A Muskoka limo from Barrie runs 70 km to Gravenhurst ($310–355 one way, 45–55 minutes), 90 km to Bracebridge ($370–425, 60–70 minutes) and 130 km to Huntsville ($490–565, 80–95 minutes) in a business sedan, all-in. Most visitors book an hourly chauffeur from $135–160 per hour so one car covers every stop.
Muskoka limo and car service from Barrie: the short version
Muskoka is the lake district north of Barrie, reached on Highway 11 where Highway 400 turns toward Georgian Bay. It is not one town but a string of them: Gravenhurst at the southern gateway, Bracebridge and Port Carling on the central lakes, and Huntsville and Lake of Bays further north. Discover Muskoka, the region's tourism site, lists Gravenhurst, Muskoka Lakes, Bracebridge, Lake of Bays, Huntsville and Georgian Bay as its main areas. What makes a chauffeur sensible here is that the places you want are miles apart and the road is busiest exactly when you want to travel. With BarrieLimo.net you book a Muskoka car directly on our reservation engine, see a fixed all-in fare first, and choose between a one-way transfer and the hourly chauffeur service for a day that includes several towns.
Planning fares from Barrie to the Muskoka towns
These are planning ranges for a business sedan, all-in (chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route, gratuity) with HST shown separately. The reservation engine quotes the exact address, date and vehicle before you confirm.
| Trip (one way, business sedan) | Planning fare | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Barrie to Gravenhurst | $310–355 | 70 km | 45–55 min |
| Barrie to Muskoka Airport (YQA) | $340–390 | 80 km | 50–60 min |
| Barrie to Bracebridge | $370–425 | 90 km | 60–70 min |
| Barrie to Port Carling | $430–495 | 110 km | 75–90 min |
| Barrie to Huntsville | $490–565 | 130 km | 80–95 min |
| Barrie to Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | $380–440 | about 97 km | 60–85 min |
| Hourly, business sedan | $135–160 per hour | 3 h minimum | car stays with you |
| Hourly, executive SUV | $225–265 per hour | 3 h minimum | up to 6 guests |
A business SUV adds about 30 % to the sedan figure on trips like these, a luxury minivan about 50 % and an executive SUV about 60 %. Our Barrie limo price guide shows how that works.
Which Muskoka town is which?
Think of Muskoka as three bands. Gravenhurst is the southern gateway and the home of the Muskoka Wharf waterfront. Bracebridge and Port Carling sit on the central river-and-lake system; Bracebridge is the central town with a walkable main street and the best-placed base for a circuit. Huntsville and Lake of Bays are the northern pair and the usual jumping-off point for Algonquin Provincial Park. Each has its own town website with current events: the Town of Gravenhurst, the Town of Bracebridge, the Town of Huntsville and the Township of Muskoka Lakes. Those are the places to check dates, because many Muskoka attractions are seasonal and change from year to year. Our job is to put a car at your door and a chauffeur at your service for as many of them as one day allows.
Gravenhurst: Muskoka Wharf and the steamships
Gravenhurst is where many Muskoka days begin, because its waterfront is the home of Muskoka Steamships. The not-for-profit charity lists the heritage RMS Segwun and offers seasonal cruises from the wharf; its address is 185 Cherokee Lane, and the Muskoka Discovery Centre next door is at 275 Steamship Bay Road (Muskoka Steamships). Cruises and specialty sailings are seasonal, so check the operator's own schedule and tickets page and book the boat first. We then time the car to the sailing. It is a 70 km, 45 to 55 minute run from Barrie, and an hourly booking lets the chauffeur wait at the wharf while you sail and then carry you on to lunch in Bracebridge. Our companion piece Gravenhurst, Muskoka Wharf and the steamships goes deeper.

Bracebridge: the middle of Muskoka
Bracebridge is the best-placed town for a base. It is 90 km from Barrie, and the Town's own festivals page lists a calendar that runs through the year: the Bracebridge Fall Fair and Horse Show in September, a downtown Festival of Lights evening in November, Santa's Village Santafest on December weekends and a Fire and Ice winter carnival in late January (Town of Bracebridge events). Exact dates change yearly, so use the page rather than our summary. For families, Santa's Village is on Golden Beach Road in the Bracebridge area and has its own page here, with a seasons and tickets section that matters if you are planning a wait-and-return day.
Huntsville and Lake of Bays
Huntsville is 130 km from Barrie, 80 to 95 minutes in good conditions, and the northern anchor of the district. The Town describes itself as a gateway to Algonquin Provincial Park, and nearby are Arrowhead Provincial Park (about 1,237 hectares with 15 km of trails, three sand beaches, Stubb's Falls and the Big Bend Lookout, open year-round, with skating and skiing in winter, according to Ontario Parks) and Muskoka Heritage Place. Seasonal events include the Great Pumpkin Trail in October and a Thanksgiving train ride at Muskoka Heritage Place, both listed on official pages. For Huntsville as a destination of its own, see our Huntsville and Lake of Bays page, and for the park beyond it, Algonquin Provincial Park.
Highway 11, Highway 400 and the cottage-weekend squeeze
North of Barrie, Highway 400 continues toward Port Severn and Parry Sound while Highway 11 leaves it for Orillia, Gravenhurst, Bracebridge and Huntsville. From Victoria Day to Thanksgiving, cottage traffic fills Highway 11 and Highway 400 northbound on Friday afternoons and southbound on Sunday afternoons, and long weekends are the worst. That is the case for a chauffeur who knows when to leave: we may suggest a Thursday evening or a Saturday dawn start. Winter adds the snowbelt, where lake-effect snow can slow or close sections of Highway 400 and local roads with little notice. Check Ontario 511 before travel, and see our Highway 400 winter travel guide for how we handle it. Our Barrie to Muskoka route page lays out the corridor.
