A car service to Muskoka from BarrieLimo.net is a fixed all-in fare, shown before you confirm: planning ranges for a business sedan are $310–355 to Gravenhurst (70 km, 45–55 minutes), $370–425 to Bracebridge and $490–565 to Huntsville (130 km, 80–95 minutes), plus HST. Car service to Muskoka: what you are booking
Muskoka is where Ontario goes on summer weekends, and the road in is the problem. A car service to Muskoka from BarrieLimo.net puts a professional chauffeur and one private vehicle between your door in Barrie, Simcoe County or the Toronto area and the dock, lodge or cottage lane at the other end. The fare is fixed on the reservation engine before you confirm: it covers the chauffeur, the vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route, gratuity and any airport fee, with HST shown separately. There is no meter and no surge when the 400 turns into a car park on a Friday afternoon.
This page is about cottage country as a service. If you want the town-by-town picture, see Muskoka: Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Port Carling and the Barrie to Muskoka route page. If you want to see every other service we run, start at the services hub.
Planning fares from Barrie to Muskoka
These are one-way planning ranges from downtown Barrie, all-in plus HST, with the distance and drive time you should plan around. Larger vehicles are the business-sedan range multiplied by the class factor for trips of 40 km or more, rounded to the nearest $5. The reservation engine quotes your exact address, date and vehicle.

Orillia, the gateway to cottage country, is closer: $215–245 for a business sedan, 38 km and 30–35 minutes. Every figure is a planning range, and a Sprinter for a family reunion is the sedan range times four; see the vehicle section below.
How far is Muskoka from Barrie, and which way do you go?
From downtown Barrie you join Highway 400 northbound, and Highway 11 leaves the 400 just north of the city for Orillia, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville. That is the spine of cottage country. Gravenhurst is about 70 km and 45–55 minutes away. Bracebridge adds another 20 km. Port Carling is reached from Bracebridge on Muskoka Road 118, which is why it is the slowest of the three despite being only 20 km beyond. Huntsville and the Lake of Bays are 130 km out on the same highway; Algonquin Provincial Park lies beyond Huntsville on Highway 60. If your cottage is on the Georgian Bay side, the 400 itself carries on to Port Severn and Parry Sound.
Friday afternoon northbound, Sunday afternoon southbound
From Victoria Day to Thanksgiving, cottage traffic clogs the 400 and Highway 11 northbound on Friday afternoons and southbound on Sunday afternoons. It is worst on long weekends. The drive times in the table are what you should plan on a quiet weekday; on a holiday Friday they can stretch a long way past the top of the range. A chauffeur does not make the traffic disappear, but dispatch plans departure times around it, watches Ontario 511 before leaving, and will tell you honestly when a 1 p.m. start beats a 3 p.m. one. Many families book a Thursday evening or a Friday morning run for exactly this reason.
Book the chauffeur by the hour for cottage days
The lead product at BarrieLimo.net is the hourly private chauffeur, and cottage country is where it earns its keep. Instead of a one-way drop, you keep one car and one chauffeur for a 3-hour minimum or a whole day: the grocery run in Bracebridge, the hardware store, the marina, a dinner in Gravenhurst, the waiting while the boat is launched. Planning rates are $135–160 an hour for a business sedan, $175–205 for a business SUV, $225–265 for an executive SUV and $475–550 for a Sprinter, all-in plus HST. Extra time is added in 30-minute blocks. Our guide to hourly versus point to point shows when each wins, and the hourly chauffeur page explains how the clock runs.
Opening and closing weekends
Opening the cottage in May and closing it after Thanksgiving are the heaviest-luggage trips of the year: bedding, water-system supplies, bikes, the last of the garden, a dog in the back. An executive SUV seats six with six bags and is the usual choice; a luxury minivan has sliding doors and low loading. For the full logistics see our page on cottage weekends and family arrivals and the blog guide to cottage opening and closing transfers. Tell us at booking how much you are carrying so the right vehicle is dispatched.
Toronto and Pearson to Muskoka by way of Barrie
Searches such as "Toronto to Muskoka car service" and "Pearson to Muskoka" come from people who land or start in the Greater Toronto Area and are heading north through Barrie. The Barrie-based fare table above is measured from downtown Barrie; for a pickup at Toronto Pearson or in the city, enter both addresses on the booking page and the engine shows the fixed fare for the whole run before you confirm. Barrie to Pearson alone is $380–440 for a sedan, about 97 km and 60–85 minutes; see Pearson airport transfers and the Barrie to Pearson route. We do not print a Pearson-to-dock figure here because it depends on your exact pickup and dock addresses.
