Downtown Toronto hotels are a straight run down Highway 400 from Barrie: Union Station and the hotels around it are about 114 km, 75–105 minutes, planning range $420–485 for a business sedan, all-in plus HST with tolls included. BarrieLimo.net prices your exact hotel address and can keep the same chauffeur by the hour for a day of meetings.
Downtown Toronto hotels: how a car from Barrie works
If you live in Barrie, Innisfil or Orillia and your plans are in Toronto, you have a choice at the ends of the trip. You can drive yourself down Highway 400, find downtown parking and pay for it, or you can book a chauffeur directly on BarrieLimo.net and be dropped at the hotel door. This page is for those travellers, for the people they are meeting, and for visitors who stay in Toronto and then travel north to Barrie.
A hotel is an address to the reservation engine. Enter the hotel and your Barrie address and it shows a fixed all-in fare: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, gratuity, with HST shown separately. No meter, no surge and no app. Our Barrie to downtown Toronto route page covers the drive and our Toronto city page covers the wider city.
Which downtown Toronto hotels do we drive to?
We drive to any hotel in the city and have no partnership with any of them. The hotels below were checked on 2 October 2026 against current booking listings and the brand or destination sites, and none showed as closed. Areas are given only where we are sure of them.
- Fairmont Royal York, 100 Front Street West, across from Union Station.
- InterContinental Toronto Centre, on Front Street West by the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
- Delta Hotels Toronto, 75 Lower Simcoe Street, near the CN Tower and Rogers Centre.
- Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel, 1 Blue Jays Way, built into the Rogers Centre.
- The Westin Harbour Castle, on the harbourfront.
- Hilton Toronto, on Richmond Street West, linked to the PATH system.
- Sheraton Centre Toronto, on Queen Street West.
- The Omni King Edward Hotel, on King Street East.
- The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto and Shangri-La Toronto, both in the core.
- Four Seasons Hotel Toronto, in Yorkville.
- Hotel X Toronto, at Exhibition Place.
For the city's own picture see Destination Toronto, and for the Royal York, the hotel's own site.
Hotels near Union Station
Union Station is the hub: VIA Rail, GO Transit and UP Express meet there, and the Fairmont Royal York faces it across Front Street. If you take a train and then a car, or a car and then a train, it is the natural meeting point. Our Barrie to Union Station route page and the Union Station page explain how we meet trains, with train tracking.
For a hotel guest the simplest plan is one booking from your Barrie address to the hotel entrance, with the Union Station planning range of $420–485 as the reference. The station's own site is the place to check what is open and where in the building.
The Rogers Centre, CN Tower and waterfront hotels
The hotels around Rogers Centre and the CN Tower, including the Delta and the Marriott City Centre, are the usual choice for game nights, concerts and the convention centre. Scotiabank Arena and the Metro Toronto Convention Centre are a short walk from several of them. We do not print event dates; check the venues.
For a Barrie family on a game night, the best plan is a hotel near the stadium and a car back the next morning, which avoids the Gardiner and the 400 at midnight. Our game-day limo article and the concert limo article go through it.

Planning fares: Barrie to downtown Toronto
These are planning ranges, one way, from downtown Barrie, all-in plus HST. A downtown hotel's exact quote can differ from the Union Station reference; the engine prices your actual address, date and vehicle.

