A Barrie to Billy Bishop Airport limo with BarrieLimo.net is a planning range of $445–510 for a business sedan, all-in plus HST, covering about 115 km in 80–110 minutes. The 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route are included, the car stops at the airport's Eireann Quay pickup and drop-off, and the reservation engine shows one fixed fare before you confirm.
Barrie to Billy Bishop Airport limo: fares, distance and drive time
The table shows planning ranges for a one-way transfer between downtown Barrie and the mainland terminal of Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport (YTZ), in either direction. Every figure is all-in: chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, the 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, airport fees and gratuity. HST appears as a separate line when you book your Barrie to Billy Bishop transfer.
| Vehicle | Passengers / bags | Barrie ↔ Billy Bishop (one way) | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | 3 / 3 | $445–510 | about 115 km | 80–110 min |
| Business SUV | 5 / 5 | $580–665 | about 115 km | 80–110 min |
| Luxury minivan | 6 / 6 | $670–765 | about 115 km | 80–110 min |
| Executive SUV | 6 / 6 | $710–815 | about 115 km | 80–110 min |
| First-class sedan | 3 / 3 | $1,155–1,325 | about 115 km | 80–110 min |
| Sprinter | up to 14 | $1,780–2,040 | about 115 km | 85–115 min |
| Jet Sprinter (VIP lounge) | 7 / 5 | $2,450–2,805 | about 115 km | 85–115 min |
These are planning figures, not a quote. The reservation engine prices your exact pickup address, date, time and vehicle and shows a single fixed number before you confirm. It does not run on a meter, and a stop-and-go Gardiner on a game night does not change the figure.
Why fly from Billy Bishop instead of Pearson?
Billy Bishop is a small airport on the Toronto Island with the downtown core minutes away. For a Barrie traveller whose meetings, hotel or event are downtown, it can make the whole trip tidier: you land close to where you are going, and a short hop to the city centre replaces the long run up the 427 and across the top of the airport zone. For a traveller whose destination is the suburbs or beyond, Pearson is usually the more natural gateway because it is closer, at about 97 km, and has the widest choice of routes.
The decision usually comes down to your airline and your final destination, not to the drive. Check which airport your ticket uses on the airport's own site, and treat any change of airport as a change to your pickup time, not just your pickup address.
What the fixed fare includes
The fare covers the chauffeur and vehicle, fuel, the 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, airport fees and gratuity; HST is the only line shown separately. Because the price is fixed, a long weekday run into the city does not cost more for taking the quickest road, and the chauffeur can use the tolled 407 ETR when it saves time without asking you to approve a charge.
Included waiting on an airport pickup is counted from actual landing: 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights, which covers most Billy Bishop arrivals, and 60 minutes on other international arrivals. After that waiting is billed in 15-minute blocks. Flight tracking is on every airport pickup, so a late landing moves the chauffeur's timing for you.
How to book your Barrie to Billy Bishop airport limo
Booking is direct on this site, with no app and no aggregator in between.
- Open the reservation engine and enter your Barrie pickup address, then choose Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport as the drop-off (or the reverse for an arrival).
- Choose the date and time, working back from your flight: the guide below gives timing by hour of day.
- Pick the vehicle for your party and bags, add child seats (from $25 each) if needed, and read the fixed fare.
- Confirm. Dispatch tracks your flight from there.
If you need a stop on the way, such as a meeting on Bay Street before the flight, book an hourly chauffeur instead and keep the car and chauffeur with you.
Where the car stops: Eireann Quay, the tunnel and the ferry
The airport is on the island, and the road does not go there. According to the airport, passengers reach it by a pedestrian tunnel from the mainland or by a ferry, and taxis and limousines drop off and collect at the street address, Eireann Quay, at the foot of Bathurst Street. That is where your chauffeur stops. From there you walk through the tunnel or take the ferry to the terminal on the island, and on the way back you do the same in reverse.
Two practical points follow. First, allow extra time for the tunnel or ferry on top of check-in; the airport's own site lists the current options and what to expect. Second, you carry your own bags through the tunnel, so pack for it: wheeled cases are easy, an oversized box is a project. If anyone in your party needs help or a wheelchair, tell us when you book and see our note on accessible vehicles on the Billy Bishop airport page.

The route: Highway 400, the 401 and the Gardiner
The drive starts as every Barrie drive south does: Highway 400 from the interchanges at Mapleview Drive, Essa Road, Dunlop Street, Bayfield Street or Duckworth Street. At the top of Toronto the chauffeur chooses between the 401 and the 407 ETR, then one of the downtown approaches, the Gardiner Expressway, Lake Shore Boulevard or city streets, depending on what is moving.
The chauffeur decides on the day, not from a script. A weekday-morning run is slow whichever road you take; a Sunday morning is often fast. Waterfront congestion is its own variable. When there is a game, a concert or a big event downtown, the streets around the foot of Bathurst Street fill up, and a chauffeur who has done it before knows to come in early and from the right side. Live conditions are on Ontario 511.
When to leave Barrie for a Billy Bishop flight
The drive is about 80 minutes on a clear road and can reach 110 or more in a weekday rush or a winter squall. Here is how dispatch plans pickups from downtown Barrie:
- Pre-dawn (4:00–6:00 a.m. pickups): the lightest traffic, 80–85 minutes.
- Morning rush (6:00–9:30 a.m.): the southbound 400, the 401 and the downtown approaches are all heavy. Plan 95–110 minutes.
- Midday (9:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.): usually 85–95 minutes.
- Afternoon rush (3–7 p.m.): plan 95–110 minutes, longer on game nights.
- Evenings and weekends: 80–95 minutes, except holiday Fridays and long-weekend Sundays.