How to get to Muskoka without a car
The honest options, starting with the cheapest. Intercity coach operators such as Ontario Northland run buses along northern Ontario corridors; check their site for current routes and times. Muskoka Airport (YQA) in Gravenhurst is a small regional airport, and its page on our site, Muskoka Airport transfers, explains how we meet it. A rental car is the self-drive answer, and it is a fair one for a week-long stay when you will want to come and go yourself.
A private car earns its fare when the group is three or more, the luggage is heavy, the cottage is down a lane no coach reaches, the arrival is after dark, or you want the first drink at the dock rather than the first driving shift. Price-sensitive travellers should compare honestly; the fixed fare here covers a vehicle, not a seat.
Docks, lanes and water-access cottages
Many Muskoka properties are not on a street. Tell us the road address of the lane, or the marina or public dock where the boat will meet you, and the chauffeur will pull up as close as a road allows. Dispatch uses the address you give the engine, so a vague lake name will cost you time; a full road address and a cell number for the host will save it. Gravel lanes in April, when frost is leaving the ground, can be soft; tell us if the lane is steep or narrow so we send a suitable vehicle.
Dogs, children and car seats
Pets need prior approval: request it at booking and wait for written confirmation before you travel. Service animals are welcome and should be mentioned at booking. Infant, toddler and booster seats are available on request from $25 each; add them at booking. See Ontario's page on choosing a child car seat for the rules, and our blog guide on child seats and family airport rides.
Which vehicle for which cottage trip
- Business sedan: three passengers, three bags. Good for a couple or a business trip to a lodge.
- Business SUV: five passengers, five bags, Tahoe, Yukon or Expedition class. A good fit for four-wheel-drive traction on a snowy lane.
- Luxury minivan: six passengers and six bags with sliding doors for strollers and coolers.
- Executive SUV: six passengers, six bags: Escalade, Navigator or Suburban class.
- Sprinter: up to 14 passengers, the sedan range times four for a one-way run. A family reunion or wedding party fits in one vehicle; see Sprinter and group transportation.
Winter cottage runs
Muskoka in January is quiet, snowy and beautiful, and Barrie sits in Ontario's snowbelt: lake-effect squalls off Georgian Bay can close or slow Highway 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 with little warning from November to March. Every vehicle runs winter tires, chauffeurs check road conditions before leaving, and dispatch will suggest moving a departure if a squall warning is up. Our Highway 400 winter travel guide explains where the trouble spots are. Check Environment Canada before long winter trips.
Resorts, lodges and weddings
Resorts and lodges in Muskoka are places we drive to; we have no affiliation with any of them. For arrivals, departures and hourly use from the lobby, see Muskoka resorts and lodges. Wedding parties heading to a lakeside venue often book a Sprinter for guests and a partner stretch or a sedan for the couple; the wedding limo page explains how that works.
Day trips from Gravenhurst to Algonquin
Cottage country is also a day-trip region. The Muskoka Wharf in Gravenhurst is the base for the steamships; see Muskoka Steamships for current sailings. Bracebridge is home to Santa's Village; see our page on Santa's Village in Bracebridge. Algonquin Provincial Park is reached on Highway 60 beyond Huntsville; see the Algonquin page and Algonquin Park for park conditions and permits. A chauffeur by the hour turns any of these into a relaxed day with no parking and no driving home. The Muskoka attractions guide lists them in one place.

Muskoka from Barrie: the towns, in order
For planning purposes, think of cottage country as a string of towns along Highway 11. Orillia comes first, then Gravenhurst, then Bracebridge, then Huntsville. Official municipal information is on the District Municipality of Muskoka site, with local pages at Gravenhurst, Bracebridge, Muskoka Lakes and Huntsville. Visitor planning lives at Discover Muskoka. We list them here as places we drive to, not as partners.
What is included, and what is not
The fixed fare includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, fuel, any tolls on the planned route, any airport fees and gratuity. HST is shown separately. Waiting is 15 minutes on non-airport pickups, then 15-minute blocks. Meet-and-greet is an optional add-on for airports. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles: no drinking on board, including on the way to the cottage. Pets need prior approval. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter.
Cancellation and booking direct
Book on BarrieLimo.net's own reservation engine on the booking page. There is no app and no marketplace commission, and one dispatch desk handles the whole trip. Cancellation is measured from scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent. If your trip is part of a larger holiday, our travel desk arranges flights, hotels and packages with BookingWorldwide.net so the car is part of one file. See rates and fixed fares for the full picture.
