Allandale Waterfront GO Station is at 24 Essa Road, on the Barrie waterfront, the end of the Barrie line. BarrieLimo.net meets your train there, follows its real arrival time and includes 15 minutes of waiting. A business sedan within Barrie is a planning range of $110–125 all-in plus HST; to Toronto Pearson it is $380–440 for about 97 km. Book direct.
Allandale Waterfront GO Station: what it is and where it is
Allandale Waterfront GO is the northern terminus of GO Transit's Barrie line, at 24 Essa Road in Barrie's Allandale neighbourhood, close to the shore of Kempenfest Bay and the waterfront parks. Trains from Union Station run up the corridor through Bradford and Barrie South and finish here. GO's own station page lists free customer parking in a main lot of 160 spaces and bike racks. Beside the platform sits the Barrie Allandale Transit Terminal at 20 Essa Road, which opened on 21 September 2025 and ties the station to local buses and regional services. Barrie's other stations are Barrie South GO at the south end and Bradford GO in the town just south of the city; Union Station Toronto is covered on its own page.
Allandale Waterfront GO to your door: fares within Barrie and beyond
One-way planning ranges for a business sedan, all-in (chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route, gratuity), HST shown separately. Distances are measured from downtown Barrie, which is a short drive from the Allandale station; the engine prices your exact address.

|---|---|---|---|
| Anywhere within Barrie | up to 10 km | 5–20 min | $110–125 |

Business SUVs add roughly 30 per cent on trips over 40 km, executive SUVs about 60 per cent; short local trips have a per-class minimum, with a business SUV within Barrie at $180–205. Everything is a planning figure until the reservation engine quotes your address and date.
Pickup at Allandale: how it works
When you book, tell the form your train, or the time you expect to arrive and where you boarded. Dispatch follows the train's status, and your chauffeur messages the exact meeting spot on the day: station layouts and works change, so we confirm rather than guess. The fare includes curbside pickup at a safe loading point at the station; meet and greet, where the chauffeur waits on the platform side with a name board, is an optional add-on chosen on the booking form. Included waiting at a rail station is 15 minutes from the train's actual arrival, then 15-minute blocks, and you are messaged before any extra time starts. If the train is delayed, nothing changes for you: the chauffeur is already adjusting.
The Barrie GO train schedule and service: an honest guide to where to check
"Barrie GO train" is a big search, and for good reason: for a single traveller going to downtown Toronto at a sensible hour, the train is hard to beat for price. We are not the authority on it, though. Schedules, fares, which days trains run and how often they call at Barrie are decided by GO Transit and Metrolinx and change by schedule period, and the corridor has been under upgrade work. Use GO Transit for the trip planner, the GO schedules page for the timetable and the Barrie construction notices for service changes, and treat anything printed elsewhere, including on this page, as secondary. What we can tell you is where a car fits around the train.
GO train Barrie to Toronto: what happens after Union
Barrie line trains end at Union Station. From there you can take the TTC, the UP Express to Pearson Terminal 1, or a VIA Rail or Amtrak connection. There is no direct train, and no direct GO bus, from Barrie to Pearson, so an airport trip by rail means a change at Union. Our Barrie to Pearson GO train vs limo guide walks through the options, and the limo vs Uber vs GO train comparison puts them side by side. For a traveller with a heavy case and an early flight, a car straight from your Barrie door to the terminal is usually the calmer plan.
GO train, taxi, shuttle or private car from Allandale
| Option | Strong points | Limits |
|---|---|---|
| GO train | Lowest price for one traveller; no highway driving | Fixed timetable; a last mile at each end; no direct Pearson service |
| Pre-booked black car | Door to door, your schedule, fixed fare, luggage and groups | Priced per vehicle, above rail for one person |
| Local taxi | Quick for a short hop in town | Metered; availability varies late at night |
| Shared airport shuttle | Cheaper than a private car for one traveller | Shared pickup times and stops |
A shared airport shuttle is generally cheaper for one traveller; a private car is priced per vehicle rather than per seat, so the gap narrows as passengers are added, and the car runs on your schedule rather than a pooled one. See our shuttle alternative page for the full comparison.
Allandale GO station parking
If you are driving yourself to the train, GO's station page lists 160 free spaces in the main lot and no overnight spaces, so check GO's page before leaving a car for a multi-day trip. Weekday mornings fill lots like this early, and event days on the waterfront add pressure. That is the strongest practical case for a car at this station: have a chauffeur take you to the platform and collect you on return, with no space to find, no snow to scrape and no parking ticket to worry about. A drop-off within Barrie is a planning range of $110–125 each way, and for a one-off trip to a Toronto meeting that is often worth it. For a daily commute the maths favour your own car or a lift; we say so plainly.
