Casino Rama shows are staged in the resort's Entertainment Centre, 47 km and 35–45 minutes from downtown Barrie. Driving yourself is cheapest when someone stays sober and the roads are clear. A private car wins for couples, groups and winter nights: a business sedan is $230–265 one way, or a chauffeur by the hour from $135–160 waits through the show. See our Casino Rama limo from Barrie.
What are the Casino Rama shows, and where do you find the current list?
The resort's Entertainment Centre hosts touring concerts, comedy and special events, and the resort describes it as a large theatre of around 5,000 seats. The official Casino Rama entertainment page is the only list worth trusting for dates, because acts are added and moved all season. When we looked on 2 October 2026 it showed, among others, Terry Fator on January 15, 2027, Trooper with The Northern Pikes on January 16, Russell Peters on February 19 and 20, Air Supply on March 5 and Theory Of A Deadman on March 12.
Notice what those dates have in common: they sit in the deepest part of the snowbelt winter. That shapes everything below. We are a ground-transport company driving guests to the resort's door; we are not affiliated with it and we do not sell tickets.
Who is the designated driver on a show night?
The honest answer in most groups is nobody wants the job. A show night is a long evening: dinner, two hours in a seat, a slow trickle out to the car and then 47 km home on a dark highway.
A private chauffeur removes the question. Everybody can have a drink at dinner or at the venue, nobody needs to hand over the keys, and the car is simply there at the end. If you are two friends who rarely go out, that peace of mind is the whole product. Our Casino Rama limo page covers the service in general; this guide is only about show nights.
What does the drive look like for an evening show?
The route is the same all year: Highway 400 north from Barrie, Highway 11 through Orillia, then Rama Road to the resort. The planning figure is 47 km and 35–45 minutes in normal conditions, and the chauffeur chooses the departure from there.
Take a hypothetical ticket for a show at 8 p.m. A sensible plan is pickup in Barrie at 6:00, arrival around 6:45, a relaxed hour for dinner or the gaming floor and a walk to your seat before the lights drop. Your ticket and the resort's website decide the real times, so treat these as a template. On the way home, a show that finishes around 10:30 puts you back in Barrie before midnight. Add a margin for an encore, a queue at the coat check or a stop for the washroom.
How much is a ride to a Casino Rama show?
These are one-way planning figures from downtown Barrie, per vehicle, all-in plus HST with 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route included. The reservation engine quotes your exact address, date and vehicle before you confirm.
| Vehicle | Seats | One way to Casino Rama (47 km, 35–45 min) | By the hour (minimum) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | 3 | $230–265 | $135–160 per hour (3 h) |
| Business SUV | 5 | $300–345 | $175–205 per hour (3 h) |
| Executive SUV | 6 | $360–415 | $225–265 per hour (3 h) |
| Luxury minivan | 6 | quoted by the engine | quoted by the engine |
| First-class sedan | 3 | $620–715 | $350–410 per hour (3 h) |
| Executive Sprinter | up to 14 | $920–1,060 | $475–550 per hour (3 h) |
| Stretch sedan (partner vehicle) | 8 | $680–780 | $400–470 per hour (4 h) |
| Party bus (partner vehicle) | 14–36 | $1,120–1,290 | $550–650 per hour (4–5 h) |
Fares are per vehicle, not per seat, so the maths improves with every friend you add. The full list of classes is on the rates page.
Should you book one way each direction or by the hour for a show?
A show has an advantage over a casino night: it ends at a predictable time. That makes two one-way trips the sensible default for many parties. You pay for the drive out, a scheduled pickup for the drive home and nothing for the hours in between. Ask the dispatcher to set the return for the time the show ends plus a buffer, then text when the lights come up.
Hourly makes sense when the evening is not just the show. If you want dinner in Barrie first, a stop for a nightcap at a hotel after, or you simply refuse to watch the clock, the hourly chauffeur keeps one car with you from door to door, at $135–160 an hour for a sedan with a three-hour minimum. For scale, a four-hour sedan booking is about $540–640 all-in plus HST; a show night that includes the drive each way usually runs longer than that, so ask the engine to price both. The hourly versus point-to-point guide shows how to compare.
What if the show runs late and the car is not at the door?
On a one-way pickup, 15 minutes of waiting is included from the scheduled time and extra waiting runs in 15-minute blocks. Tell dispatch the show's published end time when you book and the chauffeur positions accordingly, but nobody can predict an encore, a second encore or a three-hour comedy set. If you are late, message dispatch: the desk is staffed around the clock and the chauffeur can usually hold nearby.
Where lateness is likely, such as a headline act with a reputation for running long, an hourly booking is the cleaner choice because extra time simply runs in 30-minute blocks at the same rate. Our cancellation terms are the same for every booking: free more than 72 hours before pickup, then 10 per cent at 72 hours or less, 50 per cent at 48 hours or less and 100 per cent at 24 hours or less or a no-show.
Where does the car pick you up at the resort?