Then add your airline's recommended arrival time and the time for the tunnel or ferry. A pickup that gives you a comfortable margin is a better plan than a tight one. If in doubt, dispatch will sense-check your choice.
Snow squalls, cottage traffic and the 400
Barrie sits in Ontario's snowbelt, and lake-effect squalls off Georgian Bay can slow or close sections of Highway 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 with little warning from November to March. A squall that holds up Barrie may not touch downtown Toronto, so the weather at the airport tells you nothing about the road you will drive. On a squall day, bring the pickup forward by 30 to 45 minutes and tell dispatch.
From Victoria Day to Thanksgiving, cottage traffic builds northbound on Friday afternoons and southbound on Sunday afternoons, worst on long weekends. A Sunday-evening flight into the island airport, followed by the drive home, can be a slow one, which is another reason a chauffeur who knows the alternatives is worth having. Check Environment Canada and our Highway 400 winter travel guide.
Billy Bishop to Barrie: how the arrivals pickup works
On the way home the process is simple. Dispatch tracks your actual landing, not the scheduled time, and the chauffeur is waiting at Eireann Quay on the mainland side. You walk through the tunnel or take the ferry back from the island terminal, so build that walk into your thinking: it is part of the time between landing and reaching the car.
Curbside pickup at the commercial pickup area is what the fare includes. Message or call the chauffeur when you are through the tunnel or off the ferry, and the car is brought to you. If you would like to be met by a chauffeur with a name board on the mainland side, add meet and greet on the booking form; it is an optional add-on and is useful for first-time visitors and anyone with a lot of luggage. Our blog explains flight tracking and meet and greet in detail.

Is there a train from Barrie to Billy Bishop?
There is no direct train. The public-transit route is the GO train from Allandale Waterfront or Barrie South to Union Station, then another leg to the waterfront. The airport lists public transit and an airport shuttle among its access options, and the TTC and GO Transit publish their own times and fares. We do not print schedules because they change; check them live, especially for early mornings, evenings and weekends.
The GO option is the budget choice for a daytime traveller with one bag and time to spare. It is a harder day with two suitcases, a child or a flight before sunrise. Where a car fits is the last mile, the late return, the luggage and the group: a chauffeur from Union Station to the airport, or all the way from Barrie, is one fare per vehicle and no connections.
Taxi, app ride or private car from Barrie to Billy Bishop?
A metered taxi's fare depends on traffic, which on this route means a figure you cannot know until the end. An app ride changes with demand. Neither is wrong for a one-off trip with flexible timing. A pre-booked car from BarrieLimo.net is a fixed fare, shown before you confirm, with the 407 and bridge tolls inside it, a commercial vehicle and a professional chauffeur, and a dispatcher who watches the flight.
We do not claim to be the cheapest, because we are not. If price is the only thing that matters, shared shuttles and transit are honest alternatives, and you may well choose them. If you value a fixed number, a car at your door at the time you chose and no connections, our airport limo service is built for that.
Hourly chauffeur: a day downtown, then the flight
BarrieLimo.net's lead product is the hourly private chauffeur: one car and one professional chauffeur kept for a 3-hour minimum or all day. A sedan is $135–160 an hour, a business SUV $175–205 and an executive SUV $225–265, plus HST.
This is how many Barrie executives use the island airport. The car collects you at home, takes you to a morning meeting, waits through lunch with your luggage in the trunk, then runs you to Eireann Quay for the evening flight. A four-hour sedan booking is $540–640 all-in plus HST, with no meter running. See our private chauffeur service and the Barrie to downtown Toronto page for the city itself.
Groups, luggage and child seats
A business sedan carries three passengers and three bags. A business SUV carries five and five, and a luxury minivan or executive SUV six and six. A Sprinter carries up to 14. Bags that fit a car but not the tunnel are a real consideration, so travel light on this route if you can.
Child seats (infant, child, toddler or booster) are available from $25 each; add them at booking. Pets need prior approval: request it at booking and wait for written confirmation. Service animals are welcome. Alcohol is not permitted in our vehicles. For families, see our guide to child seats and family airport transfers.
A hotel stay downtown before or after your flight
Many Billy Bishop trips include a night. Our downtown Toronto hotel transfers page covers where cars stop, and a concierge or planner can book direct on behalf of a guest. We drive to hotels and do not imply any affiliation with them. If you are choosing a hotel, Destination Toronto lists what is open and where.
If the trip is a weekend in the city rather than a flight, the Barrie to downtown Toronto page has the fares and timing for that. If your plan includes a Toronto concert or game, see the blog on Leafs, Raptors and Jays game-day limo from Barrie.
Round trips and returning the same day
Many Barrie travellers fly out and back from the island airport within a day or two. Book both legs at once on the reservation engine: the outbound with your departure time, and the return with your arrival flight number so the chauffeur tracks the landing. You see each fare before you confirm, and a late or early arrival needs no phone call. If the return is the same evening, an hourly booking that keeps the car waiting near the waterfront may suit better; ask dispatch to sense-check it.
If the airline changes your flight
Airlines retime, delay and cancel flights, and an island airport can be affected by weather like any other. Because the pickup is tracked against your actual flight, a delay moves the chauffeur's timing with no action from you. If the flight is cancelled or moved to another airport, contact dispatch as early as you can; a change to a different airport is a change to the trip, and the sitewide cancellation terms below apply from the scheduled pickup time.
Cancellations, changes and the travel desk
More than 72 hours before pickup, no charge. At 72 hours or less, 10 %; 48 hours or less, 50 %; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 %, all measured from the scheduled pickup. A flight delay is handled by tracking, not by a cancellation.