Barrie Allandale Transit Terminal and onward connections
The terminal beside the station is a bus hub: the City of Barrie's page describes connections between Barrie Transit, GO trains and buses, County of Simcoe LINX and Ontario Northland. Details of the terminal are on the City of Barrie project page, and the Tourism Barrie GO page gives a visitor's overview. For a traveller coming off a late GO train, the bus network may have stopped for the night. A pre-booked car solves the last mile at any hour, and it reaches the places no bus route does: a cottage road in Oro-Medonte, a farm in Springwater, a house in Innisfil.
When a car beats the last train
- You arrive after the final convenient northbound trip and have no ride waiting.
- The train is delayed and you need to be somewhere by a fixed time.
- You are travelling with skis, hockey bags, a stroller or several large cases.
- Three or four of you share one fare.
- You are going on from Allandale to a cottage, Casino Rama or a Collingwood chalet that no bus reaches directly.
- Snow is falling and you would rather not stand on a platform with luggage.
Allandale to the airports
From a Barrie address the airports are straightforward by car. Toronto Pearson is about 97 km and 60–85 minutes, with a business sedan at $380–440 and a business SUV at $490–565. Billy Bishop is about 115 km and 80–110 minutes at $445–510, and a car takes you to the mainland terminal on Eireann Quay, from where the pedestrian tunnel or ferry crosses to the island. Lake Simcoe Regional Airport (YLK), about 18 km and 20–25 minutes away at $160–185, is a general-aviation field with no scheduled airline service. Our Pearson airport page, Billy Bishop page and Lake Simcoe Regional page explain each, and Pearson's own site lists terminals and airlines.
Luggage and vehicle choice
A business sedan carries three passengers and three bags; a business SUV five and five; an executive SUV or a luxury minivan six and six. A Sprinter seats up to 14 for a sports team or a family reunion. Child seats are available from $25 each when you ask at booking, and pets travel by prior approval: request it on the form and wait for written confirmation, with service animals welcome. The chauffeur loads and unloads, so you can walk off the platform with nothing heavier than a coffee.
Kempenfest, Colts nights and waterfront events
The Allandale station sits near the waterfront, and the busiest weekend for it is the August civic-holiday weekend, when Kempenfest fills the downtown and shoreline with people and temporary closures. We plan the pickup around the closures and tell you the spot in advance; our Kempenfest page has the details. Winter nights bring the Barrie Colts at Sadlon Arena, with traffic building around the arena before puck drop and again at the final horn; see the Colts season page. On the days when the town is crowded, a booked chauffeur who knows the detours is worth more than a meter.
Hourly chauffeur from the platform
The lead product at BarrieLimo.net is the hourly private chauffeur: one car and chauffeur for a 3-hour minimum, business sedan $135–160 an hour all-in plus HST, business SUV $175–205. Imagine you step off the train at Allandale with a day of errands: a lawyer's office, a bank, a lunch meeting in Midhurst and a drive home to Innisfil. On an hourly booking the chauffeur waits outside each stop and the day is one invoice. A 4-hour sedan booking is $540–640. The private chauffeur page shows how as-directed days work, and our hourly vs point-to-point guide shows when each wins.
Business travellers and corporate accounts
Barrie has plenty of people who ride GO into Toronto for the day and want a clean door-to-door link at the Barrie end: an early car to the platform, a late one home. For regular travellers, visiting executives and teams, our corporate car service page explains how accounts work, with one dispatch desk and one invoice. For visiting guests arriving at Union and needing the full run to Barrie rather than a train and a transfer, the car can meet them at Union Station and bring them straight to a Barrie hotel or an address in town.
Hospital, college and school days
Some of the most useful station pickups have nothing to do with tourism: a patient going home to Barrie after an appointment in Toronto, an elderly parent arriving off the train for a visit, a Georgian College student coming back for a term. For medical appointments we can wait during the visit on an hourly booking, and for campus visits the car meets the train and runs the family around. Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre is on rvh.on.ca; tell the form which entrance you need and we plan the drop-off.
Winter on Highway 400
Barrie sits in the snowbelt, and from November to March squalls off Georgian Bay can slow or close Highway 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 with little warning. A rail line does not share every road's problem, but the last mile does. Winter-tyred SUVs and chauffeurs who watch Ontario 511 keep a pickup realistic; dispatch tells you before you travel if timing changes. Our Highway 400 winter travel guide has the longer story, and our winter airport transfers post covers early flights.
Booking direct
Book on the BarrieLimo.net reservation engine, name your train or expected arrival and you see a fixed all-in fare before you confirm. No app and no marketplace commission; one dispatch desk handles the tracking and the chauffeur. Cancellation is measured from scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent. See rates for vehicle-by-vehicle pricing, the stations hub for the other pickups, and our travel desk for flights and hotels around the trip.
