A Barrie to Union Station limo with BarrieLimo.net is a planning range of $420–485 for a business sedan, all-in plus HST, covering about 114 km in 75–105 minutes. Tolls are included and the reservation engine shows one fixed fare before you confirm. It is the door-to-door alternative to the GO train from Barrie, and it works in both directions.
Barrie to Union Station limo: fares, distance and drive time
The table shows planning ranges for a one-way transfer between downtown Barrie and Union Station in downtown Toronto, in either direction. Every figure is all-in: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, the 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, and gratuity. HST appears as a separate line when you book your Barrie to Union Station car.
| Vehicle | Passengers / bags | Barrie ↔ Union Station (one way) | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | 3 / 3 | $420–485 | about 114 km | 75–105 min |
| Business SUV | 5 / 5 | $550–630 | about 114 km | 75–105 min |
| Luxury minivan | 6 / 6 | quoted by the engine | about 114 km | 75–105 min |
| Executive SUV | 6 / 6 | $660–760 | about 114 km | 75–105 min |
| First-class sedan | 3 / 3 | $1,010–1,160 | about 114 km | 75–105 min |
| Sprinter | up to 14 | $1,550–1,780 | about 114 km | 80–110 min |
| Jet Sprinter (VIP lounge) | 7 / 5 | $2,120–2,440 | about 114 km | 80–110 min |
These are planning figures, not a quote. The reservation engine prices your exact pickup address, date, time and vehicle and shows a single fixed number before you confirm. There is no meter running through a downtown rush hour and no surge on a Friday evening.
What the fixed Barrie to Union Station fare includes
The fare covers the chauffeur and vehicle, fuel, the 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, and gratuity; HST is the only line shown separately. A chauffeur heading into the city can therefore take the tolled 407 ETR when it saves time without asking you to approve a charge.
Station pickups are train-tracked, so the chauffeur is positioned for your actual arrival rather than the timetable. Included waiting on a station pickup is 15 minutes from the actual arrival, then 15-minute blocks, and dispatch tells you before extra time begins. Where the car waits is agreed in your confirmation, because Union Station is a busy building with limited kerb space.
How to book your Barrie to Union Station limo in four steps
Booking is direct on this site, with no app and no aggregator in between.
- Open the reservation engine, enter your Barrie pickup address and choose Union Station as the destination, or the reverse for a train arrival.
- Choose the date and time. For a train departure, work back from the departure time with margin; for an arrival, enter the train details in the booking notes.
- Pick the vehicle for your party and bags, add child seats (from $25 each) if needed, and read the fixed fare.
- Confirm. Dispatch tracks the train and positions the chauffeur.
If you have meetings before the train, or errands on the way, book an hourly chauffeur and keep the car with you.
GO train from Barrie to Union Station: what to know
GO Transit's Barrie line runs between Allandale Waterfront GO, the terminus on the Barrie waterfront, and Union Station, with a stop at Barrie South GO and others along the way, including Bradford. It is a real option and a good one for plenty of travellers. Because timetables and fares change, we do not print them here; GO Transit publishes the current schedule, the days of operation and the fare.
When you check, look carefully at three things: the time of the first and last train on the day you are travelling, whether there is service on a weekend or holiday, and how you will get to and from the station at each end. The line is built around commuter patterns, so a late-evening or off-peak return is the most common reason a Barrie traveller needs a plan B. Our pages on Allandale Waterfront GO and Barrie South GO cover the station end.
When the GO train is right and when a car wins
The train is the honest answer for a solo traveller with a daytime appointment, light luggage and a timetable that fits. It is likely to cost less than a private car, and we would not tell you otherwise. A car earns its fare in different situations:
- The last mile. Getting to Allandale or Barrie South, or from Union to a hotel, with luggage.
- Late returns. A show, a dinner or a meeting that finishes after the last convenient train.
- Luggage and children. A pram, four suitcases and a toddler do not suit a platform.
- Groups. Four people in one SUV is one fare, not four tickets.
- Early starts. A pickup at your door at 5 a.m. is a different proposition from a station car park.
If more than one of those applies, the car is probably the better day. If none do, take the train.
Union Station to Barrie: late returns and missed connections
The return is where a chauffeur matters most. If your day in Toronto ends late, a car waiting at Union means you do not watch a timetable. Book the return at the same time as the outbound, or ask dispatch to arrange it when you know when you will finish. Because station pickups are train-tracked, a late train or a delayed connection moves the chauffeur's timing for you.
For an evening in the city, the best answer is often an hourly chauffeur that stays with you from the afternoon: the car waits outside the theatre or restaurant, you walk out, and you are home to Barrie without a connection. Our Barrie to downtown Toronto page covers the city itself.

Matching VIA Rail, UP Express and GO connections
Union Station is the hub for VIA Rail, GO Transit and UP Express, which links Union and Pearson Station at the airport. That is why so many Barrie trips start or end here: a long-distance train to another city, a GO connection to somewhere along the lakeshore, or the airport train.
If you are taking a VIA train, tell us the train and departure time at booking, and build in margin: a long-distance traveller with luggage needs more time at the station than a commuter. If you are connecting to the airport, a direct car to Pearson is often simpler than going via Union and UP Express, but the choice depends on your timing and your luggage. Union Station publishes its own information for visitors.
