A Rolls Royce Cullinan is a tall five-door SUV; the Phantom is a long sedan with rear-hinged coach doors. Our partner class lists the Rolls-Royce Ghost, the Phantom and the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, not the Cullinan, so ask at booking and expect the engine to book the class. A Rolls-Royce chauffeur booking starts from $675 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, partner vehicle, all-in plus HST.
What is the difference between a Rolls Royce Cullinan and a Phantom?
Shape first. The Phantom is the brand's flagship sedan: in the current generation it is about 5,762 mm long in standard form and about 5,982 mm in the extended-wheelbase version, with conventional front doors and rear-hinged coach doors, and a 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12. The Cullinan, launched in 2018, is the brand's SUV: about 5,341 mm long and about 1,835 mm tall, offered as a five-seater or a four-seater with two individual rear seats, and described as having coach-style rear doors and a glass partition between the load area and the passenger compartment. A Series II update of the Cullinan followed in 2024.
That is the whole of the physical story, and the rest of this page is about what it means in a booking. Our Rolls-Royce chauffeur page covers the rates and the service; this article helps you decide which kind of Rolls-Royce you are asking for.
Which Rolls-Royce models can you actually book?
Here is the part search results do not tell you. Rolls-Royce and Maybach cars are partner vehicles from vetted operators in the LimousineWorldwide.Directory network, not part of our own fleet of sedans, SUVs, vans and Sprinters. Our fleet class lists the Rolls-Royce Ghost, the Phantom and the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. The Cullinan is not on that list.
The exact model, colour and interior depend on the partner's fleet on your date. If you want a Cullinan, ask at booking and we ask the partner; we will not promise one we have not confirmed, and the reservation engine books the class, not a model. A partner car in this class is a maximum of seven model years old. Our fleet page shows the class.
How do the Phantom and Cullinan compare side by side?
| Feature | Phantom (standard / extended) | Cullinan |
|---|---|---|
| Body | Long sedan | Tall five-door SUV |
| Length | about 5,762 mm / about 5,982 mm | about 5,341 mm |
| Rear doors | Rear-hinged coach doors | Coach-style rear doors |
| Rear seating | Varies by car; ask the partner | Five seats, or four with individual rear seats |
| Drive | Rear-wheel drive (reported) | All-wheel drive (reported) |
| On our partner class list | Yes | No: ask at booking |
Dimensions and layouts are manufacturer figures, and individual cars vary by specification. Treat the table as a guide to the two shapes, not as the spec of the car that will arrive.
Which is easier to get in and out of in a gown or a tuxedo?
Coach doors open rearward, which gives a wide, unobstructed opening and makes an elegant entrance and exit for a bride with a long dress. The Phantom's sedan seat is lower than an SUV's, so there is less climbing and more sliding. A tall SUV generally has a higher step, which suits some passengers and challenges others, such as an older parent in heels.
If a passenger has limited mobility, tell dispatch at booking, because the right answer might be a different vehicle. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter; it is a separate booking and not something a Rolls-Royce can be adapted to.
Which carries more luggage and wedding gear?
The class is booked as a three-passenger car with two bags, whatever the model, and that is the honest planning figure. A bridal gown in a garment bag, a veil box and an overnight case use most of two bags. A Cullinan's load area is larger and is separated from the passengers by a glass partition, which helps if the day involves a lot of things; a Phantom's boot is a boot.
Do not guess. List what has to travel, tell dispatch, and ask whether a second vehicle makes sense. A stretch limousine or a Sprinter for the bridesmaids is the usual answer, and the cars share one dispatch desk.
Which one for a wedding in Barrie?
A wedding is the classic reason to ask. Most couples book by the hour for the key moments: from the home or hotel to the ceremony, then photographs, then the reception. A half-hour drive plus an hour of photographs on a summer Saturday is a three-hour booking, the minimum. Photographs on Barrie's waterfront, at Centennial Beach and the waterfront, are the usual first stop for a local wedding party.
The coach doors suit the bride's arrival; the Phantom suits the portrait of a couple stepping out together; an SUV shape can look unusual beside a church entrance. These are matters of taste, not of fact, so look at the options with your photographer and the partner's photographs of the actual car. Out-of-town wedding guests who need flights and rooms can use our travel desk, run with BookingWorldwide.net. Our wedding limo planning guide and the guide on how to book a wedding limo cover the timeline.
Which for a VIP arrival or corporate occasion?
For a client-facing arrival, a gala or a speaker, a Rolls-Royce says something about the occasion. For the working day, though, our own first-class sedan at $350–410 an hour is the practical premium car. See our executive limo page and the post comparing the Mercedes-Maybach and the S-Class.
