A funeral limo in Barrie from BarrieLimo.net is a dignified black car or SUV with a professional chauffeur for the family, usually booked by the hour so the vehicle waits through the service: planning rates are $135–160 an hour for a business sedan, with a 3-hour minimum, plus HST. Hearses come from the funeral home. Book direct with the times your funeral director gives you.
Funeral limo in Barrie: what we do and what we do not
When someone dies, the family has to arrange a dozen things in a few days, and the cars should be the easiest of them. A funeral limo service from BarrieLimo.net provides the vehicles that carry the family: a black sedan, SUV, minivan or Sprinter, with a professional chauffeur who is quiet, punctual and unhurried. We drive the family from home to the funeral home or place of worship, on to the cemetery and then to the gathering afterwards.
We are not a funeral home. The hearse is supplied by the funeral home, and we do not handle remains or provide funeral director services. Many funeral homes arrange family cars themselves as part of their service, so ask your funeral director first. If you want a vehicle that is not on their list, or relatives are arriving from out of town, book direct here.

Why most funeral days are booked by the hour
A funeral has a plan but not an exact clock: the service runs long, the family stays to greet people, the procession waits for the last car. With an hourly booking, the chauffeur stays with the vehicle for the whole booking, so nobody counts minutes at a graveside. Our lead product is the hourly chauffeur service, and a funeral is exactly what it is for: one car and one chauffeur, as directed by the family and the funeral director. Extra time is added in 30-minute blocks. Waiting on a one-way trip is 15 minutes, then 15-minute blocks.
A typical funeral day
There is no single pattern, but many families follow something like this. The chauffeur arrives at the family home at the time the funeral director gives. The family travels to the funeral home or place of worship. After the service the cars follow the hearse to the cemetery, then on to the reception, and finally home. Cars keep to the funeral director's instructions throughout; the director sets the order and pace of any procession. Tell us at booking each address in order, with the call times, and we plan from there.
Who rides in the funeral limo
Usually the immediate family rides in the first vehicles, with the funeral director's guidance. A business sedan carries three and a business SUV five, with room for a spouse who needs a little more space. Larger families book an executive SUV for six or a luxury minivan with sliding doors for older relatives. Our blog explains who rides in the funeral limo and how the day works.

Choosing a vehicle
- Business sedan: three passengers, three bags; a small family or a couple.
- Business SUV: five passengers. A step up and a good fit for winter roads.
- Executive SUV: six passengers and six bags, a common choice for immediate family.
- Luxury minivan: six passengers with sliding doors.
- Sprinter: up to 14 passengers, a shuttle for extended family between the funeral home, the cemetery and the reception.
- Stretch limousine: a partner vehicle, a stretch sedan for eight or a stretch SUV for up to 14, with a 4-hour minimum.
Stretch limousines are partner vehicles from vetted operators, and we say so plainly. See the fleet page.
Relatives arriving from out of town
Funerals bring families together from across the country. We meet them at Toronto Pearson (YYZ) with a flight-tracked pickup: Barrie to Pearson is a business sedan at $380–440, about 97 km and 60–85 minutes. A Sprinter can bring a group of up to 14 in one trip. Billy Bishop and Union Station are covered on our Billy Bishop and Union Station pages, and the Pearson airport page has the details. A curbside pickup at the terminal's commercial pickup area is what the fare includes; meet and greet inside arrivals is an optional add-on chosen at booking.
Older relatives, wheelchairs and walkers
A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter. Ask dispatch as soon as the date is set, because this vehicle needs notice. For a relative who uses a walker, an SUV with a higher seat is often easier than a low sedan, and an executive SUV or luxury minivan is the best fit. Chauffeurs help with doors and steps and take the pace the passenger sets.
Children and child seats
Child seats are available on request from $25 each: infant or child, toddler and booster. Add them at booking. Ontario's page on choosing a child car seat explains the types. Tell us the ages and weights of the children when you book.
Winter funerals
Winter in Barrie means snow, and Barrie sits in Ontario's snowbelt: lake-effect squalls can close or slow Highway 400 between Barrie and Highway 89 from November to March. A snowy day is a good reason to choose a four-wheel-drive business SUV or executive SUV. Every vehicle runs on winter tires from November to April. Check Environment Canada and Ontario 511 for conditions. Plan more time, and tell us about steep cemetery lanes or unploughed lots.
Funerals beyond Barrie
Services are held across Simcoe County and cottage country as well as in the city. Planning fares from downtown Barrie, business sedan, one way: Springwater and Midhurst $130–150 (9 km, 10–15 minutes), Innisfil $150–170 (15 km, 15–25 minutes), Angus and CFB Borden $165–190 (20 km, 20–30 minutes) and Orillia $215–245 (38 km, 30–35 minutes). For longer distances, see our city-to-city car service. If the service has military honours, the family and the funeral director arrange those; Veterans Affairs Canada has information on the funeral and burial program.
Receptions and gatherings afterwards
After the cemetery, families usually gather at a hall, restaurant or home. A Sprinter can shuttle guests from the cemetery to the reception. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, including on the way to a reception or wake; a drink at the gathering is a good reason to book the car for the trip home. Hourly bookings can include a ride home at the end, so nobody drives tired.
Memorials, celebrations of life and ashes
Not every farewell is a traditional funeral. A celebration of life at a waterfront venue, a memorial at a cottage or a scattering of ashes on a lake all need a quiet, reliable ride. Tell us where you are going and what you need. See our cottage country car service for Muskoka and the Barrie waterfront page for the shoreline.

Working with your funeral director
Funeral homes in Ontario are licensed and regulated; the Bereavement Authority of Ontario is the provincial regulator. Give your funeral director our pickup details or have them call dispatch directly, and the times will line up. We take our instructions from you and the director on the day, and the chauffeur coordinates with the director's staff on arrival.
Booking, short notice and cancellation
Funeral dates are often set only a few days ahead, so book as soon as the plan is known on the booking page. Cancellation is measured from scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent. That is the same schedule for every booking; if the service time moves, tell dispatch as early as you can. See the rates page. If relatives need flights or hotels, the travel desk arranges them with BookingWorldwide.net.
A short planning checklist for the family
If you are arranging cars for the first time, this short list is enough. Ask the funeral director for the call time at the home, the order of the stops and the time the reception starts. Decide how many people need a seat in the family vehicles and how many travel separately. Tell us about anyone with a wheelchair, a walker or a child seat. Give us a mobile number for a family member or the funeral director who will be reachable on the day. Then book on the reservation engine and see the fixed fare before you confirm. If you would rather talk it through, the contact details in the page header reach a live dispatcher at any hour.
After the funeral: the ride home and the airport
Families often forget the end of the day. An hourly booking can end with the ride home from the reception, and relatives flying out the next morning can be collected from the hotel or the house. A flight-tracked airport run to Pearson is a planning $380–440 for a business sedan. Our travel desk can search flights and hotels for relatives who need them. Our page on medical appointments and hospital visits covers the quieter journeys that often follow a loss.
Discretion and privacy
A funeral is private, and so is the ride. The chauffeur does not ask about the person who has died, does not photograph the cortege and does not discuss the family's plans with anyone else. Dispatch holds the details of the booking for the purpose of the trip only. If you would like the chauffeur to wait out of sight, to stay near the entrance for an elderly relative or to take a particular route past a family home or a favourite place, say so at booking and we will plan for it where the road and the funeral director's schedule allow.
Quiet, unbranded vehicles
Our vehicles are black and unbranded, detailed before every trip. The chauffeur does not make announcements or fill the silence, and follows the family's lead. Contact details are in the page header, and dispatch is staffed around the clock.
