A Barrie to Buffalo airport limo from BarrieLimo.net is a fixed all-in fare of $885–1,020 for a business sedan, plus HST, about 265 km and 2.75–3.5 hours plus time at the border. Niagara Falls, New York is $815–935 (240 km) and Detroit $1,490–1,715 (470 km). Bridge tolls on the planned route are included. See your exact fare and book direct.
Barrie to Buffalo airport limo: how the fare works
A Barrie to Buffalo airport limo is a private run of about 265 km: one chauffeur, one car, door to terminal. The reservation engine on the booking page shows one fixed fare before you confirm. It covers the chauffeur, the vehicle, fuel, 407 ETR and bridge tolls on the planned route, gratuity and any airport fee, with HST shown separately. There is no meter and no surge, so a slow border does not change the number. Waiting time at the airport follows the same rule as any other pickup, and flights are tracked on every airport run.
This page covers the cross-border service as a whole: Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Detroit, in both directions. If you are arriving from the USA, our pages for Buffalo to Barrie, Niagara Falls NY to Barrie and Detroit to Barrie cover that direction in more detail.
Planning fares: Barrie to Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Detroit
One way from downtown Barrie, business sedan, all-in plus HST. Larger vehicles are the sedan range multiplied by the class factor. The engine fixes the exact fare for your addresses.
| Destination | Distance | Drive time | Business sedan | Business SUV | Executive SUV | Sprinter |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Niagara Falls, Ontario | 230 km | 2.5–3.25 h | $785–905 | $1,020–1,175 | $1,255–1,450 | $3,140–3,620 |
| Niagara Falls, New York | 240 km | 2.5–3.25 h plus border | $815–935 | $1,060–1,215 | $1,305–1,495 | $3,260–3,740 |
| Buffalo airport (BUF) | 265 km | 2.75–3.5 h plus border | $885–1,020 | $1,150–1,325 | $1,415–1,630 | $3,540–4,080 |
| Detroit | 470 km | 4.75–5.75 h plus border | $1,490–1,715 | $1,935–2,230 | $2,385–2,745 | $5,960–6,860 |
All figures are planning ranges. A first-class sedan is the sedan range times 2.6 if you want the quietest ride; a luxury minivan is times 1.5.
Which border crossing will the chauffeur use?
The route follows the planned address. For Buffalo airport the usual crossing is the Peace Bridge between Fort Erie and Buffalo; see the Peace Bridge site. For Niagara Falls, New York, the Rainbow Bridge connects the two Niagara Falls cities, and the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge is the other Niagara option; the Niagara bridges site covers them. For Detroit the crossings are the Ambassador Bridge, the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel and the Gordie Howe International Bridge, which opened to traffic on July 27, 2026; see its official site. The chauffeur picks the crossing on the day based on conditions, and the tolls are included in your fixed fare when they are on the planned route.
Documents: what every passenger needs
Everybody in the car needs valid travel documents, and the chauffeur cannot cross for you. For entering the United States by land, US Customs and Border Protection lists accepted documents on its land border page: US citizens can present a passport, passport card, enhanced driver's licence or a Trusted Traveler card such as NEXUS; Canadian citizens can show a valid passport, enhanced driver's licence or a Trusted Traveler card. Visitors who are neither US nor Canadian citizens should check US Customs and Border Protection for visa and I-94 requirements before they travel. Children have separate rules, and the CBP page spells them out.
Coming back into Canada, Canada Border Services Agency is the authority. Visitors to Canada who are flying in may need an eTA; that requirement applies to air arrivals, not to people crossing by land, but check the wording for your own nationality and situation.
NEXUS: chauffeurs and passengers
We can assign a chauffeur who holds NEXUS on request, so ask at booking. Your own NEXUS cards matter too: the dedicated lane normally requires everyone in the vehicle to be a member, so if only some passengers hold cards the car will use the regular lanes. See the NEXUS page and the Trusted Traveler Programs overview.
Border waits: when to cross
Waits vary by day, hour and season, and we do not promise a crossing time. The most useful habit is to check the current wait before you leave. The CBSA border wait times page covers Canada-bound traffic, and the bridge operators publish their own information. Holiday weekends, long weekends and Friday evenings tend to be busier than a Tuesday morning, so build slack into a flight connection. The drive times in our table show road time only, plus the border.
Is flying out of Buffalo worth it from Barrie?
"Flying out of Buffalo" is a search many Ontario travellers make, and the honest answer is that it depends on the fare. Buffalo Niagara International Airport (BUF) can have different airlines and fares from Pearson, and the BUF site shows what flies where. Against that: the drive is 265 km and 2.75–3.5 hours plus the border, compared with about 97 km and 60–85 minutes to Pearson, and you will clear US customs and then Canadian customs on the way home. A private car costs $885–1,020 each way for a sedan against $380–440 to Pearson, so the saving in the ticket needs to be real. For a family of four or five sharing a vehicle, a business SUV or executive SUV changes the per-person arithmetic; check the totals before booking.

