminal is matched to the flight.

What happens in the minutes after landing?
First, the plane taxis, which takes a few minutes. Second, you switch your phone on and the chauffeur's message arrives. Third, you do what every arriving passenger does: immigration if it is an international flight, baggage, customs. The chauffeur has no part in that and cannot go through the secure area with you.
When you are through, you either reply or just walk out. With curbside pickup you follow the message to the commercial pickup area, where the chauffeur is waiting by the car with the colour and plate you were given. With meet and greet the chauffeur is already in the public part of arrivals, board in hand, and you come to them.
Who is meet and greet worth adding for?
The honest answer is: people for whom finding a car in a busy place is the hard part. That includes:
- first-time visitors to Canada, or to Pearson, who do not know the layout
- older relatives, particularly those who tire easily or use a walker
- a parent travelling alone with small children and several bags
- passengers whose phone may not work on arrival
- executives and guests who are being received on behalf of a host, where a name board is part of the welcome
It also suits a family collecting someone they love who is arriving after a long flight, because a face and a name board are a better welcome than a text with a plate number. If the arrival is simple, you do not need it.
When is curbside pickup enough?
Most of the time. A traveller who has landed at Pearson before, has a working phone and one or two bags will walk out, read the message, find the car and be on Highway 400 within minutes. Curbside is included, which makes it the right default.
A useful rule is to add meet and greet when the walk, the crowd or the clock is the worry, and to skip it when the journey is routine. The extra is a convenience, not a requirement.
What should the name board say?
A passenger's name or an agreed reference, and nothing more. Privacy matters. A full name written large in an arrivals hall is something a VIP or a private family may not want, so say at booking if you would prefer initials, a company name or a reference you choose. Dispatch will note it on the job.
If you are collecting someone else, give the chauffeur the passenger's name as it appears on the ticket and a phone number for the arriving traveller. The privacy protocol for VIP transportation describes how we handle discretion on sensitive arrivals.
How long will the chauffeur wait?
Included waiting is counted from actual landing, not scheduled landing, and it differs by flight type.
| Pickup | Included waiting | Counted from |
|---|---|---|
| Canadian domestic and US flights | 30 minutes | Actual landing |
| All other international arrivals | 60 minutes | Actual landing |
| House, hotel, office or station pickups | 15 minutes | Scheduled pickup |
| After the included time | 15-minute blocks | Listed on your receipt |
The longer allowance on international flights exists because immigration, baggage and customs vary a great deal from one evening to the next. If you are travelling with small children and several checked bags, tell us at booking. The pickup does not depend on whether you chose meet and greet.
What if I cannot find my chauffeur?
Stay where you are and call or message dispatch. The confirmation and the position message each carry the car's colour and plate. In a big terminal, the quickest fix is to describe a landmark you can see, such as a sign or a coffee shop, and let dispatch and the chauffeur work out where you are.
Do not go with anyone who approaches you in the arrivals hall offering a ride. Pre-arranged cars are the ones you were told about. The Toronto Pearson website explains the airport's ground transport options and is the source for any rule about where vehicles may stop.
Can the chauffeur help me through customs?
No. Customs, immigration and security screening are run by government agencies and take place in secure areas the chauffeur cannot enter. The Canada Border Services Agency is the source for what to declare and what documents you need, and CATSA explains airport security screening.
What we can do is take the guesswork out of the timing. If you hold NEXUS, the process may be quicker, and our NEXUS and customs timing guide explains how to think about the gap. If you are slow, tell dispatch, and the car stays within the included waiting time.
Does meet and greet apply to departures too?
The add-on described here is for arrivals. For departures, the chauffeur collects you at your door and takes you to the departures curb of your terminal, unloads the bags and sends you off with your ID and boarding pass in hand. Departures do not involve waiting for a plane, so tracking matters less, and what matters is the back-timing of the drive.
If your departure is early, the plan is different. Our guide to early-morning flights from Barrie lays out when to leave for a 6 a.m. check-in, and why a Friday in July and a Tuesday in February are not the same drive.
How does it work at other airports?
The same principles apply at every airport we serve. At Billy Bishop, the car meets you at the mainland terminal on Eireann Quay, and passengers reach the island by the pedestrian tunnel or a short ferry; see the Billy Bishop airport page and the airport's official site. The one-way sedan range is $445–510, about 115 km and 80–110 minutes.
Lake Simcoe Regional Airport, about 18 km from downtown Barrie, has no scheduled airline service; private arrivals are met by arrangement, and the sedan range is $160–185 for 20–25 minutes. Confirm operator details on the airport's own site and read the Lake Simcoe Regional Airport page. Pearson is $380–440 for about 97 km.
Can I add a stop or an hour after the airport?
Yes, and for some arrivals it is the most useful change you can make. If the day continues with a meeting in Mississauga, errands in Vaughan or dinner on the way home, a one-way fare plus waiting and stops can cost more than keeping the same car by the hour. The hourly chauffeur service has a 3-hour minimum, and a 4-hour sedan booking is $540–640 all-in plus HST.
Enter the stops at booking and the engine shows both prices. A traveller who lands at 9 a.m. with a 2 p.m. meeting in Toronto and a drive home after dinner is the textbook case. If the trip needs flights or a hotel as well, the travel desk can arrange them.
What are the house rules for the car?
Alcohol is not allowed on board. Pets travel by prior approval: request it at booking and wait for written confirmation. Service animals are welcome; mention them at booking. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter. Child seats, whether infant, toddler or booster, are available from $25 each, added at booking.
Cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 %; 48 hours or less, 50 %; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 %. A delayed flight is not a cancellation.
How do I book, with or without meet and greet?
On the reservation engine, choose the airport transfer, enter the flight number and your Barrie or Simcoe County address, then add the passengers, bags, child seats and, if you want it, meet and greet. Read the fixed fare, confirm, and your booking is made directly with the company that dispatches the car.
There is no app to install and no aggregator commission in the middle. When you are ready, book your airport car.