How long does Barrie to downtown Toronto really take?
On a clear weekday outside the peaks, 75 minutes is realistic. The 105-minute end of the range is Friday afternoon, a game night, a long-weekend Sunday or a winter squall on Highway 400. The last stretch is the slow one: Highway 400 to the 401 or the 407 ETR, then the Don Valley Parkway or the Gardiner, depending on the day.
We plan the pickup around the slow end for anything with a fixed appointment. A 9 a.m. meeting downtown means a Barrie departure well before seven, not at 7:30. If we know the building and the hour, the dispatcher tells you honestly when to leave. The Barrie to downtown Toronto black car guide has more on timing, and the 407 ETR article covers the toll route.
Hotel entrances, drop-offs and where the car waits
Downtown hotel entrances are busy, and many sit on streets with limited standing. Our chauffeurs drop at the hotel's main entrance or the arrival area the hotel uses for cars, and for pickups they wait nearby and move to the door when you are ready. We message the car's colour and plate. If the hotel has a separate arrival ramp or tower entrance, tell us at booking.
Included waiting on a hotel pickup is 15 minutes, then 15-minute blocks. If you are on an hourly booking, none of this applies, because the car stays with you. We follow the hotel's own arrival rules and wait where it allows.
Guests arriving at Union Station and heading north to Barrie
Visitors often reach Toronto by train or plane and continue to Barrie the next day. A VIA Rail arrival, a GO train from the east or a UP Express ride from Pearson ends at Union Station, and the chauffeur can meet the guest there, with train tracking on station pickups. Book the leg from the hotel or station and the engine shows the fixed fare.
Read our Union Station page for meeting points and the VIA Rail and cruise connections article for the long-distance arrivals. The official sources are VIA Rail and UP Express.
The Barrie GO train: an honest comparison
GO Transit's Barrie line serves Allandale Waterfront GO and Barrie South GO and runs to Union Station. For a single traveller going to a downtown office on a normal weekday it is a sensible option, and we say so. The GO site is the place for schedules, fares and journey times; we print none we have not verified today. See GO Transit, and our Allandale Waterfront GO and Barrie South GO pages.
Where a car fits is the last mile and the awkward hour: a late return after the last train you want, heavy luggage, a group, a hotel in Yorkville rather than at Union, or a morning when you want to leave your own door. Some travellers ride the train down and book a car home. That is a normal combination.
Pearson or Billy Bishop to your hotel
Most visitors to a downtown hotel fly in at Pearson or Billy Bishop. Our cars serve both, and a hotel pickup from either is a single booking. Billy Bishop is on the Toronto Island, reached by a pedestrian tunnel or a short ferry from the foot of Bathurst Street; cars pick up and drop at the mainland terminal on Eireann Quay, and the airport's own site, billybishopairport.com, has details.
The planning range from downtown Barrie to Billy Bishop is $445–510, and to Pearson $380–440; see our Billy Bishop airport page and Pearson page. If you want a night near Pearson instead of downtown, read the Pearson airport hotels page.
A day in Toronto by the hour
The real argument for a chauffeur is the day with several stops: a morning meeting on Bay Street, lunch, a hospital visit, a show or a game, and the drive home. A one-way fare prices a lift. An hourly booking prices the day: the same car and professional chauffeur for as long as you need, from a three-hour minimum, so you do not search for parking or rebook each leg.
Planning figures are $135–160 an hour for a business sedan, $175–205 for a business SUV and $225–265 for an executive SUV, three-hour minimum, all-in plus HST. Read the hourly chauffeur service page and the hourly versus point-to-point guide for how the blocks work, and our Toronto day trip itinerary for sample days.

Staying over: a night in the city and a car in the morning
Many Barrie visitors skip the late drive home. A game that ends at ten, a dinner that runs long or a conference reception are good reasons to stay at the hotel and be collected in the morning. If your chauffeur needs to stay too, overnight trips with the chauffeur staying over are arranged at booking, as is a second chauffeur on very long days.
For a night out, remember that alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles. The chauffeur is how you get to and from a dinner, not a mobile bar; for a late night the safest plan is a room you can walk to and a car in the morning.
Conferences, trade shows and Bay Street meetings
The Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the hotels around it host conferences and trade shows throughout the year. For a delegation from Barrie, a Sprinter takes up to fourteen to a single door, and a first-class sedan suits the executive who should arrive composed. Our corporate car service page and the executive roadshows article cover accounts and itineraries.
For the auto show and other big events, our trade shows article and Toronto events page explain the transport side. We do not print event dates; confirm them with the organiser.
Drive yourself or hire a car?
Driving yourself to a downtown Toronto hotel costs less in fares and more in everything else: the Highway 400 and Gardiner traffic, hotel parking fees (the hotel states them), and loading and unloading at a busy entrance. A chauffeur costs more in fare and gives you the journey back as time. A taxi or rideshare is fine for a short ride inside the city and we do not compete there.
A fair rule: if you are going downtown for a few hours and travelling alone, GO Transit or your own car is reasonable. If you have luggage, a group, an appointment you cannot miss or a late return, a fixed-fare private car is worth pricing. The Barrie limo prices guide explains how our fares are built.
Winter, the 400 and the Gardiner
Barrie is in Ontario's snowbelt, and lake-effect squalls from Georgian Bay can slow Highway 400 between November and March. Add Toronto's own winter, and a 75-minute run can double. We check Ontario 511 and the forecast, fit winter tires and leave margin, and for a fixed appointment we recommend leaving early.
If a blizzard is forecast, the better plan is often to go down the evening before and stay in the hotel. Our Highway 400 winter travel guide explains what to watch for.
Luggage, families, pets and wheelchairs
A business sedan takes three passengers and three bags, a business SUV five and five, an executive SUV or luxury minivan six and six, and an executive Sprinter up to fourteen. Child, toddler and booster seats are from $25 each, added at booking. Pets need prior approval: ask at booking and wait for written confirmation. Service animals are welcome; mention them at booking. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available in advance; tell us about the wheelchair or scooter.
See the fleet page. Cancellation is by the sitewide rule: more than 72 hours before pickup is free; 72 hours or less is 10 %; 48 hours or less is 50 %; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100 %.
Book your downtown Toronto hotel ride
Open /book/, enter your Barrie address, the hotel, the date and time, the number of travellers and the vehicle, and the engine returns a fixed fare. Concierges, executive assistants and travel agents can book directly for guests, and our travel desk can arrange the flight and the hotel in the same file.