Things to do in Muskoka in one day: four stops on a sample hourly itinerary
Hourly shines on a circuit. Here is a plan we can build around the engine's quote. Morning: pick-up in Barrie and run to Gravenhurst for a booked cruise. Midday: drive to Bracebridge for lunch on the main street and a wander. Afternoon: carry on to Huntsville for a lookout at Arrowhead or a stroll downtown. Evening: home to Barrie. The chauffeur stays with the car and the car stays with you, so jackets, shopping bags and a cooler remain on board. Hourly rates are $135–160 for a business sedan and $225–265 for an executive SUV, with a 3-hour minimum, and the engine shows the all-in total before you confirm. Read what an hourly chauffeur is if you are comparing against separate one-way fares.
Cottage weekends, openings and closings
Many readers searching "Muskoka" own or rent a cottage rather than sightsee. For them the car is a luggage-and-people problem: groceries, bedding, a dog's crate, a canoe paddle. An executive SUV carries six people and six bags, a luxury minivan the same, and a Sprinter up to 14. We handle Friday arrivals and Sunday departures, spring openings and autumn closings, and the guests who arrive by air at Pearson and need a ride up. The cottage weekends and family arrivals page goes into that, and the cottage country car service is the booking page. Remember that alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, which matters on the ride up to a lake weekend.
Resorts, lodges and Muskoka hotels
Muskoka has a long tradition of resorts and lodges on its lakes, and the transfer from Barrie or the airport is a common booking. We drive guests to the resort of their choice; we do not operate any of them and are not affiliated with any, and we will not recommend one over another. Pick-up and drop-off points vary by property, so give us the exact lobby or dock when you book. Our Muskoka resorts and lodges page covers arrival logistics, and the travel desk can price a package that includes a hotel or resort stay with the car. If your stay includes a wedding or event, ask for the partner stretch limousines and coaches we can arrange from vetted operators.
Muskoka Airport (YQA) and Pearson
Muskoka Airport is at Gravenhurst, 80 km from Barrie ($340–390, 50–60 minutes). Verify with the airport and your airline what services actually operate before you plan around it; see our Muskoka Airport page for the ground-transport side. Many Muskoka visitors still fly into Toronto Pearson ($380–440 from Barrie, about 97 km, 60–85 minutes), and a chauffeur from there to the lakes is a common booking. Flight tracking is included on airport pickups; we wait 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals, from actual landing. The reservation engine quotes Pearson to Muskoka addresses directly, since those fares are not on this page.
Coach, taxi, GO train or chauffeur?
| Option | What it does well | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| Chauffeur from BarrieLimo.net | Door to door, fixed fare, multiple stops, luggage and kids handled | Priced per vehicle, so best for two or more travellers or a day of stops |
| Driving yourself | Your own schedule | The Friday and Sunday queue, parking at each stop, no wine at lunch if you drive |
| Intercity coach | Lower fares for one traveller | Check Ontario Northland or other operators for routes and times; stops are fixed |
| Local taxi | Short local hops | Rural coverage is thin; arrange the return before you rely on it |
| GO train | Barrie to Toronto | No GO service reaches Muskoka; check GO Transit for any connection you plan |
Autumn colours, winter sports and the shoulder seasons
Muskoka is not only a July destination. September and October bring foliage drives that suit a chauffeur well, because everyone looks out of the window instead of at the road; our fall colours drive outlines one. Winter brings skating and skiing at provincial park trails and snowbelt weather, where a black SUV with winter tires and a patient chauffeur is the sensible way to travel. Many Muskoka attractions close or shorten hours in the shoulder seasons, so confirm before you plan. We will happily build a day around what is open. Because Muskoka and the ski hills are neighbours of a sort, readers also look at Horseshoe Resort and Blue Mountain Village when comparing winter days out of Barrie.

Families, pets, accessibility and child seats
Child seats (infant, child, toddler and booster) are available from $25 each; add them at booking. Pets need prior approval: request it at booking and wait for our written confirmation, and service animals are welcome. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter; we do not quote a ramp specification. On the Muskoka circuit these details matter, because main streets and wharves have steps and gradients that our drivers know. The hourly chauffeur service is also well suited to older travellers who want to see the lakes without tiring: the car is always at the kerb.
Groups, weddings and celebrations in Muskoka
An executive Sprinter carries up to 14, a luxury minivan six and an executive SUV six. Stretch limousines, party buses and coaches are partner vehicles from vetted operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, and we say so plainly. Multi-vehicle weddings and group days can be priced in writing by a coordinator. Alcohol is not allowed in any of our vehicles, including stretch limousines and party buses, so plan toasts for the venue. For celebrations, see our wedding limo page and for friends on a lake weekend the Sprinter group service.
How to book a Muskoka car, and cancellation terms
Enter your Barrie address and your first Muskoka stop in the reservation engine, choose a vehicle, pick one-way or hourly, and confirm. The fare is fixed and all-in before you pay; HST shows separately. More than 72 hours before pickup, cancellation is free; 72 hours or less is 10 %; 48 hours or less is 50 %; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100 %, measured from the scheduled pickup. Cruise tickets, park permits and resort bookings have their own terms, so book those first and the car second. For flights and hotels around the trip, ask the travel desk, and browse every Barrie attraction for neighbouring day trips.
