A ride to Georgian Mall or Park Place is a short Barrie trip: up to about 10 km and 5–20 minutes from downtown, with a business-sedan planning range of $110–125 one way, all-in plus HST. For a shopping day with both centres, lunch and parcels, book an hourly chauffeur in Barrie at $135–160 per hour (three-hour minimum) and the car waits at every door.
Georgian Mall and Park Place by chauffeur: the short version
Barrie has two shopping destinations that people mean when they say "the mall": Georgian Mall, the enclosed centre at 509 Bayfield Street in the north end of the city, and Park Place, the open-air power centre at the Highway 400 and Mapleview Drive interchange in the south end. They are about 10 km apart and they suit different days out. If you want one clear plan, book your Barrie chauffeur on the BarrieLimo.net reservation engine, enter the address of your first stop, add the second as a stop, and the engine shows a fixed all-in fare before you confirm. No app, no surge, no meter, and no aggregator in the middle. The rest of this page explains what each centre is, how the fares work, when hourly beats one-way, and the honest cases where a bus or a taxi is the better call.
Planning fares to Georgian Mall and Park Place
These are planning ranges for a business sedan, one way, all-in (chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls on the planned route, gratuity) with HST shown separately. The reservation engine quotes the exact address, date and vehicle before you commit.
| Trip | Planning fare (business sedan) | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Barrie to Georgian Mall or Park Place | $110–125 one way | up to about 10 km | 5–20 min |
| Georgian Mall to Park Place (or back) | quoted as a stop on one booking | about 10 km | 10–20 min |
| Springwater or Midhurst to downtown Barrie (a guide for either centre) | $130–150 one way | about 9 km | 10–15 min |
| Innisfil to downtown Barrie (a guide for either centre) | $150–170 one way | about 15 km | 15–25 min |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) to Barrie | $380–440 one way | about 97 km | 60–85 min |
| Hourly, business sedan | $135–160 per hour | 3 h minimum | car stays with you |
| Hourly, business SUV | $175–205 per hour | 3 h minimum | up to 5 guests and 5 bags |
| Hourly, executive SUV | $225–265 per hour | 3 h minimum | up to 6 guests |
Within Barrie, vehicles above the sedan have class minimums rather than multipliers: a business SUV is $180–205 for a short local trip, an executive SUV $260–300 and a first-class sedan $360–415. The Barrie limo price guide shows how the classes compare, and rates lists the full set.
Why two centres, and which one do you want?
Georgian Mall is the traditional indoor mall. Its own site describes the centre as owned and managed by RioCan and carries a store directory, a food-options list, a gift-card programme and an events calendar, and Tourism Barrie describes it as the largest shopping centre in the Barrie, Huronia and Muskoka area (Georgian Mall, Tourism Barrie). It is where you go for fashion, beauty, a food court and a rainy-day wander, and it keeps its doors heated in January.
Park Place is a different animal. Its owner and manager, NADG, describes it as the largest retail and mixed-use development in the city, sitting on a 135-acre site with 726,000 square feet of retail space beside the 400 (NADG: Park Place). That is big-box territory: sporting goods, electronics, home furnishings, off-price fashion, restaurants and entertainment spread across parking lots. You drive between stores, which is exactly where having a chauffeur parked at the kerb pays off.
Georgian Mall: what to know before you go
The mall's address is 509 Bayfield Street, Barrie. Bayfield Street is one of the five Highway 400 interchanges that serve the city, so the car approaches from the 400 or from downtown along Bayfield, and the chauffeur drops at whichever mall entrance is closest to your first store. Tell the dispatcher on the booking whether you are meeting someone at a particular entrance, a food court or a department store, and the chauffeur plans the approach before you leave the house.
Opening hours change through the year and are longer in the holiday season, so check the official site on the day. We deliberately print no hours here. Two practical points from the dispatcher's chair: the lots are busiest on Saturdays and in the weeks before Christmas, and the north-end approach from the 400 backs up when snow squalls hit. If you are catching a movie, a medical appointment or a connection afterwards, give the pickup an extra margin and let us choose the entrance with the quicker exit.
Park Place: the south-end power centre
Park Place sits where Highway 400 meets Mapleview Drive, which makes it the first big shopping stop for people driving into Barrie from the south and the last one on the way out. NADG lists major tenants that include Bass Pro-Cabela's, Best Buy, Sport Chek, The Rec Room, Winners, HomeSense, Michaels and Marshalls, plus restaurants and an LCBO. Because the retailers are spread across a large site, a one-stop drop at a single door rarely works for a serious shopping trip.
That is the practical argument for hourly. On a one-way booking you are dropped at the store you name, and 15 minutes of waiting is included before 15-minute blocks apply. On an hourly booking the chauffeur re-positions the car to your next store, loads the purchases, and waits. You do not carry a flat-screen box across a lot in February.
Hourly chauffeur for a shopping day
Our lead product is the hourly private chauffeur: one car and one professional chauffeur kept for as long as you need, with a three-hour minimum for sedans, SUVs and vans. A business sedan is $135–160 per hour all-in plus HST, a business SUV $175–205, an executive SUV $225–265. A four-hour sedan booking, which fits a morning at Georgian Mall, lunch and an afternoon at Park Place with time to spare, lands at about $540–640 all-in plus HST. Extra time is added in 30-minute blocks, so a long lunch is not a budget shock.
