A Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain limo from downtown Barrie is about 66 km and 60–70 minutes; the planning range for a business sedan is $300–345 one way, all-in plus HST, tolls included. Because a spa day runs three to five hours, many guests book an hourly chauffeur instead ($135–160 an hour, three-hour minimum) so the car waits. The engine shows your exact fixed fare.
Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain limo from Barrie: why people book a car
You can book a chauffeur for your spa day in a couple of minutes, and the reasons to are practical. A thermal spa day has an odd shape for transport. You arrive at a set time, you disappear into three or four hours of heat, cold and rest with your phone locked away, and you come out loose-limbed and sleepy. The least relaxing way to finish that is a 66 km drive home on Highway 26 in the dark. That is the reason a Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain limo works: the chauffeur drives, you do not, and the spa day ends the way the spa intends it to.
You book directly on BarrieLimo.net; the reservation engine prices your pickup and vehicle and shows a fixed all-in fare before you confirm, with HST separate. If you are also skiing or walking the Village the same day, the neighbouring page on Blue Mountain Village explains the arrival points and parking.
Planning fares from Barrie to Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain
These are planning ranges, one way, from downtown Barrie, business sedan, all-in plus HST. The Blue Mountain Village row is the closest published fare to the spa; the reservation engine quotes the exact address, date and vehicle, so use it for the final figure.
| Trip | Planning fare (business sedan, one way) | Distance | Drive time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown Barrie to the Blue Mountain area (Village row) | $300–345 | about 66 km | 60–70 min |
| Downtown Barrie to Collingwood | $275–315 | about 57 km | 50–60 min |
| Downtown Barrie to The Blue Mountains / Thornbury | $340–390 | about 80 km | 65–80 min |
| Downtown Barrie to Toronto Pearson (YYZ), airport leg | $380–440 | about 97 km | 60–85 min |
| Hourly, business sedan | $135–160 per hour | 3 h minimum | car waits for you |
| Hourly, business SUV | $175–205 per hour | 3 h minimum | up to 5 guests |
| Hourly, executive SUV | $225–265 per hour | 3 h minimum | up to 6 guests |
A four-hour sedan booking is $540–640 all-in plus HST. Because the hourly clock includes the drive up and back, a long spa day is priced by the hour it actually takes; ask the engine for both options and compare the fixed totals.
What Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain is
Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain is a Nordic thermal spa at 152 Grey County Road 21, in the Blue Mountains area of Grey County. It describes itself as set in the Niagara Escarpment, which it calls a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and it is open daily from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., with massages starting at 9 a.m. Its official site lists the thermal journey, massage options and a bistro for light meals.
We are a driver, not the spa. We have no affiliation with Scandinave and no say in its rules, prices or availability. The spa sells its own admission and treatments; we move you to and from the door.
How the thermal circuit works, and how long it takes
The spa's model is a repeating three-stage cycle: heat, cold, then rest. It recommends three to four cycles, each around 45 minutes, and says most guests stay three to five hours. That number matters for your ride more than any other, because it is the length of time a chauffeur would be waiting.
Plan on the long side. Nobody times a rest cycle with a stopwatch, and the spa asks guests to unplug. If your driver is booked by the hour, extra time is billed in 30-minute blocks after your booked hours; if you book one-way drop-off and a separate pickup, the time you spend inside costs nothing extra in the car.

Silence, devices and etiquette: what shapes the ride
Silence is a core rule at Scandinave, and devices are meant to stay in a locker. The spa's visit-preparation page also asks guests to shower before entering the thermal areas, wear swimwear in all thermal facilities, and remove jewellery and glasses before the saunas.
For transport, that means two things. You will not be answering messages from the car while you are inside, so tell your chauffeur the pickup time before you go in and agree where the car will wait. And it means the chauffeur needs a plan if you run late, which is why we put pickup instructions in the booking notes rather than relying on texts. The ride to the spa is a good time to read the rules and decide who carries the car keys, because locker access is by electronic padlock.
Reservations, check-in and late arrival
Scandinave lets guests walk in during opening hours, subject to availability, and also offers a reserved thermal journey. A reservation is the way to guarantee entry, and massage appointments are booked ahead. The spa says guests with a reserved thermal journey must check in within 30 minutes of their booked time, and those who arrive later go on the regular waiting list. Guests booked for a thermal journey plus massage arrive well ahead of the treatment, within the range the spa publishes.
For your pickup, this means we count backwards from your check-in time, not your appointment time. A pickup in Barrie at 9:30 for an 11:00 check-in leaves a normal margin on a dry day and a useful one in winter. We plan to the slower end of the drive-time range because the cost of arriving late is losing your slot.
Drop-off only, or a chauffeur who waits?
There are two ways to book a spa day. A one-way drop-off at the spa, followed by a one-way pickup later, suits guests who live close or who are happy to schedule the return exactly. The cost is two fares and a chauffeur driving back to Barrie and returning.
An hourly chauffeur waits: the same car and driver for the whole day, with the clock covering the drive both ways and the waiting between. It is the better fit for a guest who does not know when they will finish, wants a fixed arrangement and does not want to coordinate two pickups. See our hourly chauffeur service for the rules; the minimum is three hours and the engine will show what your day costs.
