A Five Points Theatre limo or black car anywhere within Barrie is a business sedan fare of $110–125 one way (up to 10 km, 5–20 minutes), all-in plus HST. For dinner and a show, book the hourly chauffeur at $135–160 an hour with a three-hour minimum: one car takes you to dinner, the theatre and home, and waits between.
Five Points Theatre limo and chauffeur service: the short version
Five Points Theatre is Barrie's small, downtown stage, and a night there rarely needs a car for the whole evening. It needs one at two moments: getting there without circling for a space, and getting home after the curtain. BarrieLimo.net covers both, and the cleverest option is usually the hourly one. You book your Barrie chauffeur directly on our reservation engine, see a fixed all-in fare before you confirm, and keep the same car and chauffeur through dinner, the show and the ride home with our hourly chauffeur service. For a date night, an anniversary or a family birthday, it takes the logistics off your plate and leaves the evening to you.

What Five Points Theatre is
The City of Barrie manages Five Points Theatre at 1 Dunlop Street West, in the heart of downtown, and describes it as a world-class facility for theatre, music, dance and non-theatrical uses such as seminars, workshops and conferences. The seating is flexible, with a capacity of 120 to 200 and retractable seating. That is a small, intimate room, which is why shows can sell out quickly and why audiences tend to arrive together. The City operates a second venue, the Georgian Theatre on the Georgian College campus, and the same box office sells tickets for both. Because programming changes all the time, we do not list shows here: use the City's Five Points Theatre page for what is on.
Where the car stops on Dunlop Street
Dunlop Street is the downtown spine of Barrie, and the theatre's address is on Dunlop Street West. The practical rule is that the chauffeur drops you at the closest legal stop to the entrance. We do not guarantee a spot at the curb in front of the door, since downtown streets are shared with deliveries, patios and, on some summer evenings, closures. The dispatcher plans the approach from your address, tells you where the car will wait, and messages you if anything changes. If someone in the group has limited mobility, put that in the booking notes and we will pick the nearest stop, rather than the most convenient one for the car.
Parking downtown, and why many guests skip it
According to the City, more than 2,000 parking spaces are available in downtown Barrie, and the City provides an interactive parking map. For a daytime visit that is plenty. For an evening show, parking means walking from a lot in winter shoes, paying and remembering where you left the car, and it also means someone is driving home after dinner. A chauffeured evening removes all three of those steps. We are not suggesting parking is impossible, only that a good meal and a good seat are better when nobody is looking at the clock for a meter or a designated driver.
Dinner and a show: a three-hour plan
Three hours is the minimum on an hourly sedan booking, and a theatre evening is a natural fit. This is a template; shift it to your curtain time.
- Early evening: pickup at home in Barrie, Springwater, Innisfil or Oro-Medonte.
- Dinner: a downtown restaurant near Dunlop Street; the car drops you and waits nearby.
- Theatre: the chauffeur takes you to the closest legal stop for the show.
- After the curtain: message the chauffeur from your seat or the lobby; the car is staged close by.
- Ride home: the same car and chauffeur, door to door.
A three-hour booking at $135–160 an hour is the minimum, extra time is added in 30-minute blocks, and a four-hour sedan booking is $540–640 all-in plus HST. If the show runs long or the dinner runs longer, the booking just stretches.

Date nights, anniversaries and proposals
A small theatre is a lovely setting for the occasions that matter, and the car can be part of the surprise. For anniversaries and birthdays, a first-class sedan is the dressed-up option at $350–410 an hour, and a business sedan is the quieter one. Read the date nights and proposals page for how we help plan a surprise, and the anniversary limo page for longer evenings. The chauffeur stays discreet: we do not narrate, and we do not interrupt. We also keep one practical rule that applies to every limo and sedan booking: no alcohol on board, so bring the celebration to the restaurant and let the car take you home.
Groups: theatre outings for clubs, seniors and families
Theatre outings are often group outings: a church group, a seniors' club, a family with grandparents or a work team. A Sprinter seats up to 14 at $475–550 an hour, with a three-hour minimum and a within-Barrie minimum of $480–550. A luxury minivan or an executive SUV takes six, with room for walkers and folded wheelchairs. Because everyone arrives and leaves together, groups also avoid the awkward dispersal at the end of a show. Larger parties may be handled by a coordinator and priced in writing.
Tickets, box office and who needs a ticket
For ticketing, the City says all patrons attending its theatres must have a ticket, including infants. Tickets are sold online through Ticketpro and by phone, and the box office is open Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a box office at the venue that opens an hour before performances. These are the City's published details at the time of writing, so confirm them on the City's theatres and tickets page. We do not sell tickets, and nothing on this page implies any affiliation with the venue. We simply drive to it.
Accessibility: the theatre and the car
The City says the theatre is accessible, but notes that several interior stairs may obstruct wheelchairs and walkers and asks patrons to call the box office in advance to arrange accessible seating. Please do that first. For the car, we have a wheelchair-accessible vehicle available: book it in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter so we can match the vehicle properly. We do not quote a model or ramp specification in advance; the dispatcher confirms what is available for your date. For guests who walk slowly, the chauffeur's choice of drop-off point matters more than anything else on the night.

