Sadlon Arena parking is not scarce: the City lists 1,670 spaces beside the arena at 555 Bayview Drive, and the Colts describe a general first-come lot plus pass-only lots. Driving yourself is the sensible default for most home games. A chauffeur helps on snowy nights, with groups, with older fans and when you want a drink at dinner: $110–125 one way within Barrie. See our Sadlon Arena limo page.
What is Sadlon Arena parking really like on a game night?
The City of Barrie's Sadlon Arena page gives the address as 555 Bayview Drive and says there are 1,670 parking spaces directly adjacent to the facility, with EV charging on site. It lists capacity as 4,200 seats for sporting events and 4,700 for concerts. Put those numbers together and the maths is generous: far more spaces than a typical crowd needs cars.
So the honest title of this page might be "you probably do not need us for parking". What you may need is a ride that ends the evening better than a crowded lot at 10 p.m. in January. The rest of this guide separates the games where you should simply drive from the ones where a chauffeur earns its fee. Our parent Sadlon Arena page covers the wider picture.
Which Colts lots are open to everyone, and which need passes?
The Colts' parking and game-day page describes a lot structure that matters if you do not hold a pass. The Far North Lot is general parking, first come, first served, with no pass required. The Near North Lot needs a Green or Pink pass; the East and West lots need an Orange or Red pass; the South Lot is reserved for suite pass holders.
That means a casual fan should aim for the Far North Lot and arrive early, and should not follow a friend into a pass-only lot. The page we read did not list prices or a drop-off zone, so check it for the current rules. We are not the Colts or the City, and our chauffeur cannot park in a pass lot without the pass.
How do you get there, and which entrance do you use?
The arena sits at the southeast corner of Bayview Drive and Mapleview Drive East. The Colts' directions for visitors from Toronto are simple: Highway 400 north, exit at Mapleview Drive East, continue to Bayview Drive. The page names the West Entrance as the main entry.
For a chauffeur drop-off, the practical advice is to ask for a stop as close to the West Entrance as traffic and signage allow, then agree a pickup spot by text. Do not rely on a specific kerbside spot: the chauffeur chooses a safe, legal point on the night. Tell dispatch if anyone in your group needs the shortest possible walk.
When do the doors open, and how early should you arrive?
The Colts say doors open 60 minutes before puck drop, and that the Horsepower Sports Bar opens at 5 p.m. on game nights. Bags are permitted but searched, and outside food and beverages are not allowed inside the arena. For a 7:30 p.m. puck drop, the first home game of the 2026-27 season (Saturday, September 19, against the Sudbury Wolves) being an example, doors open at 6:30.
Plan to arrive 30 to 45 minutes before puck drop if you want a relaxed walk to your seat, pre-game food and the warm-up. A chauffeur can build that in: pick-up time, 20 minutes in the car, a drop at the West Entrance and a margin for the line.
When are the home games, and how does winter change them?
The Colts' 2026-27 schedule lists a 68-game regular season through March 21, 2027, with home games spread across Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays rather than one fixed night. That means a game can land on a snowy weeknight as easily as on a clear Saturday.
Lake-effect squalls can close or slow Highway 400 with little warning from November to March, and the arena is close to the Highway 400 interchange at Mapleview Drive. Dispatch checks Ontario 511 and may suggest an earlier pickup. See our Highway 400 winter travel guide and the Colts season page.
Is driving yourself the right call?
For many fans, yes. If you live in Barrie, you are two adults and a kid, the weather is clear and the driver is not drinking, parking is simple. Take the Far North Lot, walk in and leave when you like. Be honest with yourself about the exit, though: a lot full of cars all leaving at once after the final buzzer can be slower than the drive.
We would rather you drive than book a car you do not need. A chauffeur is a luxury on a clear Tuesday and a necessity on a snowy night with a sleepy child, a grandparent or a pint at dinner. The next section lists when it changes from one to the other.
When does a chauffeur make sense for a Colts game?
Six situations: snow or freezing rain; a group of six or more splitting a vehicle; older fans or anyone with limited mobility; a pre-game dinner with drinks; hockey families carrying equipment; and clients or guests you want to look after. In each case the chauffeur does the same thing: the driving, the dropping and the waiting.
The shared advantage is the end of the night. With a pre-booked car, you leave when you choose, text the chauffeur and walk to a spot agreed in advance. There is no alcohol on board our vehicles, so a drink at dinner or in the arena's bar is enjoyable, and the car handles the ride home. The hourly chauffeur service explains the other option.
