BarrieLimo.net provides limo and black car service for Angus, Essa Township and CFB Borden from its Barrie dispatch desk: a business sedan between downtown Barrie and Angus or Borden is a planning $165–190 all-in plus HST for about 20 km in 20–30 minutes, and Pearson from downtown Barrie is $380–440. An hourly chauffeur is $135–160 an hour. Book direct for a fixed fare.
Angus and CFB Borden limo service, fixed fare and no surge
Essa Township lies south-west of Barrie, and its largest community is Angus. At the 2021 census Essa had 22,970 residents, and the neighbouring Canadian Forces Base Borden brings a large military and civilian population into the same area. People search for "CFB Borden" far more often than for "Angus limo", so the audience here is mixed: residents of Angus and the surrounding hamlets, families visiting someone on the base, trainees travelling in and out, and civilians who work there.
A limo or black car in this part of Simcoe County is, above all, a practical tool: an early flight from Pearson, a long weekend leave that starts at the airport, a family arriving for a graduation, a medical day in Barrie. Choose your vehicle and pickup on the BarrieLimo.net booking engine and see the fixed fare first. Our cities and towns page lists the other places we serve.
Essa Township: Angus, Thornton, Baxter and the hamlets
Essa is a farming township, known in particular for potato farming, and it is made of several communities:
- Angus: the largest community, with homes, shops and the road links to Barrie and the base.
- Thornton and Baxter: smaller communities where a street number plus the nearest crossroads is enough.
- Hamlets such as Utopia, Ivy, Colwell, Egbert and Cedargrove: rural addresses, where a concession number and a landmark help.
- CFB Borden: a military base inside the township, with its own access rules (more on that below).
The township's boundaries include County Road 90 on the north, County Road 27 on the east and Highway 89 on the south. If your address has a long laneway or a gate, put it in the booking notes and the chauffeur will confirm before arrival.
Angus taxi, CFB Borden taxi or a private car? An honest comparison
People search for an Angus taxi, a Base Borden taxi and a CFB Borden taxi, and each of those is a fair question: a local cab is a sensible choice for a short ride around town or onto the base. In a rural township, taxi coverage can be thin at night and on weekends, so a pre-booked ride is more dependable than a phone call at 5 a.m.
A private car earns its price when the trip is planned, long or time-critical: a Pearson flight, a late return, a family with luggage, or a day with several stops. The fare is fixed and shown before you confirm, the vehicle is a late-model black sedan or SUV, there is no surge, and our desk tracks your flight. We do not operate taxis, and for a short local hop the cheaper option is the right one.
Angus to Pearson airport: fare, distance and time
Angus is about 20 km from downtown Barrie, and the Pearson run starts with the leg into Barrie and the Highway 400 southbound ramp. We print the reference fare from downtown Barrie, so you have a firm planning number, and the engine quotes the exact fare from your Angus address.

|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Barrie to Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | about 97 km | 60–85 min | $380–440 |
| Same trip, business SUV | about 97 km | 60–85 min | $490–565 |

The fare includes tolls on the planned route (including the 407 ETR when used), airport fees and gratuity. Every airport pickup is flight-tracked, with 30 minutes of included waiting after landing on Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals; curbside pickup at the terminal's commercial area is what the fare includes. See Barrie to Pearson airport for timing by hour, and the Pearson transportation page for terminals.

CFB Borden: what we can and cannot do
Canadian Forces Base Borden was established in 1916 and, according to the Department of National Defence, is the largest training establishment in the Canadian Armed Forces, training about 20,000 military personnel a year. It is a controlled military site. The department's CFB Borden page gives general information about the base; for visitor access, ask your host or the base's own offices.
For passengers, that means three practical points. We will drive you to the base boundary or the gate and follow the base's access instructions, but entry is for the base to grant, not us. Please bring the identification the base asks for, and arrange visitor access with your host before you travel. If you are unsure, ask your host or the base. We are not affiliated with the Department of National Defence or with any military organisation.
Families visiting trainees and graduation days
Parents, partners and children often travel to see someone on a course at the base, and the days are typically fixed in advance by the training schedule. A family arriving from out of province usually lands at Pearson and wants one car for the whole group, luggage included. A business SUV or an executive SUV handles a family of up to six with bags; a luxury minivan is easy to enter with children and car seats; a Sprinter suits an extended group.
Because the date is fixed and the arrival is time-sensitive, a booking made well ahead gives you a fixed fare and flight tracking, with 30 minutes of included waiting after landing on Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals. Child seats are available from $25 each at booking.
Pearson to Borden: leave, arrival and travel days
Trainees and staff fly into and out of Pearson on leave, on course and on posting travel. For one traveller on a tight budget, public transit and shared shuttles are legitimate options, and we say so. For two or more, for heavy bags, or for a flight that lands late, a private car from Pearson to Angus or the base is door to door, priced per vehicle and tracked to the actual landing time.
The route from Pearson is the reverse of the northbound run: Highway 400 north to Barrie, then out the Highway 90 corridor (Dunlop Street West inside Barrie) toward Angus. Check the Pearson airport page for terminal pickup, and read our red-eye arrivals guide for late landings.

