Long distance car service from BarrieLimo.net is a private chauffeur and a fixed all-in fare between Barrie and other cities: planning ranges for a business sedan run from $225–260 to Bradford and $380–440 to Toronto Pearson (97 km, 60–85 minutes) up to $1,315–1,510 to Ottawa (410 km, 4.25–5 hours), plus HST. Book direct on the booking page and see your exact fare first.
Long distance and city to city car service from Barrie: what you are booking
A long distance car service from Barrie is the simplest way to travel between cities in Ontario when a train does not go where you are going and a rental car means two drivers or a day behind the wheel. You give the reservation engine two addresses, choose a vehicle and see one fixed fare: it covers the chauffeur, the vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, any airport fees and gratuity, with HST shown separately. The chauffeur meets you at your door, carries the bags and drives until you arrive. There is no meter, no surge and no change of vehicle halfway.
BarrieLimo.net is based in Barrie and runs its own dispatch and chauffeurs. We use the same fixed-fare engine for a 10 km trip across town and a 410 km day to Ottawa. Book direct here and the whole trip stays on one file with one dispatch desk.
Planning fares from Barrie to other cities
One way from downtown Barrie, business sedan, all-in plus HST. Distance and drive time are for planning; the reservation engine quotes the exact address, date and vehicle.
| Destination | Distance | Drive time | Business sedan, one way |
|---|---|---|---|
| Orillia | 38 km | 30–35 min | $215–245 |
| Bradford | 40 km | 30–40 min | $225–260 |
| Collingwood | 57 km | 50–60 min | $275–315 |
| Newmarket and Aurora | 60 km | 40–55 min | $280–320 |
| Toronto Pearson (YYZ) | about 97 km | 60–85 min | $380–440 |
| Union Station and downtown Toronto | 114 km | 75–105 min | $420–485 |
| Billy Bishop (YTZ) | 115 km | 80–110 min | $445–510 |
| Owen Sound | 125 km | 100–115 min | $475–545 |
| Parry Sound | 150 km | 95–110 min | $550–630 |
| Hamilton airport (YHM) | 175 km | 110–140 min | $620–715 |
| Niagara Falls, Ontario | 230 km | 2.5–3.25 h | $785–905 |
| Ottawa | 410 km | 4.25–5 h | $1,315–1,510 |
Larger vehicles are the sedan range multiplied by the class factor for trips of 40 km or more: business SUV times 1.3, luxury minivan 1.5, executive SUV 1.6, first-class sedan 2.6, Sprinter 4.0. For example, Barrie to Pearson, where the range starts at the reservation engine's quoted figure, is $490–565 in a business SUV and $580–665 in an executive SUV.
How the long-distance fare is built
The fare is built on distance and drive time, not on a meter. That matters on a long run: if Highway 400 is slow, you do not pay for the delay. The fixed all-in figure includes 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, so there are no tolls to settle at the end. Waiting is 15 minutes on non-airport pickups, then 15-minute blocks; airport rules are on the airport pages.
Barrie to Toronto, Union Station and the airports
The most-booked long run is south: Pearson, Billy Bishop and Union Station. Pearson is about 97 km and 60–85 minutes by the 400, the 401 west and the 427, or by the tolled 407 ETR. Union Station is 114 km and 75–105 minutes, and Billy Bishop is 115 km and 80–110 minutes, with cars stopping on the mainland at Eireann Quay. See Barrie to Pearson, Barrie to Billy Bishop, Barrie to Union Station and Barrie to downtown Toronto. Morning rush into the city and the evening run out are the slow windows, so allow the top of the range at those times.

Barrie to Hamilton and Niagara
Hamilton airport (YHM) is 175 km and 110–140 minutes away, $620–715 for a sedan. Some travellers fly from there when the fares suit, and our blog on Barrie to Hamilton airport walks through the route and timing. Niagara Falls is 230 km and 2.5 to 3.25 hours at $785–905; see Barrie to Niagara Falls and the Niagara day trip guide. A day trip is cheaper and easier by the hour than as two one-way fares, because the chauffeur waits.
Owen Sound, Collingwood and Parry Sound
Owen Sound is 125 km and 100–115 minutes at $475–545, a run people book for airport connections, appointments and visits. Collingwood is 57 km and 50–60 minutes at $275–315. Parry Sound is 150 km and 95–110 minutes at $550–630, reached on Highway 400 itself. Locals still ask for a taxi in these towns; a taxi is a sensible way to get across the town you live in, and our section on the city pages explains how a pre-booked private car compares for the airport run.
