The Barrie Film Festival is the city's independent film festival; its own website lists the 29th edition, BFF29, for October 17 to 25, 2026, alongside a year-round screening series at Galaxy Cinemas, 72 Commerce Park Drive. A Barrie Film Festival limo from BarrieLimo.net is $110–125 one way in a business sedan within Barrie, or an hourly chauffeur at $135–160 an hour (3-hour minimum), all-in plus HST. Book direct.
Barrie Film Festival limo: what you book
A Barrie Film Festival limo is a black car and a chauffeur arranged around a screening. You can book a one-way transfer to the cinema and a return pickup, or an hourly chauffeur who takes you to dinner, drives you to the film, waits through it and brings you home. For a night built from a meal and a movie, the hourly option is usually the tidier choice: one car, one agreed finish time, and no one hurrying a dessert to make the start.
The festival is a cultural event, not a party, and the ride should match: quiet, punctual, and discreet. We drive to the festival; we do not run it or sell its tickets, and we claim no official role. This page covers the dates published by the festival, fares from across Simcoe County, and how an hourly chauffeur in Barrie works for film nights and for visiting guests.
What the Barrie Film Festival is
The Barrie Film Festival presents independent cinema from Canada and around the world, with a particular emphasis on Canadian creators, according to its own description. The festival's website says more than 70 public events and screenings take place through the year, so the festival is more than a single week in autumn: it includes a Screen One screening series, a short-film competition, a youth short-film festival and outdoor screenings in summer.
The main festival is the centrepiece, and it is the one most visitors search for by name. The festival site is the best place for the programme, ticketing and venue details for each screening, because venues and times can differ by film.
When the festival runs: BFF29 and the year-round screenings
The festival's site lists BFF29, the 29th annual edition, for Saturday, October 17 to Sunday, October 25, 2026, with the line-up announced and details in the festival's newsletter. Between festivals, the Screen One Series runs screenings during the year; at the time of writing, the next listed screening was on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 4 pm and 7 pm at Galaxy Cinemas.
We quote the dates the festival has published and nothing beyond them. Programmes change, so confirm the film, time and venue before booking your car. If you are planning for a future edition, check the festival site for the next announcement; we will not guess.
Where the screenings are: Galaxy Cinemas and other venues
The festival's site lists Galaxy Cinemas, 72 Commerce Park Drive, Barrie, as the venue for its Screen One Series and its October short-film showcase, and the venue has hosted earlier festival editions. Other venues may be used for specific events, so read the programme for each screening. The City's Five Points Theatre at 1 Dunlop Street West is a downtown venue that also hosts arts events; check whether your screening is there, because the pickup point changes.
Wherever the screening is, give dispatch the venue name and address when you book. If you are unsure, we can confirm with you the day before.
Barrie Film Festival tickets and passes
Tickets and passes are sold by the festival through its own website, including the Screen One Series page. BarrieLimo.net does not sell tickets, and we do not print prices because they change by event. The festival's earlier editions have offered separate tickets for screenings, opening-night events and brunches; check the current programme for the details of this year's events.
Once you have tickets, book your car around them. A quick screening needs a one-way transfer; a full day of films with a lunch and a dinner is a good candidate for an hourly chauffeur.

Hourly chauffeur for a film night
A typical feature runs about two hours, with an introduction, a question-and-answer session or a conversation afterwards. An hourly booking covers the whole evening with a built-in margin. The business sedan is $135–160 an hour, the business SUV $175–205, the executive SUV $225–265 and the first-class sedan $350–410, all-in plus HST with a 3-hour minimum. A four-hour sedan booking is $540–640, which fits a dinner, a film and the drive home.
The chauffeur drops you at the door, parks nearby and waits through the screening; you text when the lights come up. If a director's talk runs long, extra time is added in 30-minute blocks at the same hourly rate. Compare the options in hourly versus point-to-point, and read how the hourly chauffeur service works for the as-directed side.