The Base Borden Military Museum
The Base Borden Military Museum is on the grounds of the base and displays equipment, vehicles and aircraft from different eras of Canadian military history, with large pieces shown outdoors in a memorial park. Because the museum is inside a controlled base, confirm access and hours before you plan a visit; a museum or base office is the right source, and we have no role in granting entry. A visit is a pleasant hourly booking for a family or a group of veterans: the chauffeur drops you at the arranged point, waits, and takes you home.
Hourly chauffeur from Angus
The hourly private chauffeur is our lead product: one car and one chauffeur kept for a three-hour minimum or a whole day. Planning rates, all-in plus HST: business sedan $135–160 an hour, business SUV $175–205, executive SUV $225–265, first-class sedan $350–410 and Sprinter $475–550. Extra time is in 30-minute blocks, and a four-hour sedan booking is about $540–640.
Typical Essa days: a morning of appointments in Barrie, a farm owner meeting suppliers across several concessions, a family day around the base, or a delegation touring Simcoe County. Our hourly chauffeur service page explains the clock, and the hourly vs point-to-point guide helps you decide.
The Highway 90 corridor and Highway 89
The main route between Barrie and Angus follows the Highway 90 corridor, which becomes Dunlop Street West inside Barrie. Highway 89 forms the township's southern boundary and links the area with Cookstown and Alliston. The Alliston run from downtown Barrie is about 45 km, 40 to 50 minutes and a planning $240–275; see the Alliston page. Highway 89 meets Highway 400 at Cookstown, which matters in winter because squalls can slow or close the 400 between Barrie and Highway 89.
Rural pickups: potato fields, farm lanes and gravel concessions
Much of Essa is farmland, and rural pickups have their own habits. A farm lane can be long and soft after rain, a concession road can be gravel, and a house number may be hard to see from the road. Tell us about gates, dogs, gravel and any turnaround space when you book, and the chauffeur will confirm the plan before arrival. Larger vehicles such as a Sprinter need a wider turn, so ask us if you plan a group pickup.
Winter squalls and the snowbelt
Essa sits in the snowbelt, and squalls can cut visibility quickly from November to March. Concession roads are plowed on a priority schedule after the highways, and some are drifted shut in a strong wind. Our chauffeurs check Ontario 511 before airport runs, dispatchers bring departures forward after a snowfall, and the fleet runs on winter tires for the season. See the Highway 400 winter travel guide. If a closure forces a longer route, the fare you confirmed does not change.
Medical days at Royal Victoria Hospital
For Angus and Borden residents, the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) in Barrie is the nearest large hospital, and medical days are a steady share of daytime bookings. Book hourly for more than one appointment: the chauffeur waits, helps with a walker or bag, and takes you home. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle can be booked in advance if you tell us about the wheelchair or scooter. The RVH website lists entrances and parking, and our medical appointment transportation page explains the arrangements.
Weddings, anniversaries and rural celebrations
Weddings and anniversaries in the township often take place at farms, halls and country venues. A first-class sedan or SUV suits the couple, and a Sprinter suits a wedding party of up to fourteen; stretch limousines, Rolls-Royce models and party buses are partner vehicles from vetted operators and are priced in writing. Alcohol is not allowed on board any vehicle. Read our wedding limo page and the how to book a wedding limo guide for timelines.
Early flights and late returns
A Pearson departure from Angus starts with the same arithmetic as from Barrie: work backwards from the check-in deadline, not the flight time, and allow extra for weekday mornings, summer Friday afternoons and snow. The early morning flights guide offers a checklist. Meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is an optional add-on chosen on the booking form.
Which vehicle for an Essa trip
- Business sedan (3 passengers, 3 bags): airport runs and meetings.
- Business SUV (5/5): four-wheel drive for gravel and snow.
- Executive SUV (6/6): families with luggage.
- Luxury minivan (6/6): easy entry and car seats.
- Sprinter (up to 14): groups and wedding parties.
Pets need prior written approval, service animals are welcome, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles can be booked in advance.
Booking direct, what the fare includes and cancellation
Book on BarrieLimo.net rather than through an app or marketplace. The engine shows the fixed all-in fare with HST separate, covering the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route, airport fees and gratuity, and there is no surge. Included waiting is 15 minutes on non-airport pickups, then 15-minute blocks. Cancellation is measured from scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours ahead is free, 72 hours or less 10 per cent, 48 hours or less 50 per cent, and 24 hours or less or a no-show 100 per cent. Flights and hotels can be arranged through the travel desk.