The route: Highway 400, the 401 and the downtown approach
The drive starts on Highway 400 from the interchanges at Mapleview Drive, Essa Road, Dunlop Street, Bayfield Street or Duckworth Street. At the top of Toronto the chauffeur chooses between the 401 and the 407 ETR, then one of the downtown approaches, such as the Don Valley Parkway or the Gardiner Expressway, depending on what is moving. Union Station sits at the south end of the core, so the last few kilometres are city streets.
The chauffeur decides on the day. On a weekday morning the downtown approach is slow whichever way you go; on a Sunday it is often quick. Live conditions are on Ontario 511, and the chauffeur is watching them for you.
When to leave Barrie for a train at Union Station
The drive is about 75 minutes on a clear road and can reach 105 or more in a weekday rush or a winter squall. Here is how dispatch plans pickups from downtown Barrie:
- Early morning (5:00–6:30 a.m. pickups): the lightest traffic, 75–85 minutes.
- Morning rush (6:30–9:30 a.m.): the 400, the 401 and the downtown approaches are heavy. Plan 90–105 minutes.
- Midday (9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.): usually 80–90 minutes.
- Afternoon rush (3–7 p.m.): plan 90–105 minutes.
- Evenings and weekends: 75–90 minutes, except holiday Fridays and long-weekend Sundays.
Then add your train's check-in margin. For a long-distance train, ask the carrier what it recommends; for a GO train you already have a ticket, so the margin is the walk from the car to the platform.

Snow squalls and cottage-weekend traffic
Barrie is in Ontario's snowbelt. Lake-effect squalls off Georgian Bay can slow or close stretches of Highway 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 with little warning from November to March, and the same squall can leave downtown Toronto dry. On a squall day, bring the pickup forward by 30 to 45 minutes. A train does not wait for a car stuck on the 400.
From Victoria Day to Thanksgiving, northbound traffic builds on Friday afternoons and southbound traffic on Sunday afternoons, worst on long weekends. If your train gets you in on a summer Friday and you want to be home in Barrie, the drive is slower than the timetable suggests. See our Highway 400 winter travel guide and Environment Canada.
Taxi, app ride or private car from Barrie to Union Station?
A metered taxi's total depends on traffic, which on this route means you cannot know the figure until the end, and a taxi from Barrie often cannot wait in Toronto for the return. An app ride changes with demand. Both can suit a one-off trip. A pre-booked car from BarrieLimo.net is a fixed fare, shown before you confirm, with the 407 and bridge tolls inside it, in a commercial vehicle with a professional chauffeur.
We are not the cheapest option and do not claim to be. If you want the lowest price and the timetable fits, the train is the honest answer. If you want a fixed number, a car at your door and no connections, our corporate car service and private chauffeur service are built for that.
Luggage, groups and child seats
A business sedan carries three passengers and three bags. A business SUV carries five and five, and a luxury minivan or executive SUV six and six. A Sprinter carries up to 14, which suits a delegation or a group heading for a long-distance train together.
Child seats (infant, child, toddler or booster) are available on request from $25 each; add them at booking. Pets need prior approval: request it at booking and wait for written confirmation. Service animals are welcome. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if booked in advance; tell us about the wheelchair or scooter. Alcohol is not permitted in our vehicles.
Hourly chauffeur: a day in Toronto from Union Station
BarrieLimo.net's lead product is the hourly private chauffeur: one car and one professional chauffeur kept for a 3-hour minimum or all day. A sedan is $135–160 an hour, a business SUV $175–205 and an executive SUV $225–265, plus HST.
It suits the Barrie executive who takes the car to Union Station, steps off a train from another city and wants to go straight to meetings, or the family spending a day at the city's attractions with a car waiting at each stop. A four-hour sedan booking is $540–640 all-in plus HST. The car waits, your coat and bags stay in the trunk and there is no meter. Our hourly vs point-to-point guide helps you decide.
Game days and events near Union Station
Union Station is close to the arena and the stadium on the downtown waterfront, and event days change the kerb. On a game or concert night the streets around the station fill with people and cars, and the best pickup is usually not the one you would choose on a quiet Tuesday. Tell dispatch you are going to an event, and the chauffeur will plan the approach and the pickup point with you.
Our blog covers the practicalities of game-day limos from Barrie and the concert limo to the Budweiser Stage and Scotiabank Arena. For a longer visit, Destination Toronto lists what is on.
A car to the Barrie GO station, and the train for the rest
Some travellers take the train but want a car at the Barrie end. A short local run within Barrie is a planning range of $110–125 for a business sedan (up to 10 km, 5–20 minutes), and local trips carry per-class minimums, so a car to the station and the GO train for the long leg is a sensible mix for some days. It makes most sense with luggage, with an early departure when you do not want to park, or when a late train gets you back to Barrie after the buses have stopped.
Round trips and one-way returns
Book both legs on the reservation engine at once or add the return when you know your finish time. A return from Union Station is train-tracked, so a delay moves the chauffeur with you. If you are not sure when your day will end, an hourly booking that keeps the car with you is simpler than guessing; ask dispatch to sense-check the choice. The fare for each leg is shown before you confirm.
Cancellations, changes and the travel desk
More than 72 hours before pickup, no charge. At 72 hours or less, 10 %; 48 hours or less, 50 %; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 %, all measured from the scheduled pickup. A delayed train is handled by tracking, not by a cancellation.
If your trip is bigger than the car, such as a train, a flight and a hotel, our travel desk with BookingWorldwide.net handles flights, hotels and packages, and a chauffeur can be added to the same trip. See the Union Station page for the station itself, or browse all routes. When you are ready, book your Barrie to Union Station car.