How much is a game-day ride?
These are planning figures for a business sedan, one way, to or from downtown Barrie, per vehicle, all-in plus HST with tolls included. The arena is within Barrie, so most local rides fall in the first row. The reservation engine quotes your exact address, date and vehicle before you confirm.
| From | Distance to downtown Barrie | Drive time | Sedan one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anywhere within Barrie | up to 10 km | 5–20 min | $110–125 |
| Springwater / Midhurst | 9 km | 10–15 min | $130–150 |
| Innisfil | 15 km | 15–25 min | $150–170 |
| Angus / CFB Borden | 20 km | 20–30 min | $165–190 |
| Orillia | 38 km | 30–35 min | $215–245 |
| Wasaga Beach | 40 km | 35–45 min | $225–260 |
| Collingwood | 57 km | 50–60 min | $275–315 |
Within Barrie a business SUV has a local minimum of $180–205, an executive SUV $260–300 and a Sprinter $480–550. For a whole evening, a business sedan is $135–160 per hour with a three-hour minimum. See rates.

What about a hockey family with equipment?
Youth players, hockey bags and a sibling with a snack is a loaded vehicle. A business SUV carries five passengers and five bags and a Sprinter takes bigger loads for team travel. Tell dispatch what you carry so the car has the room, and keep sticks and sharp items secured.
Child seats (infant or child, toddler, booster) are available on request from $25 each; add them at booking. Hockey nights run late for children, so a car at the door, a warm cabin and an early bed beat a long walk back to a distant lot. For a team, book an hourly Sprinter; for a single family, a business SUV is usually right.
What suits older fans and guests with mobility needs?
Older fans often love the Colts and dislike the winter drive home. A chauffeur, a warm car and a drop-off near the West Entrance is a gentler evening. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter; we do not quote a model or ramp specification, and the dispatcher confirms what is assigned for your date.
Ask the City or the Colts about accessible seating and parking, since arrangements inside belong to the venue. Service animals are welcome; mention them at booking. Pets need prior approval with written confirmation.
How do you look after clients on a game night?
A game is a good client evening: relaxed, social and memorable. A first-class sedan or executive SUV collects the guests, drops them at the entrance and waits. The Colts page says the South Lot is reserved for suite pass holders, so a suite host who has a pass can park and a chauffeur can still handle the guests' return.
Companies can ask our corporate accounts desk for one invoice. If guests are flying in, Pearson to Barrie is $380–440 in a business sedan (about 97 km, 60–85 minutes) and the same driver can take them back; flights and hotels can be arranged through our travel desk.
What about a group of ten to fourteen?
A birthday group, a staff night or a hockey team wants one vehicle. The executive Sprinter seats up to 14 at $475–550 per hour with a three-hour minimum, all-in plus HST, or has a local minimum of $480–550 within Barrie. Larger groups can use a partner minicoach or party bus priced in writing by a coordinator.
Alcohol is not allowed on board, including partner party buses, so the group's pre-game drinks happen at a restaurant, not in the vehicle. For ideas on dinner first, see our restaurant nights out article.
What happens after the final buzzer?
Everyone leaves at once. With your own car, you wait in a lot; with a chauffeur, you walk to a meeting point agreed by text. The simplest habit is to message the chauffeur when the third period starts, so the car is on its way as the buzzer sounds.
On a snowy night add a margin, and consider leaving a few minutes early if the game is decided. A one-way pickup includes 15 minutes of waiting from the scheduled time and then 15-minute blocks; an hourly booking keeps the car with you throughout. Our Casino Rama night out guide shows the same technique for a show.
What about concerts and other events at the arena?
The City lists the arena at 4,700 seats for concerts, and Colts tickets and entertainment shows are sold through the Colts' site and Ticketpro, according to the City page. Concerts add a different crowd and a different exit, and the parking lots can be fuller. Check the event listing for lot and door information.
The same advice applies: drive if you are sober and the weather is good, book a car for everything else. Our concert and game-day limo page covers other venues, including Toronto arenas, where parking is a genuine problem.
How do you book your game-day ride direct?
Book on our reservation engine: choose the vehicle, enter your pickup address, and pick a one-way trip or the number of hours. The fixed all-in fare appears before you confirm, with HST shown separately. There is no app, no aggregator commission and one dispatch desk.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10 per cent at 72 hours or less; 50 per cent at 48 hours or less; 100 per cent at 24 hours or less or a no-show. Book as soon as you have tickets, since Friday and Saturday nights are the busiest.