Read hourly versus point to point for the break-even, but the shortcut is this: one stop, one-way. Two or more stops, or any waiting, hourly. The hourly page, hourly chauffeur service, sets out how the minimum, the blocks and the waiting work.
Sample itinerary: Georgian Mall, lunch, Park Place
This is a four-hour sedan plan that fits inside the planning figure above.
- 10:00 am pickup at your home or hotel in Barrie; about 10–20 minutes to Georgian Mall.
- 10:20 am to 12:30 pm browse Georgian Mall; the car parks and waits, and you message the chauffeur when you are ready.
- 12:35 pm short run, about 10 km and 10–20 minutes, to Park Place at Mapleview Drive.
- 12:55 pm to 1:45 pm lunch at one of the Park Place restaurants.
- 1:45 pm to 3:00 pm the big-box stores; the chauffeur moves the car to each entrance and loads the boot.
- 3:00 pm home or hotel, parcels carried to the door.
Swap the order if you want to finish near the 400: Park Place first, then Georgian Mall, then home along Bayfield Street.
Shopping with a stroller, parcels or a lot of luggage
A business sedan takes three passengers and three bags. A business SUV takes five and five and has the headroom for a boxed lamp or a tent from the sporting-goods store. An executive SUV takes six passengers and six bags; a luxury minivan takes six with sliding doors that are easier with a stroller or an older passenger. Infant, child, toddler and booster seats are available on request from $25 each; add them at booking and the chauffeur fits them before pickup. If purchases will not fit, say so on the booking; a second vehicle can be added on the same file.

Taxi, Barrie Transit or private car to the shops?
Honest answer: for one person making one short trip with a light bag, a taxi, a ride-hail or Barrie's city bus will cost less than a premium black car, and we say so. The city publishes its transit information on the City of Barrie site; check routes and times there rather than relying on anything we could print. A private car earns its price when the day is more than one hop: two centres and lunch, a group of friends or three generations of one family, heavy or fragile parcels, mobility needs, an early departure, or a ride home you do not want to wait for in minus-twenty. The fare is fixed before you book and includes gratuity, so the number you see is the number you pay, plus HST.
Black Friday, December and Boxing Day timing
From the dispatcher's seat the heaviest shopping traffic of the year runs from the last weekend of November through the days after Christmas. Lots fill early, Mapleview Drive queues back toward the interchange, and the 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 is a snow-squall risk from November to March. Book early and give the pickup a margin: we plan a car to arrive five to ten minutes before you step out, and we would rather wait at the entrance than have you wait in the cold. Flexible, early-morning and late-evening times are the easiest to schedule; midday Saturdays book out first.
Arriving from Pearson straight to the shops
Visitors landing at Toronto Pearson sometimes want to go straight to a mall for something they could not pack. The airport run is about 97 km and 60–85 minutes, with a planning range of $380–440 for a business sedan, flight-tracked, with 30 minutes of included waiting after a Canadian domestic or US landing and 60 minutes after other international arrivals. The standard pickup is curbside at the terminal's commercial pickup area; meet and greet inside arrivals is an optional add-on chosen at booking. A shopping stop on the way is a waypoint on the same file. See Barrie to Pearson for the full route and Pearson airport transfers.
Older shoppers and wheelchair users
Malls are accessible, but the last 200 metres of a winter parking lot are not. Our chauffeurs help with seat belts, stow a folding walker or manual wheelchair, and drop at the entrance nearest the accessible route. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter; we do not quote a ramp specification here. If you rely on a mobility device, say which one when you book and we will tell you honestly what the vehicle can take.
Hotel guests and visitors without a car
Hotels near the Highway 400 interchanges put both centres within minutes. Concierges can book on a guest's behalf direct on BarrieLimo.net, and our Barrie hotel transfers page covers where cars stop. Tourism Barrie's visitor guide lists the city's attractions if the shopping day is part of a longer visit, and our first-time visitor's guide to Barrie pairs a mall day with the waterfront.
Combining the malls with outlets and Innisfil
Shopping fans often add a third stop. Tanger Outlets is about 20 km south on Highway 400 at Cookstown; read the Tanger Outlets Cookstown guide for fares and timing. Lunch and a lake walk at Friday Harbour pair nicely with a morning at Park Place. All of it can sit on one hourly booking, which is why a full retail day is almost always cheaper and calmer as hourly than as four separate rides.
Tipping, waiting and what the fare includes
The fixed fare includes the chauffeur, the vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, any airport fees, and gratuity, with HST shown separately. There is no alcohol on board in any of our vehicles, which matters for a shopping afternoon that includes a restaurant lunch: the chauffeur is for the driving. Pets travel by prior approval, requested at booking and confirmed in writing; service animals are welcome and should be mentioned at booking.
Cancellations and changes
Plans for a shopping day move with the weather. More than 72 hours before pickup there is no charge; at 72 hours or less the charge is 10 %; at 48 hours or less it is 50 %; at 24 hours or less, or a no-show, it is 100 %, measured from the scheduled pickup. Time changes on the day are easy when the booking is hourly because the car is yours until the end of the block.
Book your Georgian Mall or Park Place chauffeur
Enter your pickup, your first stop and any extra stops on the reservation engine, pick a vehicle, and check the fare. If you are planning a longer trip that includes flights or a hotel, the travel desk can sit alongside the booking, and the Barrie attractions hub lists the rest of the places we drive to. We are an independent chauffeur service: we are not affiliated with Georgian Mall, Park Place, RioCan or NADG, and we name them only because those are the places our customers ask to be taken.
