Golf courses in Barrie and nearby include Horseshoe Valley Club, The Nest at Friday Harbour, Innisbrook, Tangle Creek, Shanty Bay, Simoro and Bear Creek, according to the resort and Tourism Barrie. A business sedan within Barrie is a $110–125 planning range one way, but four players with bags usually want an SUV, from $175–205 an hour with an hourly chauffeur in Barrie.
Which golf courses in Barrie are worth a chauffeured day?
Barrie sits in the middle of a lot of golf. This is not a ranking; it is a list of courses that Barrie golfers actually book, drawn from a Tourism Barrie roundup and from the resorts' own sites, with a note on what each says about itself. Course conditions, rates and tee-time rules are the clubs' to set, so call or check before you commit.
What a chauffeur adds is not a better round but a better day: nobody drives to the course with a hangover, nobody drives home after the 19th hole, and the clubs travel in one vehicle. Our hourly chauffeur service page explains how the clock works for a day like this.
Which courses do local sources name?
The table draws on Tourism Barrie's local-courses roundup (dated September 2023, so confirm anything that matters) and on the Horseshoe and Friday Harbour sites. Fares depend on the exact address, so the last column points you to the fare band to ask about.
| Course | Where | What the source says | Fare band to ask about |
|---|---|---|---|
| Horseshoe Valley Club | Oro-Medonte | 18 holes, par 69, 5,559 yards, tree-lined fairways and ponds | Oro-Medonte, $180–205 sedan |
| The Nest at Friday Harbour | Innisfil | 18 holes along Lake Simcoe, lessons and resort amenities | Innisfil, $150–170 sedan |
| Allandale Golf Course | Innisfil | 9 holes, par 36, 3,250 yards, practice facilities | Innisfil, $150–170 sedan |
| Innisbrook Golf Course | South Barrie | 18-hole public course | Barrie, $110–125 sedan |
| Simoro Golf Links | Barrie | Family-owned public 18 holes, rolling terrain | Barrie, $110–125 sedan |
| Tangle Creek Golf & Country Club | Barrie | 200+ acres, 4,200 to 6,982 yards | Barrie, $110–125 sedan |
| Shanty Bay Golf Club | Barrie outskirts | 27 holes on 272 acres, family business since 1962 | Quoted by the engine |
| Bear Creek Golf Club | Per the Tourism Barrie page | 27 holes in three 18-hole combinations | Quoted by the engine |
Read the Tourism Barrie roundup and the Horseshoe Resort golf page for the details behind each line, and use the course finder on Golf Ontario's site to look for others.
How much does it cost to get a foursome to the first tee?
Planning figures from our fare table, one way from downtown Barrie, business sedan, all-in plus HST: within Barrie $110–125 (up to 10 km, 5–20 minutes); Springwater and Midhurst $130–150 (9 km, 10–15 minutes); Innisfil $150–170 (15 km, 15–25 minutes); Oro-Medonte $180–205 (25 km, 20–30 minutes). Larger vehicles on trips this short are quoted by the engine.
By the hour, the figures that matter for a foursome are a business SUV at $175–205 per hour and an executive SUV at $225–265, each with a three-hour minimum. Multiply the hourly range by the hours you need, and the engine shows the total before you confirm. A four-hour sedan booking is $540–640.
Which vehicle fits four golfers and their bags?
Golf bags are longer and bulkier than suitcases, and a sedan seats three, so four players are not a sedan trip. A business SUV seats five with five bags, and an executive SUV seats six with six bags; for four players with clubs, shoes and a change of clothes, the executive SUV is the comfortable choice. A Sprinter carries up to fourteen for a larger group.
Tell dispatch the number of players and the number of bags at booking, and say whether anyone has a travel cover or a push cart. Dispatch confirms the vehicle assigned to your date. Our luggage guide and the Escalade versus Navigator article cover what the SUV classes carry.
What does a morning round look like, hour by hour?
A foursome with an 8:30 tee time at Horseshoe Valley, booked in an executive SUV by the hour.
- 7:15 Pickup in Barrie, clubs loaded, coffees in hand.
- 7:45 Arrive at the club, bags to the cart staff or the practice area. Warm up.
- 8:30 to 13:00 The round, which commonly takes four to four and a half hours and longer on a busy weekend.
- 13:00 Lunch at the clubhouse. The chauffeur holds the car nearby.
- 14:30 Departure, clubs and wet shoes in the back.
- 15:15 Home in Barrie, with the last drop-off at the final address.
An hourly day like this is about eight booked hours, because the clock runs from the first pickup to the last drop-off. Plan the pickup backwards from the tee time, and add a margin for a slow Highway 400.
What about a twilight round after work?
A twilight round is the cleanest use of a short booking. A pickup at 4 for a 5:30 tee time, 9 or 18 holes depending on the light, a quick bite and home by 9:30 is a four-to-five-hour evening. A short drive to a Barrie course makes two one-way fares an alternative to hourly.