Ottawa: a full day for the chauffeur
Ottawa is 410 km and 4.25 to 5 hours, $1,315–1,510 for a business sedan one way. It is a full day for the chauffeur. It suits groups sharing a vehicle, passengers with heavy luggage and executives who want to work on the road. On very long days a second chauffeur can be added, and overnight trips with the chauffeur staying over are arranged at booking. See Barrie to Ottawa and our blog on intercity black car service to Ottawa and Montreal.
Barrie to Kingston, London Ontario, Kitchener, Peterborough, North Bay, Sudbury and Montreal
People search for Barrie to Kingston, London, Kitchener, Peterborough, North Bay, Sudbury and Montreal, and we drive all of them. We do not print a fixed band for these because the distance depends on your exact pickup and drop-off: enter both addresses on the booking page and the engine shows the fixed all-in fare before you confirm. Longer days can carry a second chauffeur, and overnight trips are arranged at booking.
One way, return, or hourly with the car waiting?
- One way: the simplest booking; one fixed fare and the chauffeur leaves after drop-off.
- Return on another day: two one-way fares, each fixed at booking, common for university terms and long weekends.
- Same-day return with waiting: book by the hour. A 4-hour sedan booking is $540–640 all-in plus HST, and a day in Toronto with meetings and errands is nearly always cheaper hourly than as two long one-way fares. Our guide to hourly versus point to point compares the cases.
Hourly rates are $135–160 for a business sedan with a 3-hour minimum, $175–205 for a business SUV and $225–265 for an executive SUV, plus HST; see the hourly chauffeur page.
Long distance taxi or a fixed-fare private car?
Searches for a long distance taxi are common. A metered taxi can be right when you are crossing your own town. On a run of 100 km or more, the difference is that a meter keeps running when traffic does; a fixed fare does not, and you see the number before you travel. It is not a cheap alternative, and we say so: fixed fares are premium-priced, and what they buy is a late-model black car, a professional chauffeur, tolls included and a vehicle sized to your group. If price is your main concern, the train and coach options below are the honest alternatives.
Train, coach or private car?
GO Transit runs trains on the Barrie line between Allandale Waterfront and Barrie South GO stations and Union Station; check the site for current times and fares. VIA Rail serves long-distance routes from Union, and Ontario Northland runs intercity coaches. For one traveller going station to station, a train or coach is usually cheaper. A car wins for groups of three or more, heavy luggage, late departures and early starts, children, pets and destinations away from stations such as cottages, hospitals and campuses. Many clients combine the two: a car to Union Station for the train, and a car home. See our GO train versus limo guide.
Work, sleep or watch the scenery
A long run is a block of time. A first-class sedan gives rear-seat room and a quiet ride. The Jet Sprinter is a VIP lounge conversion for up to seven, with captain's chairs and work tables, $650–750 an hour, making a long trip a rolling meeting room. See our blog on the Sprinter as a mobile boardroom.
Rest stops and comfort
On any trip over about two hours the chauffeur offers a stop roughly every two hours, or whenever you ask. Ontario's ONroute service centres on the 401 and other 400-series highways have washrooms, coffee and food. Tell us at booking if you want a longer lunch stop so it is built into the plan. Child seats are available from $25 each, added at booking; pets need prior approval, requested at booking and confirmed in writing.
Choosing a vehicle for a long trip
- Business sedan: up to three passengers and three bags; the default.
- First-class sedan: S-Class or 7 Series class; the choice for executives who plan to work.
- Executive SUV or luxury minivan: six passengers and six bags; families, golf clubs and ski gear.
- Sprinter: up to 14 passengers; teams and wedding guests.
- Coach: a partner vehicle, priced in writing by a coordinator.
See the fleet page for photos and luggage details.

Winter and the 400 corridor
Barrie sits in Ontario's snowbelt. Lake-effect squalls off Georgian Bay can close or slow Highway 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 with little warning from November to March. Every vehicle runs winter tires from November to April, chauffeurs check Ontario 511 before leaving, and dispatch will suggest a different departure when a warning is in effect. Safety wins over the schedule. See Highway 400 winter travel.
Students, families, appointments and business
University and college move days are big long-distance dates, and an SUV or van carries a term's worth of boxes. Specialist appointments in Toronto or farther are a common reason for a long ride; see medical appointments. A chauffeur drops at the entrance and, on hourly bookings, waits through the appointment. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter. For business accounts, see corporate car service.
Crossing the border
Cross-border runs to Buffalo, Niagara Falls NY and Detroit are on our cross-border limo page. Chauffeurs holding NEXUS are available on request, and bridge tolls on the planned route are included.
Booking your long-distance car direct
Book on the booking page with both addresses. Choose one way, return or hourly, pick the vehicle and see the fixed all-in fare before you confirm. No app, no marketplace commission and one dispatch desk. Cancellation is measured from scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent.