We will not guess at a drop-off point the resort has not published. The Entertainment Centre page we checked does not describe pickup arrangements, so the practical answer is this: the chauffeur confirms the exact point with you by text on the night, picks a spot that is safe, legal and easy to describe, and you screenshot it before you go in. Note a landmark such as a door name or an entrance sign.
Is this the night for the resort coach, or for driving yourself?
Both are reasonable. The resort runs its own VIP Coach service; its VIP Coach page describes pickups in the Greater Toronto Area, membership of its rewards programme and a minimum stay to qualify for offers, and it does not mention a Barrie stop. If you live in Barrie, a coach is not the obvious answer, so check the resort for current routes before you count on one.
Driving yourself is simple and cheap on a clear night with a sober driver. It stops being simple when it is snowing, when the driver wants a glass of wine with dinner or when the party is bigger than one car. A private chauffeur is for those nights. If you are weighing a shared seat against a private car, our Casino Rama concerts guide covers the concert side in more detail.
What do the age and ID rules mean for a Casino Rama show?
The resort's own entertainment page says that, from January 2026, all Casino Rama Resort shows are 19+ unless otherwise indicated, and that guests need valid government-issued photo identification. Its box office is open on show days from noon until showtime. Our chauffeurs cannot vouch for anyone at the door, so check that every member of your party has the right ID before you leave.
That also settles who comes along: if your group includes a teenager who wants to ride with you for the evening, the show is not the place unless the listing says all ages. For family evenings in Barrie, our Sadlon Arena guide covers a venue where children are welcome.
What is a Casino Rama show like in January and February?
Plan for winter. Lake-effect squalls off Georgian Bay can close or slow Highway 400 with little warning from November to March, and Highway 11 into Orillia is no different. The shows listed in the new year all fall into that window, and the drive home after 10 p.m. is when visibility is worst.
Dispatch watches Ontario 511 before every trip and may move your pickup earlier, or suggest leaving before the encore, on a stormy night. The cars carry winter tyres from November to April. Read our Highway 400 winter travel guide for how we plan, and book early for a winter weekend: a Friday or Saturday show is the most requested slot.

How should a couple plan the evening?
Two people are the most common show-night booking and the simplest. A business sedan seats three and carries three bags, which is plenty. Pick up at six, dinner at the resort, the show, and a scheduled return at the published end time plus a margin. If you want dinner in Barrie instead, switch to hourly and the chauffeur takes you from your door to your table to the resort and home again.
For an anniversary or a surprise, tell dispatch at booking and the chauffeur keeps the arrival low-key. Our date nights and proposals page covers longer evenings. Remember there is no alcohol on board: have the glass of wine at the venue, then ride home.
How should a group of six to fourteen go to a show?
For up to six, an executive SUV or luxury minivan keeps everyone in one vehicle and one booking. For seven to fourteen, the executive Sprinter is $920–1,060 one way or $475–550 per hour with a three-hour minimum; divide that by the number of friends and the cost per person is often close to a taxi each way, without the wait. Larger parties can use a partner stretch limousine or party bus, priced in writing by a coordinator.
What about seniors and guests with mobility needs?
A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter; we do not quote a model or ramp specification, and the dispatcher confirms what is assigned for your date. The resort's own venue page says the Entertainment Centre is wheelchair accessible, but arrangements inside are the resort's to describe, so ask them about seating before you buy.
For older guests who no longer like night driving, a show is a good use of an hourly chauffeur: the same car, the same person, a door-to-door ride and no parking. Service animals are welcome; mention them at booking. Pets need prior approval, with written confirmation.
Should you stay overnight at Rama or in Orillia?
If the show is on a Saturday and the forecast is poor, staying is a perfectly sensible plan. Our Orillia and Casino Rama hotels page describes how a car works around the resort and the town, and a one-way ride in with a ride out the next morning is the lowest-cost structure. We drive to hotels; we are not affiliated with any.
For flights, rooms and a show weekend arranged on one file, ask the travel desk, which works with BookingWorldwide.net. If you are bringing a visiting friend in from Toronto, the Barrie to Pearson run is $380–440 in a business sedan (about 97 km, 60–85 minutes) and can ride on the same booking.
A word on gambling and the rest of the night
A show is entertainment, and many guests never touch the gaming floor. If you do, set a limit before you leave home and agree a time to meet at the car. An hourly chauffeur gives you a visible clock, which helps. Information and tools are available from PlaySmart, and the resort publishes its own guidance on its website.
How do you book a Casino Rama show ride direct?
Book on our own reservation engine: choose the vehicle, enter your Barrie pickup address, and add either two one-way trips or the number of hours. The fixed all-in fare appears before you confirm, with HST shown separately. Add child seats from $25 each if anyone in your party needs one, though the shows themselves are for guests 19 and over. There is no app and no aggregator commission, and one dispatch desk answers for the whole trip.
For a Friday or Saturday show, book as soon as you have your tickets. You can also pair the evening with a spa day or a brewery afternoon earlier in the week; our brewery tour guide shows how an hourly chauffeur works for that.