Barrie to Niagara Falls, New York
Niagara Falls, New York is 240 km and 2.5–3.25 hours plus the border, $815–935 for a sedan. The Niagara region is the most common leisure destination on this page: the American side's state park, hotels and restaurants and the Rainbow Bridge walk between the two cities. On a day trip an hourly chauffeur can wait while you cross on foot; confirm the arrangements with dispatch at booking. See our Barrie to Niagara Falls route.
Barrie to Detroit
Detroit is 470 km and 4.75–5.75 hours plus the border, $1,490–1,715 for a sedan. It is a long day for a chauffeur: a second chauffeur can be added on very long days, and overnight trips with the chauffeur staying over are arranged at booking. Highway 401 runs west toward Windsor and the crossings. See the Detroit to Barrie page and our guide to crossing the border by limo.
Buffalo game days and events
People ask about Bills games from Barrie. We drive to events as a ride only; we have no affiliation with the teams or the venues, and we do not state dates here. Check the official team and stadium sites for schedules, then see our blog on Buffalo Bills games from Barrie by limo for timing and the border. A Sprinter seats up to 14 and is the usual choice for a group.
What to declare and what to carry
You are responsible for your own declarations. The CBSA declaration page explains what to declare on return, including purchases. Keep passports and documents in your hand luggage, not in the trunk. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles at any time, including on the way home from a shopping trip. Pets crossing the border have their own paperwork; confirm the requirements with CBSA and CBP, and ask for prior approval at booking.
Choosing a vehicle for the border
- Business sedan: up to three passengers and three bags.
- Business SUV: five passengers, five bags.
- Executive SUV: six passengers, six bags.
- Luxury minivan: six passengers, six bags, with sliding doors for families.
- Sprinter: up to 14 passengers, for teams and groups.
Child seats are available from $25 each, added at booking; see the fleet for details.
The route: Highway 400, the 407 and the QEW
South from Barrie, the chauffeur takes the 400 and then crosses the Greater Toronto Area on the tolled 407 ETR or the 401, before joining the QEW toward Niagara and Buffalo. Tolls on the planned route are in the fixed fare. See 407 ETR for how the road works, and our blog on whether the 407 ETR is worth it. Barrie sits in Ontario's snowbelt, so squalls can slow the 400 from November to March; the chauffeur checks Ontario 511 before leaving.
Hourly, return and overnight options
One-way fares suit airports. For a day trip to Niagara Falls, New York or a shopping day, hourly bookings are often the better fit, with 3-hour minimum for a sedan at $135–160 an hour; dispatch will explain how border time is handled before you confirm. Our hourly chauffeur page explains the clock. Overnight trips are arranged at booking, with the chauffeur staying over.
Travel desk: flights and hotels
If your trip starts with a flight, our travel desk, with BookingWorldwide.net, searches flights, hotels and packages, and you can add the car on the same file. Pearson remains the closest major airport, and our Pearson airport transfers page has the figures.
Timing a flight from Buffalo: working backwards
If you are driving to BUF for a flight, plan backwards. Start with the time the airline recommends you arrive at the airport for an international flight, which you can find on the airline's own site. Subtract the road time in our table, 2.75–3.5 hours from downtown Barrie. Then subtract a generous border allowance, because a quiet crossing and a busy one can be very different. A flight at 6 a.m. therefore means a departure in the middle of the night, and a late-afternoon flight is far more comfortable. Dispatch will suggest a departure time when you book, and the chauffeur tracks traffic on the day. Nothing here replaces the airline's own guidance.
The return leg and arriving from the USA
Many travellers book both directions. A fixed one-way fare back from the airport is shown at booking, and the chauffeur tracks the flight so a delay does not leave you waiting. Included waiting is 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights, counted from actual landing, then 15-minute blocks; it is 60 minutes on other international arrivals. Curbside pickup at the commercial pickup area is what the fare includes. Meet and greet inside arrivals with a name board is an optional add-on chosen on the booking form. Visitors arriving from Buffalo, Niagara Falls or Detroit on their own schedule should look at the three pages in our USA section.
Day trips, shopping and group outings
Not every cross-border run is an airport run. People book a car for a day at the Falls, a shopping trip or an event on the other side, and groups of up to 14 share a Sprinter. The most common mistake is underestimating the border on the way home, so leave earlier than you think you need to. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, and goods bought abroad are subject to the declaration rules on the CBSA page above. For a day out in Ontario's Niagara region without crossing, see our Barrie to Niagara Falls route.