Winter evenings: snow, cold and the walk from the car
Theatre season runs through the colder months, and Barrie's snowbelt does not take weekends off. Lake-effect squalls can slow the roads with little warning from November to March, and a snow-covered pavement is a very different walk in evening shoes. We run late-model vehicles on winter tires from November to April, keep the car warm while it waits and choose a drop-off that minimises the walk. See our Highway 400 winter travel guide for how we plan a stormy night. If you are coming in from Orillia, Collingwood or Newmarket, add a safety margin to the pickup time, and let us know if the forecast looks poor.
Summer evenings and Open Air Dunlop
Summer changes downtown. The City's summer notices point to select Open Air Dunlop dates, with street closures for shopping and dining, and a Troubadour Festival concert series at Meridian Place. A warm evening along Dunlop Street is wonderful on foot but awkward in a car, so book early and tell us your theatre time, and the dispatcher will pick a drop-off that works with any closures. The waterfront is a few minutes away if you want a stroll before the show: see the Barrie waterfront and Centennial Beach page.
A new performing arts centre for downtown
The City says it is planning a new downtown performing arts centre as a western anchor of a downtown cultural corridor. We cannot tell you when or what, and the details belong to the City, so follow the City's updates. What we can say is that Barrie's cultural calendar is growing, and the car service you use for Five Points Theatre will work the same way for any new venue downtown. Check the City's announcements for any dates or addresses.
From Toronto, Pearson or Union for a night out
A few theatre-goers travel to Barrie from the south for a show, and some stay overnight. From Toronto Pearson, the business sedan fare to downtown Barrie is $380–440 (about 97 km, 60–85 minutes), and from Union Station it is $420–485 (114 km, 75–105 minutes). We track flights and trains, include 30 minutes of waiting on Canadian domestic and US arrivals (60 minutes on other international arrivals) and meet you curbside at the commercial pickup area. The travel desk can add a hotel and flights, and the Barrie hotels page covers downtown pickups.
Taxi, ride-hail or private car to the theatre?
If you live ten minutes from Dunlop Street, a taxi or a ride-hail app is an honest, inexpensive way to reach a show. The point of a booked chauffeur is different: a reserved car that is waiting when the lights come up, a fixed fare agreed beforehand and one driver you can message. It costs more, and we say so. It is worth it when you are bringing guests from out of town, when the night includes dinner and a drive home to Innisfil or Orillia, when the weather is poor or when you simply want the evening to run smoothly without anyone watching the clock.
How early to arrive for a Five Points Theatre show
The City's box office at the venue opens one hour before a performance, and in a room of 120 to 200 seats the lobby fills quickly, so most patrons arrive 30 to 45 minutes before curtain. That is the time to ask the chauffeur for, not the show time itself. Build the pickup backwards: curtain time, minus the arrival buffer, minus the drive from dinner. The dispatcher does the arithmetic when you confirm the booking, and adds a margin if Dunlop Street is likely to be busy. Whether latecomers are admitted is up to the venue and the production, so read the ticket terms on the City of Barrie site and plan to be early rather than hopeful.
Families, matinees and school outings
Not every Five Points Theatre outing is a late evening. The room hosts theatre, music, dance and workshops, so afternoons and weekends bring families, school groups and clubs. For a matinee, a three-hour hourly booking is often enough: lunch downtown, the show, and a ride home before the dinner rush. Children need a ticket too, since the City says all patrons including infants must have one, and child seats are available from $25 each, requested at booking. A luxury minivan or an executive SUV suits a family of five or six, and for a class or club, the Sprinter seats up to 14.
Why book direct for Five Points Theatre
The reservation engine shows a fixed fare before you confirm, with no surge pricing and no meter, and gratuity is included. One dispatch desk plans the evening. Cancellation is free more than 72 hours before pickup; inside 72 hours it is 10 per cent, inside 48 hours 50 per cent, and inside 24 hours or for a no-show the full fare, measured from your scheduled pickup. See more places we drive to on our attractions page, or look at the MacLaren Art Centre for an afternoon in the gallery before the evening show.