Airport runs are available in any class. Barrie to Pearson, about 97 km and 60–85 minutes, runs $1,660–1,910 in the Rolls-Royce or Maybach class; the Billy Bishop run is longer, at about 115 km and 80–110 minutes. Flights are tracked, curbside pickup at the commercial pickup area is included and a name-board meet and greet is an optional add-on. A Cullinan's larger load area is the one reason to ask for it for a VIP with luggage.
What does a Rolls-Royce cost compared with the rest of the fleet?
The hourly planning rate for the Rolls-Royce and Maybach class is from $675 an hour with a 3-hour minimum, partner vehicle, all-in plus HST, with extra time in 30-minute blocks. For comparison, the first-class sedan is $350–410 an hour, the Jet Sprinter $650–750 and a stretch limousine $400–470 with a 4-hour minimum. One way, from downtown Barrie:
| Destination | Distance and time | First-class sedan | Rolls-Royce or Maybach (partner) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Casino Rama | 47 km, 35–45 min | $620–715 | $1,110–1,275 |
| Blue Mountain Village | 66 km, 60–70 min | $780–895 | $1,390–1,600 |
| Toronto Pearson | about 97 km, 60–85 min | $910–1,045 | $1,660–1,910 |
| Union Station / downtown Toronto | 114 km, 75–105 min | $1,010–1,160 | $1,840–2,115 |
The reservation engine quotes the exact address, date and vehicle. Our Barrie limo prices guide lays out every class.
Which suits a milestone birthday, an anniversary or a proposal?
For two people, the sedan shape is the classic: a long rear compartment, a door that opens like a theatre curtain and a car that looks the part outside a restaurant or at the waterfront. The Phantom is the more traditional reading of the evening. A Cullinan suits the couple who would rather sit higher and see more of the drive, or who are carrying flowers, a gift and an overnight bag.
Whichever you prefer, an hourly booking is the right shape, because the car waits outside the restaurant and the chauffeur holds the door when you are ready. Our pages on anniversaries, birthdays and date nights and proposals have ideas for the evening. For a proposal, tell dispatch the plan and a number to call, and keep the chauffeur informed about timing; the car is the one part of the surprise that has to be on time.
Which handles a Simcoe County winter better?
Barrie is in Ontario's snowbelt, and lake-effect squalls can slow Highway 400 from November to March. An all-wheel-drive car, which is how the Cullinan is reported to be specified, helps in snow; the Phantom is reported to be rear-wheel drive. But tires matter more than drivetrain, and Ontario's winter driving advice says winter tires can shorten braking distances by as much as 25 per cent.
Our own fleet runs on winter tires from November to April. Partner vehicles are the partner's, so for a January wedding ask about tires at booking and ask what the car will be like on a drive with a private road at the end. Dispatch checks Ontario 511 before releasing cars in squall season, and our Highway 400 winter travel guide covers the pattern.
Is there a champagne tailgate, and can we drink in the car?
Searchers love the Cullinan's fold-out tailgate seats. Whatever a car's party tricks, alcohol is not allowed on board in any vehicle booked through us, partner Rolls-Royce and Maybach cars included, and that applies at weddings, proms and milestone birthdays. Plan the toast at the venue; the chauffeur will wait. Our post on whether you can drink in a limo in Ontario explains the rule.
How far ahead should I hold the car?
As soon as the date and venue are set. Availability is thinner in this class than in any other, especially on summer Saturdays, because partner operators own few of these cars. Holding the date early is also the cheapest way to change your mind: cancellation is measured from the scheduled pickup, with no charge more than 72 hours before, 10 per cent at 72 hours or less, 50 per cent at 48 hours or less, and 100 per cent at 24 hours or less or for a no-show.
What should I check at the venue?
Walk the arrival. Is there a curb or a step, a gravel driveway, a church staircase, a line of cars? Chauffeurs plan the stop around these, and a short conversation with the venue saves a long wait on the day. Tell dispatch the addresses in order, a contact other than the person being driven, and the position of the photograph stops.
Do you offer other exotic cars?
No. Our partner class is Rolls-Royce and Maybach, and we do not rent supercars. If you want something from a different class, a black first-class sedan or a partner stretch limousine is the honest answer. Partners are vetted under our memberships in LimousineWorldwide.Directory and LimousineAssociation.International, which commit operators to written standards on licensing, insurance, vehicle age and chauffeur conduct.
How do I book?
Use the reservation engine and ask for a Rolls-Royce or Maybach hour block, noting any model request in the booking. For a wedding with several vehicles, a coordinator can price the whole day in writing. Child seats are available from $25 each on request, and pets need prior approval in writing.