For a corporate group heading out after the office, a Sprinter keeps everyone together. See our corporate events page for how a coordinator prices larger outings.
Should you book hourly or drop and collect?
For a round of four-plus hours, two one-way fares (a drop in the morning and a pickup in the afternoon) can cost less on paper than keeping an SUV on the clock, because you do not pay for the hours the car waits. The trade-off is that you are tied to one pickup time and one place.
Hourly wins if you want the car on call, if the day includes a second stop, or if the round might run long. It also wins if a course is far enough that a return trip for the chauffeur would be silly. Our hourly versus point-to-point guide shows how to compare, and the engine prices both.
Can you play two courses in a day?
You can, and a chauffeur is the sensible way to do it. A 36-hole day, or an 18 plus a short nine, means a transfer between courses and a long day in the car. Book hourly, give the engine both addresses, and let the chauffeur handle the move while you eat.
The trip between Barrie and Friday Harbour is about 15 km and 15–25 minutes; between Barrie and Horseshoe it is about 25 km and 20–30 minutes. Our Friday Harbour guide covers the lunch options if you finish at The Nest.

What about a scramble, club championship or corporate outing?
A group of 24 or 32 golfers is a multi-vehicle booking. A Sprinter carries up to fourteen on one fare, so two Sprinters and an SUV move a field of 30. Multi-vehicle and coach bookings are priced in writing by a coordinator, and partner minicoaches and party buses are four model years old or younger.
Tell us the course, the first tee time, the number of players and any start-time wave. Our Sprinter and group transportation page covers the seating. Alcohol is not allowed on board any of our vehicles, including on a corporate outing, so any celebrations stay at the clubhouse.
What about a seniors' league, a ladies' day or a juniors' outing?
Regular groups are among the best uses of a chauffeur, because the same people travel to the same course week after week. A seniors' league of six fits an executive SUV; a ladies' day of eight to twelve fits a Sprinter; a juniors' outing needs a vehicle large enough for the bags and a plan for parents.
Ask about a repeat arrangement through the corporate accounts desk if a club or a company books regularly, and read our as-directed chauffeur explainer for how an open-ended day works. If any passenger is a minor travelling without an adult, ask dispatch at booking how that is handled. A brewery stop after the round is possible too: see our brewery tour guide.
What happens at the 19th hole?
It happens at the clubhouse, and that is the point. Alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, so the post-round drink is at the table, and the chauffeur takes the wheel for the drive home. Our article on whether you can drink in a limo in Ontario gives the wider context.
For a long afternoon at the clubhouse, an hourly booking can run past the original plan, with extra time in 30-minute blocks when the chauffeur's schedule allows. Tell dispatch your best estimate of the finish, and message when you are ready to go.
What should go in the car, and what should stay home?
Clubs, shoes, a towel, a rain jacket, a spare shirt and a bag for wet gear are all you need. Keep your wallet and phone with you on the course. On an hourly booking the chauffeur stays with the car while you play.
Big items are another matter: a full set of clubs in a hard travel case may need a bigger vehicle, so tell us at booking. If you are arriving by air for a golf trip, Pearson to Barrie is $380–440 for a sedan, $490–565 for a business SUV and $580–665 for an executive SUV, about 97 km and 60–85 minutes; see our Barrie to Pearson route.
What about rain, heat and the cancellation rules?
Weather decisions are the course's. We cannot cancel a round for you, and a club's rain policy is separate from ours. Cancellation of the car is measured from the scheduled pickup: more than 72 hours before is free; 72 hours or less is 10 per cent; 48 hours or less is 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show is 100 per cent.
If the forecast is poor, tell dispatch early, and move the booking before the window closes. For a heat wave, the chauffeur keeps the cabin cool and a cooler of water is welcome. Check the Environment Canada forecast the night before.
Is there a golf-and-stay trip?
Horseshoe's golf page mentions a Golf & Stay package, and The Nest sits inside a resort with its own accommodation. For an overnight, our Horseshoe Valley resorts page and Friday Harbour and Innisfil hotels page explain where cars stop for guests.
A golf weekend is two one-way fares, a drop on Friday and a pickup on Sunday. If you are adding flights, hotel nights or a golf holiday abroad, our travel desk can arrange them alongside the car.
How do you book a golf day direct?
Open the reservation engine, choose hourly or one-way, enter the Barrie pickup and the course, add the number of players, and read the fixed fare. Book direct with BarrieLimo.net: no app, no aggregator commission, one dispatch desk.
Make the tee time yourself, and give us the time so we can plan the pickup backwards from it. Pets need prior approval in our vehicles, and a wheelchair-accessible vehicle is available if you book in advance and tell us about the wheelchair or scooter.