Dinner and a film: planning the evening
Most festival nights begin with a meal. Book a table, tell dispatch the dinner time and the screening time, and the car handles the transitions: home to restaurant, restaurant to cinema, cinema to home. A 7 pm screening means a 5:15 pickup for a 5:30 dinner, a tidy hour at the table and a drop-off with a few minutes to spare.
The advantage over two separate rides is the certainty. Nobody has to hurry dessert, nobody drives home after a long evening, and nobody argues over parking while the trailers play. Barrie's restaurants are within a few minutes of most venues; our first-time visitor's guide to Barrie lists neighbourhoods if you want to explore.
Date night, anniversaries and a special evening out
A film festival makes a good date night. For a couple, a business sedan or a first-class sedan adds an evening-out feel without the formality of a gala. Our date nights and proposals page covers more elaborate evenings, and the anniversary limo page covers longer celebrations.
Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, so plan any drinks for the restaurant or the venue and let the chauffeur do the driving. Tell us at booking if it is a surprise or a special occasion, and the chauffeur will keep the arrival low-key.
Visiting filmmakers, jurors and festival guests
Festivals bring visitors from out of town: directors, producers, jurors and friends of the festival. Whoever is organising their travel can book Pearson, Billy Bishop or Union Station pickups with us. Pearson to downtown Barrie is about 97 km and 60–85 minutes, $380–440 in a business sedan, $490–565 in a business SUV and $580–665 in an executive SUV. Billy Bishop is $445–510 for a sedan (about 115 km, 80–110 minutes) and Union Station $420–485 (114 km, 75–105 minutes).
Every airport pickup includes flight tracking, 30 minutes of waiting for Canadian domestic and US arrivals (60 for other international arrivals) from actual landing, and curbside pickup at the commercial area; a meet and greet with a name board inside arrivals is optional on the booking form. Read our Barrie to Pearson route page for details. We have no official festival role, so guests or organisers book with us directly.
Sponsors, industry guests and film-production travel
Sponsors and industry guests have the same needs as any corporate guest: punctuality, discretion and a single invoice. Our corporate car service accounts can bill a company or a production office for several cars. If a shoot is under way in Simcoe County, our film and TV production transport page describes crew shuttles and talent pickups, and an hourly chauffeur is a good fit for a producer who needs a quiet back seat between locations.
Where confidentiality matters, say so at booking; our chauffeurs treat what they hear in the car as private.

Matinees, seniors and accessibility
Daytime screenings, such as the 4 pm showings in the Screen One Series, attract older audiences who prefer to be home before dark. A car at the door, with a chauffeur who carries the bags and waits through the film, is a far more relaxed outing than a drive in rush-hour traffic. Tell us at booking if anyone uses a wheelchair, scooter or walker: a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if booked in advance, and the dispatcher will confirm availability for your date.
Service animals are welcome; mention them at booking. Other pets need prior written approval. The cinema's own accessibility arrangements are its to describe, so check with the venue.
Youth film nights, students and groups
The festival's programme includes youth work, such as the Central Ontario Youth Short Film Festival listed on its website. For students, teachers and families, a Sprinter seating up to 14 runs $475–550 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, all-in plus HST. Child seats (infant, toddler and booster) are available on request from $25 each; add them when you book. For school groups, please ask your school about its own transport policy first; we simply supply the vehicle and chauffeur.
Larger groups can use a minicoach or party bus from vetted partner operators, priced in writing by a coordinator. Our Sprinter and group transportation page covers seating and luggage.
October roads: early dark, rain and the first snow
The festival falls in late October, when daylight shortens, rain is common and the first snow is not far off. The snow season on Highway 400 usually begins in November, but a cold, wet evening already makes a drive home from a late screening less pleasant. Our chauffeurs check Ontario 511 before every trip and add time when the roads are bad.
For visitors driving up from Toronto or Muskoka, a chauffeur avoids the late drive on a dark highway. Read our Highway 400 winter travel guide for how we plan for conditions as the season turns.
Staying overnight and the travel desk
Out-of-town guests often stay a night or two. Our Barrie hotels page describes how we collect guests at hotel lobbies; we do not imply any partnership with a hotel. If you want help with flights, rooms and a chauffeur together, our travel desk works with BookingWorldwide.net.
How to book a Film Festival chauffeur direct
Book on the BarrieLimo.net reservation engine: enter your pickup address, choose the venue or hourly, set the date and select your vehicle class. The engine shows the fixed all-in fare, with HST shown separately, before you confirm. No app, no aggregator commission, one dispatch desk.
Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; 10 % applies at 72 hours or less, 50 % at 48 hours or less, and 100 % at 24 hours or less or on a no-show. For more evenings out, see our events calendar and the Film Festival chauffeur guide.