Is there a Scandinave Spa shuttle from Barrie?
People search for a Scandinave spa shuttle, and the honest answer is that we do not run a scheduled shared shuttle to the spa and cannot speak for anyone who does; check the spa's own site for current transport information. What we offer is a private car, priced per vehicle rather than per seat, from your door.
A shared seat on a scheduled service is usually cheaper for one traveller. A private car is the better value as soon as two or more people share it, and it leaves when you do, not when the timetable does. For a couple or a group of friends, the private car also keeps the day together: nobody waits for a bus after a thermal circuit.
Timing a spa day: weekday, weekend, morning or evening
Spa days at weekends and holiday periods are busy, and the spa's own advice is to reserve ahead for peak dates. Weekdays are quieter and the roads are kinder. Mornings are the easiest drive; Friday afternoon and Sunday late afternoon bring cottage and ski traffic that slows Highway 26.
An evening session has its own appeal in winter, with steam rising off the outdoor pools in the cold, and it is also the time when a chauffeur matters most: the drive home is in the dark. Tell the engine your target check-in time and we will work out the pickup from there. Our dispatch desk is staffed all day and night.

Winter spa days, snow squalls and your safety margin
Barrie sits in Ontario's snowbelt. Lake-effect squalls off Georgian Bay can slow or close roads between Barrie and the bay with little warning from November to March, and a spa day often falls in those months. Check Ontario 511 before you leave.
A winter booking is planned with extra margin, on winter tires, with the chauffeur deciding when the road is safe. If conditions change on the day, we call you early, not late. Our Highway 400 winter travel guide explains how we plan these days.
Massage add-on: arrival and age
Massage appointments are reserved in advance, and the spa publishes the recommended arrival window for a combined thermal and massage visit. Plan your pickup around the earlier of the two times. Age rules are the spa's, not ours: its minor guests policy says guests must be at least 14, that 14 and 15 year olds must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and that guests aged 16 and over may enter unaccompanied, with proof of age.
Massage rules for younger guests are separate and differ from thermal access, so check them with the spa before you book a family visit. If a teenager is travelling with you, tell us at booking so the chauffeur knows who is in the car.
Couples, birthdays, anniversaries and friends
Spa days are popular for anniversaries, birthdays and bridal parties. Our pages on anniversaries, birthdays and date nights and proposals explain how an occasion is planned around a car.
One rule applies to all of them: alcohol is not allowed in our vehicles, and that includes the ride home after a spa day with friends. Many spa guests are happy with a bistro snack and a long drink of water, and Scandinave asks you to bring a water bottle. If you want a celebratory dinner afterwards, finish the day in Collingwood or the Village and let the chauffeur do the driving.
Combining the spa with Blue Mountain Village or dinner in Collingwood
A common hourly-chauffeur afternoon is spa, then dinner. The spa is close to Blue Mountain, so the same car can take you to a Village restaurant, or into Collingwood for a table, before the run back to Barrie. The Blue Mountain and Collingwood hotels page covers overnight stays, and the travel desk books flights and rooms.
On a weekday the whole day can also include a lift ticket or a walk, but be realistic: a Nordic circuit that lasts three to five hours is a day in itself. Our ski resort transfers page covers resorts nearer to Barrie if you would like a shorter trip.
Choosing the vehicle
Most spa days are two or three people in a business sedan. An executive SUV or luxury minivan suits four to six, and a Sprinter handles a group of up to 14, such as a bridal party. The classes are described on our fleet page.
| Vehicle | One way, Barrie to the Blue Mountain area (planning) | Passengers |
|---|---|---|
| Business sedan | $300–345 | 3 |
| Business SUV | $400–460 | 5 |
| Luxury minivan | quoted by the engine | 6 |
| Executive SUV | $480–550 | 6 |
| Sprinter | $1,190–1,370 | up to 14 |
All figures are all-in plus HST. Stretch limousines and party buses are partner vehicles priced in writing. Child seats are available from $25 each, added at booking; pets need prior approval and a written confirmation.
Arriving from Pearson for a spa weekend
Visitors fly into Toronto Pearson and head north for a spa weekend. The Barrie row above covers a Barrie pickup; for a Pearson pickup, enter the airport as your pickup in the engine and it prices the whole trip as one fixed fare. Flights are tracked, included waiting is 30 minutes on Canadian domestic and US flights and 60 minutes on other international arrivals, and curbside pickup at the terminal's commercial pickup area is included.
Our Pearson airport page explains terminals and procedure, and the Barrie to Pearson route page covers the Barrie leg.
Booking, what is included and cancellation
Open the reservation engine, enter your pickup and the spa's address, choose the vehicle and date and read the fixed fare. It includes the chauffeur, vehicle, fuel, tolls, gratuity and fees; HST is shown separately. Add your spa check-in time and who is in the party in the booking notes.
Our cancellation rule: more than 72 hours before pickup, no charge; 72 hours or less, 10 per cent; 48 hours or less, 50 per cent; 24 hours or less or a no-show, 100 per cent, measured from the scheduled pickup. The spa's own booking terms are separate, so read its terms and conditions for what applies to your reservation. Nothing here replaces them.
